Man I loved this game. People complain about the mechs being too slow but I adore how the mechs feel, they're giant robots for crying out loud. I wish they came out with more gundam games like this more simulation type rather than making fast action games with gundam in them.
I have no qualifiers for liking this game. This is exactly what I was looking for in any gundam game because it's what piloting a large mecha would actually feel like. No spinning jump kicks, no glowing gold and touching people with your herpes finger. Just robotic battles.
One of my favourite games of all time. It’s very sad to see Crossfire/Target in Sight get so much hate. I can’t deny the game had some bugs, glitches, frame rate issues etc etc but that never stopped me having fun and clearing both campaigns, multiple times on all difficulty’s. I’ve read so many blogs of people talking about how hard it was to develop PS3 games at launch and this game suffered the most with this issue. I wish this game got a second chance with a Remaster
I feel the exact same way. This is my favorite game of all time. As a child, I would play the game just to listen to the music. I know the game through and through, I’ve been playing since it first debuted in 2006 with the PS3. It really is better than most Gundam games now. It would definitely handle much better with the power of the PS4 and PS5
Man as janky as this game was nothing has ever had me on such an adrenaline rush as clearing an "kill all enemies" mission with both my allies dead, both my arms blown off, with broken foot, and having to resort to killing the last enemy Gundam [G] type by kicking its fucking shins into oblivion in a Gouf. Damn, even remembering that kinda jazzes me up. Goddamnit do I want another game like this one again.
Other random tidbits from som random guy include: Just convert to heavy type, the defense increase outweighs the speed decreases on the Zeon side. Upgrade the hell out of the Gouf and Gelgoog priority goddamn one. They have a fun quirk with their shields having extra guns. Press L3 + R3 to throw away your shield, it's faster the requisitions reloading the bullets they may have. Finally, machine guns are often better then the beam weapons due to fire rate vs raw damage being really weird.
I will give some good suggestions for some players who are new to this game. Double-tap the L1 button will activate the lock on feature and double-tap it again will disable it. Anyway once activated, you can simply press the L1 button once and you will lock the enemy easily. Pressing the X button twice will push your mobile suit forward, press the X button once to jump and if you press it again while jumping, you will push yourself upwards. Hope this helps
Not to gas you up but man I love your videos I wish UA-cam would recommend they to a wider audience your voice and mood is just everything bro wishing you so much blessings and success
Hey, I really do appreciate that. And honestly, GAS ME UP AS MUCH AS YOU WANT I have no complaints about that lmao. But fr tho, I'll just keep putting in the work and people will catch the wave. I know it
While I agree with the vast majority of your valid criticisms. I had a ton of fun with this game, so much so I beat it completely 5 times. Granted back then I didnt know what a "frame rate" was and my much younger eyes didnt go into spasms at 30 frames or less. I just loved the combat and some of the neat features like losing your gun arm, so you throw down your shield and grab your beam saber in a last ditch effort. That gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.
See, that's one of the best parts about making videos on childhood games, it's seeing how people experienced them differently from me. I do understand your perspective, cause this is one of the only gundam games that get that deep with detail.
I was indifferent at first but after playing zeon and then feds it shows how zeon was so out matched when feds started their own. Getting beam weapons on zeon was life changing. Then go to feds and just pop pop pop beam weapons and done. Loved this in the end.
Your videos are fucking hilarious. The content is solid and your use of slang and cursing is well-placed and very natural-sounding. This is the way people should make videos. I enjoyed it. Good job.
Goodness, thank you so much for your positivity. It comes naturally cause that's just who I am. I like making people laugh with my words and writing. I'm glad it's hitting the way it should ❤️
Damn, man. Keep this up!! And I wanted to add that the only thing I like about Crossfire is the texture work on the mobile suits. They look like they are on their last legs and have seen a crazy amount of action.
I always see it this way: it's a freaking Mech Sim. Without learning computer like Gundam, the control is kinda lame, unless you are a New Type 😅. It should just be released as Target in Sight in Japan for Gundam fans and not as a PS3 launch title. Because of that failure, we were stuck with Dynasty Warriors in NA for a long, long time.
wait what the fuck that ending had no business being as fire as it was. when's the full album drop? anyway, about the game now. i remember discovering this game existing one day while a friend and i were at gamestop looking through stuff that was on sale. i was super excited to play it. then i played it... i remember the game running super bad but man i don't remember it this bad, and god do i not miss those controls. as hard as it was to play and enjoy the game, i was still having some fun with it. i look back on it fondly as a game that, while infuriating, was still one of my favorite PS3 games just because it was the only one of it's kind at the time. a realistic, real robot feeling tactical game. i'm glad you were made to suffer through this glorious dumpster fire. now i can stop bugging you about it lol amazing job as always, the quality in your vids keeps getting better and better! (and pls drop some more bars)
Crossfire is one of the best Gundam games. Despite how hard it chugged (they should have released it on anything other than PS3.) it was genuinely fun. I especially loved that it is, I believe, the only Gundam game that takes resuppling and dismemberment into account. The best Gundam game would be if you combined Crossfire with Side Story 0079: Rise From The Ashes.
Dude, freaking hilarious! Great editing and sick beat at the end. Also, your commentary made me want to give Crossfire a shot again for some weird reason. I've owned it twice on PS3, and that frame rate and horrible gameplay loop always turns me off. Honestly I consider it a top 10 worst game I've played, so that speaks volumes you got me curious again as I finally am getting into the Gundam anime. Your channel will take off!
What's that Rengou vs ZAFT doing here? As an American Gundam fan growing up through the 2000s, I've already spent too much time watching gameplay videos from the better, Japan-only Gundam games. I come to this channel to see someone make videos about the subpar games we had to make due with lol I think the only one left now is the SEED fighting game for GBA.
People asked for it a while ago, and I knew it wouldn't be a full video, so it got a segment here. Feel free to see it as a part completely independent of the full video.
I found you in my recommendations yesterday night. I have this game and I despise it’s many flaws, I still like it. It’s kinda my guilty pleasure. Also, subscribed
I don't recall ever having a problem with this game or its controls. I'm sure I did at one point, but I also beat Steel Battalion. I could land a space shuttle after that. I just remember the game being fun, and Zeon finally getting some wins like it deserves. There are entirely too many teenagers wrecking powerful armies in media.
I have gone through this game more then the vast majority have: I’ve played both Factions more 7 times each, fully upgraded every Mobile Suit I have, and bought every Mobile Suit. Gundam Crossfire is fun and has some solid ideas, but has some very big issues that drag it down.
Whoa i was watching a gundam video and wanted to get more lore based info. As such, i did a search for this game and eventually this cause it had a quality thumbnail and is long enough to be 'worth it,' if that makes sense. I did a double take when I saw the "K" username in corner of my eye. Imagine my delight when I realised this video was made by a cool person who happens to be friends with my favourite Star Trek/sci fi channel. Thanks!!
I liked this game. Lots to love, and the slowness to me felt like the mobile suits were actually big ol chonky machines. Loved the graphics at the time, and the way the ms'sesess all looked beat up as hell. Also the only other gundam game I had played on console was Journey to Jaburo, and i hadn't experienced armor core yet, so, this was the best mech game I had ever met. The footage of shooting the GM in the ass to death as Obama was great.
I have mixed feelings for this one. I actually like the way the weapons were on the mobile suit and the ammo being somewhat limited instead of unlimited like most Gundam games and i could handle the gameplay, i didn't like always losing my arms at the beginning of every mission and computer generated voiceovers and having to wait days to repair the mobile suits a few other things but I don't remember I'll have to find my ps3 and old game and retry it
I still play Rengou Vs Zaft PSP on my phone, It's good to keep me entertained. Was thinking about Emulating Crossfire Recently ig I will play it with someone's save data.
I remember liking this game very much. Its one of the only gundam games where the ms actually felt like cheap garbage (like how it should've been) and give u the feeling that u are just another disposable grunt not some space jesus
Battlefield record is the best one made in my opinion. seems much like a sequal to crossfire it improved on everything it had but left out the dmg system. thats one thing i rly liked about crossfire. R Vs Z II Plus was a good one also

