Nice system you have there. I am running the Anthem AVM 70 and Emotiva XPA 5 CH Amp in my system. You indicated a Remote control issue, my go to is the URC Universal remote Control. Works every feature, with every component in my system.
Please do a video on the VCR or super VHS JVC you have. Super cool to have in your setup. Also, subscribed.
Most people think it’s crazy but I love nostalgia. I want a laser disc player. Mine stopped years ago. I will think about doing a video.
I upgraded from a Marantz SR8015 to an Arcam AV41 and PA720. Sounds better to me even without enabling DIRAC (less vailed). Should try a SDP-58, I heard it can go toe to toe with the AV90 but each one has its own signature sound stage so might come down to personal preference. I think the SDP-58 uses the ESS 9027 and the AV90 uses the ESS 9038, though not sure how much the DAC actually makes a difference. All are audiophile grade.
Great stuff buddy, theater looks great. Happy Holidays to you and the family
The Trinnov 16 is $19,500 If you use external DAC's it can have 20 channels instead of just 16. Buying it second hand, it can be had for $13k - $14k.
The channels can be assigned virtually. You could run 20 subwoofer channels just to play around. Pretty cool.
Performing basic calibrations seems like a no brainer for serious users. As much time as you spend on your system, it seems strange that you do not play with adjustments in your own theater. I encourage you to save the current calibration, and try doing this on your own. You seem to be serious about this in the long haul.
Sweet. I am running Arcam and had it professionally calibrated with Dirac and man it sounds so good. It blew my Emotiva away.
Hello! Do you have separates, processor and amps?
I have an AVR Onkyo rz50 with separate amps, when I added external amps and I heard an improvement in sound so now I am tempted to go with a separate pre/pro... Arcam in this case. But the thing is I don't have a dedicated room for my theater...I use my living room....So everyone tells me I don't need a pre amp processor, that the difference in sound will be minimal.... What do you think?
How good is arcam?
@cizcalodiablopanzon I have separates. I originally had the Emotiva XMC 1, it was really buggy but it sounded good. However I wanted to go with 4 atmos speakers. I was in the market for a new processor and Audio Advice had a sale that was too good to pass up, so I went with the Arcam avr11 which is a receiver with 11 preouts. I added a 5 channel amp and I have all 11 channels in the preouts. I am using directional quad microphone cables, Canare l-4e6s with some nice RCA connectors. The soundstage is wide and no hiss. I had the room professionally calibrated with Dirac and it sounds awesome. The calibration took like 4.5 hours. I recommend the Arcam avr11 especially for the sale price and just run it in preout mode. However if you have the budget to go with AV41, I say go with it. I went with the AVR11 because I am only running 11 speakers and the sale was too good to pass up.
@@cizcalodiablopanzonDo you have a larger room or inefficient speakers? If so a processor and larger external amps make sense. Any of the Arcam AVRs else processor sound great especially for the sale prices.
@@truwarrior22 hello there! My room is 12w x 15l x 8h, my speakers and subs are all Klipsch from the reference line and the amps powering all the speakers are from osd nero line. The AVR is Onkyo rz50.
I really like the way it sounds but this hobby seems to never end lol.
When I changed my Dolby digital 5.1 receiver to Atmos I heard a huge difference, the I changed my home theater in a box speakers to Klipsch and I also heard a huge difference .. I added the amps and I liked it even more.... So it seems everything gets better with every addition.
Hi! Very nice theater you got there. My next goal is to have a dedicate room but for now my living room doubles as my theater.
I have a question How would you compare anthem vs arcam?
I currently have an onkyo rz50 with external amps and I love it. But there's a good deal on a arcam av40 pre-/pro. I don't know if I need it, will there be a massive improvement in sound? Being all things equal.
Thanks a lot.
In my Rig, I run an ABM-90 along with Parasound JC-Mono blocks and a 5 channel Parasound for my center/rears. It sounds fab. I also use the Panny UD-9000 in both my systems. I use an EverSolo-A6-ME for my streamer! 21:34
No regrests dumping the Emotiva?
@@chebrubin none at all
I’m very happy with my Denon 3800. It gives me everything I wanted in an AVR. I run a 5.4.6 setup. I just replaced 2 Klipsch R-12’s with dual SVS PB 1000 Pro’s to complete my set of 4.
Well good for you. No one cares.
We are talking about processors.
Me too. Skyfall 007 from 2012 in Auro 3D is my demo for the height channels.
Hai I too own the denon 3800 and run a 5.1.4 auro 3D setup , which according to you is better 5.1.4 or 5.1.6 and why do you feel so ? I am planning to change my configuration to 5.1.6 that's why I am curious to know which is better 😊
Go with the 5.1.6 setup, since you are using the AURO 3D sound codec. All the height channels will be in use. You have only 1 sub, or multiple subs?
@@wendellwendellb339 sadly only one sub , can we do a video call ,would like to discuss things about the pros and cons that's if you don't mind 😉
Overall it was a great review.
Unfortunately you won’t be able to just split the side surrounds. You will end up getting issues with comb filtering. You will need an external dsp for delays and levels to mitigate combing
I’d be shocked if you couldn’t add the AVM70 & AVM90 to the Harmony. Maybe it wont work with IP control but has to work for through IR. However, I also love web-ui’s too. The one on my processor got me hooked and to look into alternate options to the Harmony. Been using Roomie remote which is a great option to use with a dedicated ipad. So much better than the Harmony for my use case. I was using the Elite plus a dedicated iPad for the processor but now it’s simplified with just the iPad running roomie.
Equalizer 3 is DTS X IMAX Enhanced. That's one movie I can think of.
You can only run 2 subs 👎
The AVM 90 can run 4 subs, you’re confusing it to the AVM 70.
@@rickguenther1013 I’m using a mini dsp so I can run as many as the dsp can handle.
@@myhometheater7029 i see sooooooooooo many people having problems with sub output after calibration. ARC does a really bad job with my most important thing that i love the most in 🏡 home theater and that's bass 🍿🎬
Hate to give u bad news 🗞️ but it’s $6000 now not $8,500 😮
That’s no bad news it’s ok. I’m glad it’s come down.
