Several Federal Bureau of Investigation agents executed a search warrant at the Belair Edison Safe Streets location Thursday morning, along with the homes of two Safe Streets employees.
The raid, which took place in the morning sometime before 10 a.m. according to neighbors who saw the FBI agents at the location. While the FBI is staying tight-lipped about the scope of the probe, sources close to the investigation tell FOX45 News federal agents are looking at possible connections with the Black Guerilla Family gang, or BGF.
Safe Streets is Baltimore City’s flagship gun violence prevention program, according to Mayor Brandon Scott. There are 10 different locations across the city and the employees, dubbed violence interrupters, work in a small, set zone. The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, or MONSE, oversees the implementation of the program, though the day-to-day operations are overseen by two nonprofits: Catholic Charities and LifeBridge Health.

Hard to get out if your born there, the crab in the barrel mentality is real. These people will team up and sabotage your life if they see you making progress or even kill you. Also, some people make the mistake of trying to reach back and help others and get stuck. It’s easy from the outside looking in, but it’s hard to part ways with somewhere you are from and have people you love not knowing they don’t love you, it’s hard for some people to walk this world alone, but if you can survive your youth you will learn to or live in misery until you die.

This is sad. So many times good intentions to help those with troubled past can become victims by the ones they are trying to help. I’m sure they have helped some who really wanted help. Why not put the money towards youth crime prevention. Stop the crime’s before they start.
