    Ingredients:-
    2 lbs of fresh mussels (900 grams)
    1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
    3 large cloves of garlic sliced
    1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley plus a few sprigs to garnish
    2 chili peppers or 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
    3/4 white wine (170 ml)
    28 ounces San Marzano peeled tomatoes or chopped tomatoes (800 grams).
    Directions:-
    Step#1 - In a large sauté pan on high heat add the oil, garlic, chili pepper, and parsley.
    Step#2- Sauté until garlic is golden, add the white wine (Pinot Grigio) and let it evaporate.
    Step#3- Once the oil starts frying again add the tomatoes. If you’re using plum tomatoes crush them with your hands. Lower the heat to medium and let it cook for 10 minutes.
    Step#4- Rinse mussels under cold water and remove the beard that’s on the side.
    Step#5- Once marinara is cooked add the mussels and higher the heat.
    Step#6- Place lid on the pan and every 2 minutes give it a shake.
    Step#7- After 5 minutes remove the lid and let some water evaporate for a couple of minutes.
    They are now ready to eat!

    I live on the coast of Connecticut . We get our mussels fresh from the deeper waters. Mussels Fra Diavolo is great and I like the way you make it. However I like the way I eat it . Great Job !!!

    Just found your channel. Watched 3 of them already within 20 minutes. I subscribed and hit the little bell too. As a recording engineer and very sensitive to sound, you need to have a personal mic, clipped on you so your voice isn’t bouncing all over your kitchen. 🎼🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶

    I love mussels and can’t wait to try this simple recipe. I found your channel 2 weeks ago and I’ve watched so many of your recipes. Will attempt to make your Chicken Stuffed with Mozzarella and Roasted Peppers tomorrow and can’t wait to make your St Joseph’s Zeppole for St Joseph’s Day this Friday. God Bless You and your family!
    BTW, my father also told me that they crush unripe and bruised tomatoes together with some ripe ones when they make crushed tomatoes so I also only buy plum and crush them with my hands or with an immersion blender.

      So sorry. I clean them right before using. I also buy them the same day because you don’t want them to die before cooking. They should be alive. If any are open just discard.

    American Italians put wine in a bunch of garlic frying in a simil olive oil

    Probably the best recipe of Mussels Marinara. I known it’s a simple dish but the taste is perfection. You can taste all the ingredients equally. Definitely aded to my favourites 👌🏽

      One of my cousins from Long Island just sent me a picture of her front yard. The message had many many curse words in it describing how they got six more inches of snow. She makes me laugh she's so funny. You would think a drunken sailor wrote that message to me but I have no room to talk. I'm the same way. LOL

I'd go to the store right now but I will only go during the week when it's not as crowded. Too dangerous for a non vaccinated 66 year old with co morbidities. Ugh..But I will for sure!
