This gear is surprisingly good. Just plugged it into a gear calc. 484 defense (crit immune outside of raids) Block dodge or parry everything except for 18% (with holy shield active) 9.2k hp with talents (10k with kings) 162 spell damage (200 with wizard oil) 62.7% DR from armor 203 block value Might have to give your dps salv instead of the buffs they want but you can tank any dungeon with this. Heroics will still be tough in this gear and some probably undoable if the rest of your team has this level of gear, but it’s a good place to start.
Awesome list! I will definitely be using this guide as I level. The only constructive comment I could make would be maybe including a total summary of the item stats at the end, and what stats you would have at lvl 68-70 when equipped with this gear
I did a little research and the good news is that given all this gear and with the proper talents, once you're revered with either the Scryers or Aldor, between their revered shoulder enchants and the head enchant, you'll be uncrittable in raids. The bad news is that you're nowhere near uncrushable. But you would be a solid 5man tank and would have nowhere to go but up.
I think the lichen guard is a better choice for a shield, and it’s easy to get with just honoured sporeggar rep. If you need more defence than that, the shield of the wayward footman is pretty affordable on the auction house…
Definitely agree the lichen shield is probably the best you’re going to get without going into a dungeon. It’s super easy to buy your way from unfriendly to honored off the AH
If you're trying to avoid doing HH quests for rep later on you can pick up the quest starter item for the Regal Protectorate without doing Cursed Intentions. Just go up there and kill Warbringer Arix'Amal and he'll drop it. If leveling with questing, then yes, do the quest line and also get the drop.
flesh beasts metal greaves are amazing freebies for a simple escort quest. And andormu's tear is an awesome ring to think about also, just my two cents
came here to say this, also andorumus tear is from a dungeon quest but still it's amazing. Since you mentioned andormus though, myrmidons headdress as well!
While its cool that these are all from quests, reputation armor would fit the bill, in that case there are much better pieces, continuum blade for example
Hey, great video and it's my first of yours i've seen and you found a new subscriber! What I came here to say though was that you completely ignore all dungeon loot (sorta the point of the video) but people ignoring dungeons are never going to get into heroics anyways right? You need revered and I don't think it's even possible to get revered without doing some normal dungeons. Not to mention if they haven't done the dungeons on normal they aren't going to know how to do the dungeons on heroic thats for sure. All of this gear is really cool but the gear you can get from dungeons is better by a pretty wide margin. The idea behind this video is much better when looked at from the "ok i need to prep for heroics, what quests can I go do to fill in some slots" not necessarily "I can be ready for heroics without doing a single dungeon." And maybe that was your intent but it comes off at least to me like this is the complete gear set you want going into heroics. Thanks for the video!
I think I said at the start of the video that this is for people that may have had bad RNG in their dungeon runs, you'll absolutely need to run normal dungeons first, this is supposed to be a complimentary guide to my other guides covering rep and dungeon gear (they're on the way). You're here pretty early but by the time TBC Classic launches I should have a full array of gearing videos that work together, plus my ultimate Pre-Heroic and Pre-Raid BiS guides. Thanks for the subscription, I'll try and make the intent of the video more clear in future. I'm pretty new to making this style of content.
@@DevTanks hey thanks for the reply! Other videos sound awesome already. Sorry if I was too critical, I just think if someone thinks they can go into heroics in this full set, they're going to get shrekt really hard. It's almost like setting some people up to fail.
@@andrewandreasen162 Keep in mind I think he was saying things you could get to fill slots where you're having bad luck.. His intent wasn't to 'get all this gear and be good' more like "can't get a good helm? get this one"
That would highly depend on the players also but he seemed to mostly do fine with 300-ish SP (you can gear up to 550-ish without resorting to wearing cloth gear or 700+ if you yolo it). T2.5, a good SP weapon and 2 rings will almost get you there. Won't help you much for a fresh toon but if you can gear now or play a hell of a lot during prepatch, that's more than feasible. Especially if your guild helps out.
It's kind of hard to judge right now since we don't have any addons, I'll be able to weigh in on this with actual data when they turn addons on. If you already have a paladin wearing 5 set T2 or T2.5 would be a good option.
@Thomas Hoenselaars That's not true, T3 is 120 Spell damage, T2.5 is 156 with only 5 slots (leaving you 3 more), T2 is 200 + 60-67 dmg on judgment. T2.5 + 3 PVP pieces is 232 Spell Power and is better than T3 in every stat except Int/Mana. T2 is less STAM/INT than T3 BUT more STR/Spell Damage plus more snap threat from 8 set bonus. T3 isn't bad per say but it isn't as good as the other 2. YOU WILL be able to easily tank in T3.
+ Spellpower yes, it ads extra damage to your Holy Spells and therefore you generate more threat. + Healing not so much, since you won't be healing as a tank
Twinhead says the Requirement for the Quest "Varedis must be stopped" is 68. You say its 65. Could you double check on that pls? For 65 it would be really powerful.
@@DevTanks Would have been too good. I had no luck with Lok Amir or End of dreams and so Im looking for a strong Alternative early in tbc. Thanks for your response.
For anyone wondering what the stats would look like with this gear equipped I put it into the wowhead gear planner. tbc.wowhead.com/gear-planner/paladin/blood-elf/A0YP8FMFAzUAAhAlAQUfBSBfAQB1QAIAe9ADAHZTBQBk2wYAdnoHAHRXCAB2fgkAdsAKAHUHCwB1NgwAeWYNAHZcDgBtig8AdFEQAHkaEQB79g
Fast becoming my most anticipated videos, loved the speed runs of BF and ramps, looking forward to a break down of how you handle the pulls for that,
Yes mate! That's a good compliment. I'll keep pumping the videos so long as you guys keep watching.
Great guide man. Only one that I’ve seen that laid things out clearly.
Man i hope you get waaay more subs soon! Amazing videos, keep it up!
Thanks a ton! Currently working on a pretty extensive quest guide.
Just found this after boosting and I appreciate it.
Awesome work. Really practical info!
Thanks vision, one of my earlier videos, good to see people are still finding it useful.

