@@Bigbiceps301 Personally my experience was I had a super big overbite so I wore rubber bands and barley took them off. But they never “over did the job.” I think you should be fine the dentist wouldn’t recommend it if it wasn’t safe!

Hello Dr.Nate, I have a question that I’ve been trying to get it answered, so basically I am getting my braces off in February or March, but I’d have to wait a week for my retainers, will it still be hard to put them on a week after not wearing them? Because I’ve been told that teeth Instantly starts to move after braces being taken off.
But then, if the teeth will rebound once the elastics come off, how does it make sense to wear them at all if the teeth will start to rebound after I’m “done with elastics”
They over correct the position so that they rebound back into where they need to be and then retainers or Invisalign keeps them in that position, if you dont wear them enough to get to that point then they'll rebound into a position where theyre not meant to be Hope this helps!

Okay plz help me during the end of 7th grade I had to little teeth grow in and throughout 8th grade they started growing in more and no one took me to the dentist then covid hit and I did school from home and it's summer now I got two full grown in teeth coming from my gums that's never got braces and my other top teeth are straight but they are missing the two Can I get braces even though my teeth have no space for the other two teeth to go to? Will the braces pull a space for the teeth to move in to?
I’ve had braces when I was younger had perfect straight teeth and when they later took my wisdom teeth out only my back teeth 2 on each side have been displaced again so now I need to get braces again but my orthodontist wants to only put brackets on these individuals will that even work ? The rest is still straight oh gosh I’m so sad
My orthodontist never told me about a water pick but they told me to floss Im sorry but its too hard to floss regularly with braces I feel like im going to break my brackets. So I did my research and bought a water flosser. I bought one right after I got my braces.
@@basetoace3951 yes i recommend a water pick it helps to get food trapped in between hard to get paces its good to have but very good to have if you have braces like me.
Trust me when I say this WEAR YOUR RUBBER BANDS!!!! If you want them off WEAR THEM!!!

@@mayukha_creation braces should help the overbite!!! But my friend had a gummy smile to and she had to get this little surgery to remove some!!

No, don’t double or even triple them it actually worst. Just wear your bands regularly
no quadrupling will def make it super fast
I thought it was standard to always wear the rubber bands? I didn’t even think it was optional to remove them

Yup. You should ideally have them in a day or two.
