It's true though. There were a few matches back in high school where I shouldn't have looked at the clock. Takedowns happen fast a lot of the time.
My coaches would yell at us about that. Lol I still struggle to not look at the clock while at work behind the bar on the weekends. 😔😅

Suriano has been internally driven since birth. We used to say he popped out wearing headgear. He was winning tough at 6 years old. His parents were amazingly supportive. He started private lessons with Damian Logan at a young age and continued with him for years. But Nick brought the foundation from the beginning that his coaches and parents were able to build on. And he is a true student of the game. Driven really doesn’t even come close to describing his attitude. He’s never one for small talk. Mostly all business. My son grew up and wrestled in north jersey so was in the same room with Nick on and off. Unfortunate it didn’t work out with Cael (I don’t know the story - none of my business really) but obviously it worked out at Rutgers.

Im from England, Wrestling is pretty much non existent as a spectator sport over here.
I have never watched wresting or ever really been exposed to it. I have to say, these two short docs on Suriano are brilliant. The kid is fascinating, his mindset resonates with me a lot, he is very competitive but also clearly very free and creative. Ive enjoy them so much that it sparked an interest in wresting in general, now I know a few more names, a few legends of the sport etc and am hoping to start watching as a fan.
The fact is every great thing is built on a story. Sell someone a story and you can sell them anything. Telling the stories of these young men only propels the sport forward, it makes it more personal. I will be following Nicks final year at Michigan and hopefully through this I can gain an understanding of the sport and follow it in a deeper and more consistent way
Thanks Flo, this was great. Please do more, im sure there are many more young men with a lot to say and a story to tell. I think US Wrestling just gained another fan from across the pond
    God bless

The amount of self-reflection self-confidence and self-awareness you have to have to be an elite wrestler people can't even imagine.
