- ➡️ Every corner of our village is scented with the sweetness of bael fruit fallen off the trees. I loved that refreshing smell from my childhood. Ripe fruit is an age-old food article, and raw fruit is an essential ingredient of our traditional medicine. 🍃🍈
➡️ Ripe baell fruit has its characteristic odour and is highly recognized for its medicinal properties. A mouth-watering delicacy among most villagers, eat beal fruit with a pinch of sugar or jaggery. 😍
➡️ To rid the fruits of their acridity, they were peeled and kept over a night by cutting them into several inch-long pieces. The following day, bael pieces were collected, boiled over for 15 minutes, and strained. To have the sugar syrup soaked into the bael pieces, they were left to boil after mixing with brown sugar under mild heat. Even a drop of hot water with this golden yellow bael piece is a heavenly taste. 🥨🧇🍯🥛
➡️ My uncle from Kiriella, who was abroad, visited us yesterday. As his usual delicacy, we had plenty of toffees🍬🍭 and sweets🥖. It was a full-blown rampage to hide my parcel full of plums, dates, berries 🫐🍒🍇, and nuts 🌰🥜 from the rest of my family. 🤭🫣🤤
➡️ I baked a fruit cake🥧 by adding those bael pieces and some berries he sent. It was mouth-refreshing and crispy when the berries crushed in between the teeth. The coating made of sugar-bael syrup was an eye tempter. Mother and father tasted every bit of it with ginger tea. It seemed Saki didn’t get enough of the cake. 🤫🤷🏽♀️🍊🍰🎂

කාලෙකට පසුව ජනේලයෙන් බිත්තියට වැටී තිබූ රන් පාට එලිය දුටු විගස සිතට දැනුනේ අමුතුම ප්‍රබෝදයකි.වැහි සේනාවන්ගේ කන්කරච්චලය වෙනුවට අද ඇසෙන්නේ මී මැස්සන්ගේ ගුම් ගුම් ගී නදයි.ඊයේ රෑ කෝඩෙට නැන්දලැයි බෙලි ගහක් බිමටම සමතලා වී ඇතැයි අම්මා මල්ලි සමග කියනු මට ඇසිනි.
ගෙදර වැඩකටයුතු ටිකත් අහවර කර බෙලි කඩන්නට ගියේ දවල්ට අම්මා උයා තිබූ අගුලුවා හොද්දත් සමග තම්බා පොල්,කොච්චි දා සකසා තිබූ මඤ්ඤොක්කා කෑලි හත අටක් රස කර ගිලදමාය.කුස්සියේ කොස් පොලොස් මඤ්ඤොක්කා ඉදෙන දවසටනම් අම්මා උයලා අහවර වෙනතුරු මං ඉන්නේම නැත.
පොලවේ සිට අඩි හතරක් පමණ උසින් දෙකට බෙදී දැඩිව හැදී තිබුනු බෙලි කදේ දෙබෑවෙන්ම ඉරාගෙන එක පලුවක් බිමට වැටී තිබිනි.පැහුනු බෙලි ගෙඩි පැලී සීසීකඩය.ඉදුනු ඒවානම් කලින්ම ඉදී වැටුනු ඒවා විය යුතුය.පලාතම බෙලි සුවදය.ඒ මිහිරි සෞම්‍යය සුවදට මා කුඩා අවදියේ සිටම ආස කලෙමි.ඉදුනු,පැහුනු බෙලි ගොඩකෙරූ කූඩෙට ගැට බෙලි කිපයකුත් එකතු කරගත්තේ තාත්තාගේ බෙහෙත් වලටය.
ඉදුණු බෙලි වල ඇත්තේ ඊටම ආවේනික වූ මිහිරි රසයකි.ගමේ ගොඩේ බොහෝ විට බෙලි කන්නේ සීනි හෝ හීනියට ලියාගත් හකුරු අහුරක් එකතු කරගෙනය.එවිට ඒ රසය දෙගුණ තෙගුණ වන්නේය.😍
තාත්තාට කියා පැහුනු ගෙඩි කීපයක පොත්ත ඇහැගත්තේ ඒ කාරිය කරන්නට මගේ අත හුරු නැති නිසාය.අගල් බාගෙ පමණ බෙලි පලු කපා රැයක් පුරාවට වතුරෙන් පොගවගන්නේ කහට ගතිය අයින් වෙන්නටය.පහුවදා පෙගෙන්නට තැබූ බෙලිපෙති විනාඩි පහලොවක් පමණ තම්බා,නැවතත් වතුර මාරු කර දුඹුරු සීනි දමා මද ගින්නේ හිදෙන්නට තබන්නේ බෙලි කෑලි වලට සීනි පැණි හෙමින් සීරුවේ උරාගන්නටය.රන්වන් පාටට නිමවුනු පැණි බෙලි කෑල්ලක් සමග රස්නෙට පැහුනු උණු වතුර ඩිංගිත්තක් වුවද රසය.🥨🧇🍯🥛