When played on a decent PC via Emulator that fixes the frame rate it isn't so bad. The Zeon campaign absolutely sucks though, so many airborne enemies and no Zeke unit is any good at taking them down. That and the GMs are SO much better than Zakus and Goufs. If you run the Feddy campaign you have a LOT better time.

I picked Crossifre up last weekend though I doubt I will play it any time soon because the final battle of Operation Code Fairy has me frustrated enough I doubt I'll feel like another Gundam game for a while. I keep running out of time but given your mission objective in the story running the timer out should be a win not a loss. I probably would have loved Rengou vs. ZAFT had it been released in the US because Federation vs Zeon was my favorite of the PS2 Gundam games followed by Zeonic Front. Plus the Seed timeline has some Mobile Suits I like a lot and my favorite warship class from the franchise so far.
I know this might be a year late, but have you ever played The Gundam 0081 Game? Crossfire is in every sense of the word unfinished, but they learned from this and made "Battlefield Record 0081." Hm. Two months two late. But you could just use an HDMI splitter to bypass HDCP, or even get a PS2 to HDMI converter. Not that you need those now! Welp, time to sit back and watch the rest of the review of someone trashing my favorite game on the Ps3. Well, this was far less spiteful then I thought it'd be and funnier then maybe the game deserves.
I take every game on a case by case basis. This was a special case cause it was so hated, so I completely separated myself and formed my own opinion instead of blind hate. I found things to like and dislike.

Probably because the game becomes a slog to play...? Like GBO.
