  • The State Superintendent and the Baltimore City Schools CEO are two of the highest-ranking public education officials in Maryland.
Mohammed Choudhury earns $310,000 a year as the Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, and he’s currently fighting for his job.
Dr. Sonja Santelises, last year, earned $445,000 in total compensation as the CEO of Baltimore City Public Schools.
Both are stewards of the public trust, making decisions that impact tens of thousands of Maryland public school students. And both are under fire over Project Baltimore findings.

The reality is the students and their parents are failing themselves. When zero kids in more than a dozen schools can demonstrate proficiency in math, it's not the schools, it's the students themselves. It's all part of the greater crisis in the community that nobody wants to talk about.

They rob peter to pay Paul, they table almost Every Republican bill, they are violating law. O'Malley the Leprechaun banned Bushmaster AR 15's because of the name as his parting legislation. Demonrats have destroyed Maryland. Where did all the money go that was given to Maryland & Baltimore? It hasn't gone where it was intended. Funny it can't be found after Cunnings died. Never heard if they checked his wifes accounts either. They hide their ill gotten gains in family members names, like Biden does. Thats what criminals do. Everyone in office needs to be replaced. This school system has failed our children for years. I placed my son in private school from k-12. I refused to allow him to be a statistic. I’m sure the lack of education and pride children have for themselves contributes to the crimes they are committing. Parents and the school system are failing our children. I now have 2 grandsons and I am leaving MD for a better life. I refuse to lose them to Maryland, especially Baltimore City.

The community has to wake up and fix itself. When you "graduate" from grade 12 and you can't even read, then it is YOUR fault, and not the school's fault.

Oh right, because the lowest funded public k-12 schools are overwhelmingly white states. Utah, Idaho, Oklahoma etc. Look at whos in charge in this scandal, who is even surprised they can't run things properly. You kid should be able to read before even being enrolled in kindergarten. If they can't there is either something mentally wrong with them or you have failed as a parent. It's not hard to read to your little ones, but apparently for some parents that's like climbing a mountain.

With the billions that's been poured into education over the past 50 years, the education system is the US has been in the toilet for years. The school administrators are the biggest hoax today and one of the key reasons why things are so bad in the schools. All that tax and grant money is being funneled into their overpaid salaries while some teachers are left scrambling for basic supplies like pencils, paper, and books. Just keep lowering the standards and having social promotion----and you, too, can end up like Baltimore and so many other school systems across the US.
