I really want to get a male leopard gecko, and have just started saving up. Your channel has been helping me so much with doing research, and I want to thank you a ton, you're a massive help!
haha ah now cresties are a whole different thing because no matter what, they will poop when they want 😂 I will say Lyra has been doing better lately, but yeah I always have a piece of tissue nearby just in case lol
For my rescue leopard geckos I use the rectangle plastic tubs we get bugs in for humid/moist hides. Its a great use for them and cheap alternative. I like using the bug tubs for them as its a use for the tubs and if one of my guys gets sick or poops in there its easy to just throw it out.
Omg that's what I always used to do too :D Cricket box, hole in the front, tape down any sharp edges and they were good to go. I totally forgot about that :D
I want to know if it's bad that my female crested Gecko always gets pregnant just right after laying eggs? I noticed that she ain't having time to rest
5:26. My crestie used to do that too. I think she was stressed out when I was handling her and she would poop so that I would put her back in her tank to clean it up. Somehow, I think she associated pooping with going back to her plants. She very quickly stopped that behavior after I kept handling her for a few more minutes after she pooped. Maybe try that with your Leo Emma if nothing works😉
Wanted to add. My leopard geckos used to poop on me because they would rather be in their tanks and werent super comfortable with me yet. Its actually BAD to put them back into their tank after they poop on you. You dont want to reinforce a bad habit by giving them what they want. By putting them back, you are showing them that by pooping on you, they get to go back to their nice dark hide. Anytime my geckos poop on me, I clean it up and make them sit with me for atleast 20minutes before really cleaning up and returning him or her to their cage.
Thank you for all he videos you make! I'm getting my very first leopard gecko very soon, and I've been watching a lot of your videos, they're very helpful :D
Yay thank you for answering my question!! I never thought that it could be the darkness of the cold hide that would make them want to hang out in there more. I’m definitely going to add more plants to her tank.
Question : can you over clutter an enclosure ? Hii ! I’ve had my lovely leo for almost a year , and after two bad cases of leo owning I’m a bit paranoid , I’ve got her in the Exo Terra medium low 24x18x12 I believe , and she’s been doing lovely , but I’ve noticed that she dosent move around nearly as much , and I’m wondering if this is because I’ve over cluttered the enclosure (its stuffed with hides im guiltily in spoiling) she has three that go along the back , and an extra one directly infront in a front corner , along with some driftwood platforms and two large hammocks that cover the full back of the tank , and samwitched between that all are two jars , I don’t really mess with her much ofless she is out so I’ve had no problem with stacking things , my biggest concern is I’ve been working up to building her a massive viv for her to live out her days in . And now I’m worried if it would be to much ? Or maybe she would appreciate the larger space and just less stuff in the space , it’s always possible that she is still settling into the new peices (more driftwood and hammocks) but I’m still a little concerned ?
I think they like to be able to hide in and climb on things, I have found the leos I use deep heat projectors for use up far more of their viv as the heat they get from it is more usable energy in comparison to the heat mat. I would recommend using one of those. But in the mean time just make sure that there's enough for for your gecko to properly stretch out and walk around :)
Your videos are amazing and i just got myself a leopard gecko. He hasn’t been eating and is always trying to come out scratching on the tank . When I take him out he walks around on my hands.
Also my leopard gecko is growing very slowly. She’s around 40+ grams and she’s over a year old. She’s healthy and her tail is fat but she’s just been growing very slowly
If your gecko only goes to the cold side try swapping the cold hide and hot hide because it might just be that it doesn't like its hot hide but does like its cold side
im literally binging all of your videos to put into a giant report to give to my parents about why i should get a leopard gecko, thanks so much for all this info :D
This question may get lost but, do I need to use a uvb when I have a heat mat? For my gecko, (leopard) I have a red and white uvb, and a heat mat (with a thermostat!) so will I need to use the red and white uvb?
