From Zimbabwe, just wanted to send you much encouragement, keep safe, and do your own "thing", your way. Very impressed with your solo reno. Sending all encouragement
It makes such a difference. The old wallpaper left the place looking really shabby when it was removed. It feels fresh now. I couldn't help myself and did a little bit more this evening!
Enjoy your day with George. You and Claude are sailing along so smoothly! House is looking great and once the kitchen plumbing is in place and the floor hole filled (haha don't forget) then the cabinets can go where they belong and wow - will that be encouraging for you. You are an inspiration to many. Hey - where are Mina and Mana? I miss their sweet faces.
We had a good day today. A big walk with Mina and Mana, lots of playtime, a bath in the kitchen sink and a few naps! William is home with us tomorrow so another boys day! Mina and Mana shall be coming to work with me again on Saturday.
Thanks Helen. I always like to try new things with the videos. It's very easy to do the same old same old all the time but I know from watching other channels it gets boring quite fast. I'll catch up on rest once we move in. It felt like spring here today and I'm looking forward to exploring the region with the family once the weather gets better.
Good man Dave you're mastering that plastering, good idea to bypass that water supply feed, at least you will know how your new feed is fed through house, keep on trucking forward. 👍👨🔧🛠️
Not easily! There are two types. In the bedroom it is more like a cement. It will probably need to be ground down to get to the wood. On the landing it is more of a glue so possibly using hot water but I'm not sure yet.
Great progress today after the week .. brilliant that Claude got the wallpaper off - another thing ticked off the list .. how many weeks before you move in ?
Hi Tarik. It's a funny one with the insulation on these old buildings. You get a very in-depth report when you buy a house here on the the current energy rating and what you need to do to improve that. Insulating the outside walls is on there but not the inside walls. I did some digging and apparently if you just do the inside it stops the house from cooling down in the summer months and can cause issues with moisture having nowhere to go in winter which is why it is so important to plaster with lime. There are grants to help with the insulating but because we have just moved here we don't qualify for them at the moment.
We think you are doing a great job on your own, you should be proud of yourself ❤
Thanks a million. It's lovely comments like yours that remind me to be proud of the work!

Hello Cynthia. Sending greetings to you in Zimbabwe!! Thank you for the encouragement. It really does help to keep motivated.
Very impressed with your stamina and courage. Amazing. 👍
Thanks Chris. The drive to have a family home for Maeva and the boys keeps me going every day.
You and your father in law are doing a great job. I am old and I look better with the lights off too. 🤣
I'm going to ban lights in the kitchen! Might just remove the bulbs and just cook and eat by candle light!
nice plastering again, really starting to look good with paint on the walls.

As I always said to my friend Manu the finish is "RUSTIC"
Absolutely!!!!

Doing great!
Hive five. Thanks!
The artistic application of plaster at the start was good! You have great stamina, but you look wrecked, mind yourself!

You’re a dab hand with the trowel - must have been a plasterer in your previous life. Great work.
Well I definitely wasn't a plumber!
Excellent. Keep your eyes on the prize we will cheer you on.❤
Thanks Beverly!

Cheers Rasher. Thanks for the encouragement.
What an undertaking. How do you take the adhesive off of the floor?

Your sure powering on with that ceiling. Hows your arm, hands, neck and shoulders? Amazing job of the plastering 👍Your definitely getting there
I had some of the same wiring at my French house and some of the nails that held the capping wood on were live were they had gone through the wires
That's crazy! Surprised more people weren't electrocuted back in the day with the leaky roofs and dodgy wiring!
I would have removed that gray paint before plastering, since the entire sheet could fall to the floor, that's my opinion.
I'll do a test in the morning and see how well it is stuck. I'd rather it fall off now than when the kitchen is in!!!!

20 days Saundra. It's in the video title!!!!
I’m always so excited for the video that I don’t read the title 😝💕
How your arms haven’t dropped off yet, I don’t know. You’ve worked like a demon. Enjoy your day off!
My neck was the problem doing the ceiling! The arms were grand. But I had to keep stopping as the pain was so bad. It's grand now thankfully.
You will not insulate walls ?!
