- Emma Resmini performs Synchronisms No. 1 by Mario Davidovsky on December 8, 2016.
Written in 1963, Synchronisms No. 1 is the first piece ever written for live acoustic flute and electronics. It is the first in a series of twelve musical compositions by Davidovsky for solo or ensemble live instruments and pre-recorded tape. The electronics track was created by literally splicing pieces of tape together. Says Davidovsky, "In those works, I try to keep, on the one hand, as much as possible of what is characteristic of the electronic instrument [medium], and, on the other, what is characteristic of the live performer."
