Good video, was looking for something like this. But do you have another trinket option for the people who didnt boost their char and cannot get the boost trinket?
Really good question, I completely overlooked that. If you didn't boost use this for your second trinket option: tbc.wowhead.com/item=18472/royal-seal-of-eldrethalas Or this if the book isn't available or is too expensive on your AH: tbc.wowhead.com/item=4130/smotts-compass
Hey thanks (or tanks ig lol) Ive only really played retail since mop and never tank but got peer pressured into playing and went with a boosted Prot pally. your guide have been immensely useful still for me :)
Thanks for the info! Great video as always. Had some struggle figuring out what to get before tbc drops (outside of pvp and raids) especially as a fresh BE
Good guide Dev - I think only feedback is the Argent Defender shield questline starts with the Archivist quest. Which must be completed before the Head of Balz can be looted. Awesome work though
Another item to think about long-term: Wrath of Cenarius ring from Cenarion Circle rep. This isn't something that will be easy to get right now, but consider coming back and doing a bit of rep farming in Silithus when you're 70. The vanilla reps are much easier to farm now, with every mob giving 10x more rep (and giving rep beyond Honored), and most quests giving 3x-5x more rep, and most related elite enemies being normal now. I've been working on it from neutral since last week and I'm nearly at Exalted, with almost all the required badges. It remains very competitive as an aoe farming/boosting ring into TBC. With a 5% proc rate, gathering 20+ mobs and a single Consecration cast will probably proc it. Gather all the mobs in SM Armory, for instance (50 mobs? 60?) and it will almost certainly proc. Makes it effectively a passive 132 spellpower ring for those situations.
@@DevTanks Oh yea! I figured you already had it. It's something for fresh boosts to think about in the mid/long term. Glad it's great, looking forward to using it.
Ok. So I have never played wow before now. i boosted the paladin i was playing and this video is interesting, for someone that has a pl 65 or 70 waiting after their boost. boosted gear should not be above level 58. that is the level you get boosted to and your suggestions of gear that is 70 75 and 80 is just a slap in the face.
Hey mate; firstly welcome to wow. This was a video I put out when we were waiting for TBC to launch. I think you’re misunderstanding some of the tool tips. There’s 2 levels that go into a piece of gear, first is the level requirement, as far as I can remember nothing in this video is over 60, the second is the item level of a piece of gear, this can be above the required level and determines how many stat points can be assigned to a certain item. That being said, if you have a fresh boosted character these days your best bet is to just quest hellfire for a great set of starter gear. Best of luck on your adventures
I think an updated guide going from boosted straight into Outlands would be quite helpful too. Now that pre-patch has come and gone I feel like most people just skip anything in Classic and just head to Outland at 58.
Honestly with how good the gear is from Hellfire Peninsula, I'd say just doing the quests there set you up really well for tanking ramps and progressing through TBC.
I was making one of these since I hit 60 on my belf yesterday and we have almost the exact same list- except I’m getting some heavy defense pants and the pvp boots for two piece bonus spellpower. Also, mind carver for the weapon since its ez
Based on the fact you play prot I'm assuming you are dungeon grinding, could you do guide on what gear you're going to take if and when it drops and what you intend to go out into the world to grab asap while launch is going on? Might be a bit of a stretch but I imagine quite a few of us would love too see that content as I'm going paladin for the first time and would appreciate this if you could make it happen xo
I used this for a long long time, up to the point when I went SoC, since we scale better with spell power it's a really good option and flurry is a lot of fun.
I'll have more 70 guides available soon, if you haven't seen it, it starts with my Zero RNG gear guide from quests. ua-cam.com/video/_J4wiJnpwY0/v-deo.html
i really liked the guide thouo because this Went for REalistic options which Avarage players will be going for thou, Helped me figuring out what items i should put in my waist, wrist and cloak incase i don't get anything from raid

No problem! Goodluck with your tanking in TBC!

Thanks for the info! It's been like 2 years since I got mine, I must have forgotten that part.
Also, turn in archivist before kill balz or redo living.
great work and knowledge, also great to hear another Aussie hahah
Enjoy your new helm!
@@DevTanks I just dinged it’s on now
For the neck, there's also Pulsating Crystaline Shard from the Shards of Myzrael quest line, which is super easy at ~58 or 60
This here guys is a good tip!
What needs done to get the quest? I have done up through killing Fozruk in Arathi, but still not finding the start of it. Thanks!
Holy shit I needed this a month ago. Great video btw
Thanks!
for the neck Charm of the Shifting Sands takes like 2 hours of rep grinding or buy the scrolls =]
Quality as always!
Glad you think so!

Great Video! Do you think we can boost stockades with boosted gear as prot pala?
Hey, I featured your comment in my Q&A video!

There is at least one other defense chest in the game. I got Warriors Embrace from Avatar of Hakkar in Sunken Temple, which now has 24 defense rating.
Heyyy, I didn't know that! Thanks for pointing that out.
Coffee, breakfast, DevTanks. Perfect.
Perfect!
Finally got this video done, off to bed now. I'll be pinning my fave comment when I wakeup!

Sounds good, best of luck with your tanking adventures!
dont need defence, just grab the green items from first couple of quests in hellfire and you can tank ramps ezpz
Can confirm, did just that on my pala.
as lvl 58??
Can the Dark Iron Helm be sold on AH? cuz there are non on my server :/ What's the best goto to get it? Ask around in trade?

Can you even hold agro as a prot pal if you don’t have spellpower gear?
Dev, what would you consider a decent price for the DMT loot?
I'd be happy to pay upto 50g for the good pieces.

What are your thoughts on flurry axe for speed with + SP enchant?
I used this for a long long time, up to the point when I went SoC, since we scale better with spell power it's a really good option and flurry is a lot of fun.
For a new (newbie) paladin, what is the best SP enchant for flurry? Kinda wanna look into it :)
@@antonwiklund4026 +30 spellpower is the only enchant available. It's not cheap though.
@@DevTanks Ah, obtainable already or is it for late TBC?
@@antonwiklund4026 30 Spellpower in Classic, TBC has a 40 Spellpower version.
How did you skip over Deathbone Chest piece, has the highest defense value in the game (25 defense)
Did anyone else think this was going to be a level 70 fast gearing guide, not a negligible boost to the first couple levels in hellfire?
I'll have more 70 guides available soon, if you haven't seen it, it starts with my Zero RNG gear guide from quests.

belfs can't boost. so no 2nd trink
Check the pinned comment
why no HW healing mace as a weapon ?
The guide is called gear FAST, not gear SLOW.
wondering how many servers had lively UBRS pugging scenes in the weeks, or even months after TBCC launched. guessing zero lol
Yeah this video was made for Pre-Patch!
A more helpful guide would be tbc gear from tbc tbh
Coming soon!
Shame not including Demon Blood trinket.
Change the title as I’m looking for pre bis now bro !
Good call, updated the title!
You should rename this video Prepatch gearing. Technically this has nothing to do with TBC..
Title updated!
You missed gloves T_T
Check the Answering Your Questions video on my channel where I talk about gloves since I’m silly and forget them here.
too late , tbc just hit :P
Just do 5 quests in outlands and you'll have better gear than all this
This was a video made for the Pre-patch :)
What you think about hand of the righteous at SM Cath while leveling? 8 spirit and 5 spell
It's not the worst, it has really nice DPS on it. It's just you don't really get anything else useful on it besides +5 spell power.