Love your videos, they really helped me out when I first got my leopard gecko. I had a few questions that hopefully you could answer: In your videos you’ve said that leopard geckos poop once a day but mine only goes about once a week, I feed him around 20 mealworms every 3 days. Second question: Your leopard geckos are always so active in your videos but mine seems to just lay in his hides all day. Hope you can help
Laying in his hides all day is normal. The reason he doesn’t poop often is due to his diet. Mealworms are fatty and difficult to digest, they’re not a healthy staple diet at all. They should not be getting so many at a time either. Feed mainly live crickets or Dubia/discoid roaches. It’s also great to use other worms such as silkworms, black soldier fly larvae, superworms, and hornworms for variety.
when ur leopard gecko keeps pooping on you i think they want to go back in their cages cuz my leopard gecko pooped on me twice. But any advice why my leopard gecko doesnt poop when he is in his cage? Last question, I just bought a hammock for him but he wont use it like i thought he was how do i get him to use it? If you reply to this comment tysm for answering my questions
Bit of a long question here: so my leo Pete crawled inside a re-usable shopping bag while he was out exploring. I looked in and he was rubbing his face, belly, and tail all over the bag. Others have said that he is scent marking, which seems to fit his behavior. What I was wondering, is is scent marking stressful for a leo? Some comments on my video said it might be stressful for him, and that I shouldn't let him go back in the bag (which I was doing frequently as I thought it was cute). Any thoughts??
Oops I was 20 minutes late😭. Anyway keep up the amazing work and hope you have a good night. I may be getting a leopard gecko next year so I am trying to get as much information as possible and you have been a big help thanks allot 😃.
I’ve had my Leo since June and got it as a juvenile, it seems very healthy; growing, shedding, and has a chunky tail. It’s also active at night and likes to come out of the tank for a wonder, however it has all of a sudden not eaten in 4/5 days and doesn’t seem interested in it’s food. Any help?
For the question of the gecko hanging out in the cool side, I do have a thermostat that regulates the warm side temp (88 degrees) but ever since I last cleaned my geckos tank (I used watered down white vinegar as always) she has only stayed at the cold side and I can’t figure out why. Her warm side hide is enclosed so very dark. As is her cold hide, I’ve washed the warm hide multiple times Incase is smelled of vinegar but that hasn’t helped. Does anyone have any ideas?
I was saving for a baby leopard gecko and I just got him yesterday and your channel has helped me so much also should I use a humidity box still for him, I have one but I am useing eco earth but Is it ok if I take it out?
what thermometer do you use? lol i love your videos they make so much sense and have helped me so so much and have also made me MUCH more confident!! :)
Could you link the deep heat projector you are using? Don't know if you have mentioned it in another video, I'm still working my way through all of your videos Also I love that you also use silly decor at times (the christmas tree)... Even though I'm going bioactive route, I'm making some little decor just for shits and giggles, such as a mushroom and I also want to make a garden gnome. Just so if you look in you do a double take when you spot it 😂 who knows, maybe I'll make a pokemon or just a pickle with a face. I'll see whatever comes to mind when I'm done with the mushroom I've started. I also want to make a cat as a memorial to our boy that passed away 2 days ago. He suddenly became extremely I'll and it just happened so fast. He was a fantastic cat
Do leopard geckos get traumatized if you put them really close together for a while ?? My leopard geckos were very calm all the time and after I played with them they turned aggressive every time I handle them . Is this normal ?
My leopard gecko just shed and today had a soft poop, is that normal after eating shed? He also hasn't eaten and I don't know if that's normal after recently shedding too.
So only thing that different from my leopard gecko is that she has round pupils I dont even know if that normal your videos are awesome I get most of my knowledge from your videos
have you ever thought that if your leopard gecko keeps going to the cold side because its hungry? if the heat helps them digest their food and if they are hungry they have probably don't want to digest anymore food so they go to the cold side. idk just a thought :)
Hmm that is an interesting thought actually, kind of like a voluntary brumation lol, I think they'd do this if food was sparse maybe, but you'd think in captivity they'd get food frequently.
I don’t know if the comments is a place for me to ask my question or if I should go somewhere else, but my female leopard gecko has shed stuck in her nostril. I know in bearded dragons you can just get in there and pull it out but since this issue is in a leo and their nostrils are smaller do I need to do something else? I saw your video about the shed being stuck on their toes and on their head but maybe I’m not seeing one about the nostrils?
