I watched both of their PA High School finals. The first when Lee destroyed DeSanto with a 15-0 tech fall, when DeSanto was 50-0 on the year. The next year, DeSanto could have finished his Senior season, and last chance to win a PA title, by taking the easy road and going up a weight. Instead he went down a weight, specifically to face the guy who demolished him the year before. Spencer Lee sat out part of season with a torn ACL, but decided to give it a try, because he knew he would regret having not tried. Some people will say Lee wasn't himself and was injured. I admire the hell out of both of these guys. Lee, for thinking he can do it on one leg; and DeSanto for having the amazing confidence and determination to try to take on a guy who totally manhandled him previously. DeSanto was in the right place at the right itime to make history, only because he believed in himself. Those are great lessons for everyone in wrestling and life. I wish I had that kind of confidence in High School. I have great admiration for both of these guys, and this is coming from a former Penn State wrestler. Great interview.

@@andizzyJD12 Fix is one guy I can't see DeSanto outlasting in terms of motor. Fix isn't a great offensive wrestling, say as good as Lee, but he never stops engaging.

Unbelievable these Two together after their last high school state championship match. It is awesome to see them together making themselves even better at the next level. They'll definitely push each other day in and day out so that Spencer Lee can win another NCAA title and so that Austin Desanto gets his first NCAA championship. Keep up the hard work and dedicatio to get that championship.

Interesting relationship man. The guy that lost last time each other is kind of the mentor. Most likey because he smoked him in state finals and went on to be a two time national champ and his knee wasn’t right for that match but still he did lose straight up but is the better wrestler and more mature. The humbleness and good heart Lee has is pretty amazing.

They are amazing wrestlers I'm a huge fan of both I saw desanto wrestle Lehigh in Drexel and it was because Desanto kept eyeing down Scotty Parker. I love both of them and wish them the best of luck

I’ve been in many wrestling practices. How spencer lee describes the Hawkeyes practices. That’s the recipe for success in wrestling. If you’re partners don’t have that mentality. The key ingredient is missing!
Desanto comes off as a kid only his teammates would like.. It doesn't bother you when it's not your face he's barking at when he beats you and it's not your arm he's trying to break when he's losing..