Gear calculator? How to get?
Thanks mate, Just boosted my pally with my mage! great video

Really well explained guide, will look forward it when tbc comes :D
I'm so excited for TBC
Amazing and exactly what I was looking for. Subbed.
Great video mate!
Glad you enjoyed it
fantasic list man, leveling a pally now and will be using this guide one I get to outland
Superb keep it up! Just found ur channel love the feeling of ur videos!
Welcome aboard! Glad you like the content and thanks for the sub.
Really good guide for replacing your first Classic Epics with the first decent TBC stuff.
Thanks!
Amazing guide. THANK YOU
My pleasure!
Increíble me encanto , justo lo que necesitaba para cuando me cree un elfo de sangre paladín Nice!!! Nuevo Suscriptor

Basically if you are a prot pally just do nether storm. You'll pretty much have an entire set from there ready to go.
Heaps of great gear ready to get into dungeons from Netherstorm yep
you are doing gods work
Thankyou!
excellent fantastic amazing content thanks !!!!!
Do you happen to have a similar video but for pre TBC. Im still leveling my Pala would be awesome.
I've had quite a few requests, it's something I'm working on.

Good tip.
Great guide.
Summoner's blade tho, is actually req lvl 68, not 65. Just fyi
This is amazing, thanks!
Glad you like it!
Great vid.
Thanks Matthew.
what gear do you think would be better that a pally tank could get from the AH
Only thing missing is the libram, unless I'm missing something. Awesome guide though!
flesh beasts metal greaves are amazing freebies for a simple escort quest. And andormu's tear is an awesome ring to think about also, just my two cents
Yeah I thought Andormu’s Tear was like BiS pre raid and it’s from a quest? There’s also a few crafted items that are good and don’t have RNG either.
came here to say this, also andorumus tear is from a dungeon quest but still it's amazing. Since you mentioned andormus though, myrmidons headdress as well!
I can cover these in a future video! Thanks for pointing them out.
Can't get summoners blade until 68, it's required level for starting the quest chain
While its cool that these are all from quests, reputation armor would fit the bill, in that case there are much better pieces, continuum blade for example
Rep gear guide is coming!
Just hit 68 as a ret might go get all this gear and start tanking. But I was lucky and I got all the trinkets from brewfest!
nice video :) Subscribed!
Thank you very much!
Dude, can u make a Paladin walk-through Gear for doing stratholme?
Not my arena of expertise, but I'd check tedj out for that video.

So for the Sword Are you required to be Al door or scryer?
And are you sher you can get this at 65 I'm Saying you have to be 68 to get the quwest
There may be some wrong info in this guide since lots of it was made with private server data. Check the quests on WoWhead for up to date info.
@@DevTanks ok thek you for the info
what about a libram mate
How much spellpower do you recommend is good enough to hold threat with naxx geared warrs/mages in the dungeon group? For launch normal dungeons

Keep those mfs in line to gather threat and youll be fine.

Didn’t see libram in the video.
TLDR - Do all the quests in Netherstorm
You should do a ret version!
Is +Spellpower/Healing usually the go to for Prot Pally?
+ Spellpower yes, it ads extra damage to your Holy Spells and therefore you generate more threat. + Healing not so much, since you won't be healing as a tank

This guide we need for Belfs at 60
I'll get it out before the Belfs hit 60
I guess there is a better shoulders with spell damage
the weapon requires shadow labyrinth fyi. great guide ty
I was pretty new to making guides when I made this, there might be a few errors, sorry about that!
spent 3 hours killing fel corrupters at level 66 and never got the mask to drop
I've killed a patrol of 2 corrupters and the two droped it xddd
Relic?
Realistically you want to get the spellpower to cons one from Sethekk Halls, you can get away without a decent one early on.
bruh i think most these quest are lv68... very few of these were active for me
It's possible, I used alot of Private Server data to make this.
So pretty much just do every quest in nether storm haha
For anyone wondering what the stats would look like with this gear equipped I put it into the wowhead gear planner.