You should try and avoid it in the first place, as it's going to be more difficult to control where they go, or catch them if they fall/jump. With that said, when our geckos get to my back, they are usually trying to go down, so I just put my hand/arm slowly under them behind me, and they'll usually climb onto it instead of trying to hold on vertically. You need to be careful not to spook them, but either they'll climb onto your arm, or they'll move back up or around to where you can see them again and control them better. :) TL;DR: don't let them in the first place. Give them better surface than your back and they'll climb off it.
I find this happens a lot with young geckos, or new ones lol I just always used to make sure someone was with me when this happened, so that they can get the gecko off of me lol. The other day I was in a reptile shop and was about to handle a chameleon - it went straight behind my neck 🙈
She posted a poll recently asking about what to do with ant updates, you should check out the community tab on her channel. Frequent ant updates are hard, especially with small colonies, because while they might have a rich life, it's hard to capture interesting footage every week, and they'll grow slowly, so it's easy to fall into boring people with your updates. I think she's managed a good balance between updates :) Also, expect a lot less updates during winter, as ants will just hibernate for a few months, and will be even less eventful.
I have two leopard geckos been having mine for a week tomorrow an got another one sunday yesterday an they get along super well. But when they try to climb the glass tank does it mean they wanna get out or could it be getting too hot or too cold. Now the one i had for aweek. Already knows her or his name which is Jacinto. An i try to get her or him to come an trust my hand to hold her what should i do.
I have a young adult leopard gecko that always used to poop on me or somewhere while out, such as on a cushion or the table, often he would sneak somewhere and do one. I genuinely think this was because he didn't like going in his tank because he seemed to hold it in until I got him out. One time I went away for 3 days and as soon as I got him out he did a massive poo! I now have a young baby and don't get chance to get the gecko out much so he has started going in his tank more often but I do think he's not happy about it, even though I clear it away as soon as I see it. My theory is he doesn't like his tank to have poop in it, especially as his poop spot is near his warm hide, even though he picked that spot himself! He's a fussy thing. The other day when I had him out for the first time in ages he climbed on my head and pooped! Bless him 😂
Hi, Please could I have some advice. We got a baby gecko from pets at home. He or she haha seems to be a healthy size etc when we got him he won’t eat his mealworms at all. I think his had 2 from when we got him. We’ve had him for 3 Days now. The 2nd day we had him he ate all his crickets we gave him 6. Today he is not interested he had one. That he hunted. The rest we’ve left in. How long do I leave them in? As today he has taken no interest in them at all he came out had a poo then went in to his cool side. I’m just over worrying that he isn’t happy or he doesn’t like it. Or his too stressed to why he isn’t eating today.? Thanks Lisa x
Love your videos! Quick question: would you recommend eco earth as a substrate? I want to switch to something more natural (I have reptile carpet), but i'm in the US and can't get Arcadia products
Frizzy Mary eco earth is fine for them, however I tried it for a couple months and it is AWFUL when trying to clean their tanks. I switched back to reptile carpet on the cold side because it’s much easier to maintain. I have moss on the warm side
yes, as too high of humidity in the whole tank for too long will cause them to probably develop respiratory issues. humidity for the whole tank is perfect 30%-40%, which is normally a house's humidity.
You might have the opposite problem, and might have to make sure their tank is not too moist, with some sort of dehydration. Their natural habitat is desert-like, so they might get breathing issues if there's too much moisture in the air. Basically what zoeee marieee said.
Oh no i wonder if ive been stopping my gecko too soon i just got him 3 days ago first day i gave him 6 meal worms i think then i gave him 7or 8 next day and last night i gave him 10 should i he letting him have more im not sure of the size of the meal worms i just picked an emergency 50 ct from petsmart untill my other feeder insects arrive he is supposed to be a juvenile but looks very small and baby like to me i am new to owning one though so hard telling
My gecko has several hides and i do mean several but he perferred one that i had wouldnt use any other hide and it was in the cold side of his enclosure so i moved it over to the warm side problem solved lol
Ok, this Video is Awesome!!! Leopard Gecko you inspired me to get a Leopard Gecko fo my own and could not be happier with her, Her name is Lemon. I just have a few questions. 1. I have had my mealworms for like 5 weeks and have gotten NO PUPAS. NONE. I have NO idea why! I'm not complaining I'm just curious if it might be a problem or if I'm doing something right or wrong. 2. I right now am housing her in a 20-gallon Aquarium because I'm a cheap person on a tight budget and she seems happy with it. I have a reptile screen over it and she seems happy but I REALLY like the ones that have doors. Do you know any of the brands that have them cheaper? XD 3. This is not a question but I just wanted to say that I really appreciated your videos and your quality information was a shoulder to lean on. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing!!
How many crickets would u give an adult female gecko who eats every 3 days? I usually go for about 6-7, if the crickets are a little bigger i usually go for 5. Is this okay? She is not skinny at all, so i feel like im doing all right, but i just wanted to make sure
Great video and tips thank you, why is my Leo only eating two or three mealworms or crickets every other week I feed him or two weeks? I honestly forget how often I’m supposed to feed him lol so I do keep going back to that video
This isn’t really related to your video but I figured anyone looking in the comments would enjoy a story about a funny leopard gecko. Idk. So I got my first two leopard geckos around 2011. At the time I was told you could keep two females together so that’s what I did. As the two girls got bigger, we got a very large tank to give them more space (48x12x24 high). This new tank had to go just eye level with my Boston terrier. He wanted to eat the geckos and would repeatedly attack the glass when they moved. At first they were scared but within a week they ignored him completely (they understood glass better than the dog). This went on until a month later the bigger female began what I can only assume was intentionally rubbing against the glass to mess with the dog. She only did this when he was in the room and stared at him while she did it. She would even go as far as to put her belly against the side and flail her legs as he repeatedly smashed his poor ignorant face into the glass. To this day probably my favorite pet memory. I just thought maybe someone on here would get a good little laugh out of what gave me hours of entertainment as a kid.
Thank you! I'm hoping to move her over to substrate eventually but I'm nervous she'll end up eating it (she had to go to the vet before as she ate sphagnum moss so I'm a bit worried about giving her eco earth or earth mix)
TweetyBirdies I would still recommend a heat mat with a thermostat because that is the best heat source you can give them. It helps them digest food better than any other heat sources.
I've just gotten a new leopard gecko about 4 days ago, he was on crickets when I got him, but I switched to mil worms and still not eating and what he has eaten (2 mil worms)he has regurgitated everything I'm scared but he doesn't seem to be losing weight but he has only pooped once as well after I gave him a drop of baby laxative... I'm very worried about Nico! I've already become attached and I dont want him to die... the temp I keep his cage is between 77 and 85 and I keep a bowl of water and a bowl of live mil worms but hes still not eating or pooping plz help?!
How often should I dust my feeder insects? And should I do vitamin dust more or less often than calcium dust? I'm considering getting a leopard gecko and I'm scared I'm going to screw something up
Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings (one needs d3 unless you use UVB). Or Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding if they’re over six months.
It's easier to tell in the first year as their pattern develops a lot in the first year, and their weight changes. However past the year mark, its a little more difficult.
Do you have a video as to how to convince your parents to get a leopard gecko? My mom doesn’t understand how easy and good of a pet leopard geckos are, she thinks they’re going to be really annoying
Leopard Gecko thanks for the reply it looks like a good one do you have any idea if a exo terra faunarium would work because the one I have they keep escaping
Your channel helped me alot and I recently got a leapord gecko. I've researched alot and I think its a raptor. It has snake eyes with red pupils and I've seen pics of baby raptors and it looks similar
So for the longest time I have not been dusting my meal worms, a year at least of no multivitamin. (My mother was taking care of her for a while) shes a very poor Hunter. Recently I picked up some multivitamin as I'm taking care of rastaban again and after I started dusting them she stopped finishing her food? I don't know if it's the color that makes them harder to see after dusting or if it's the taste. It seems like she doesn't even know that the last 4 or 5 worms aren't even there. Like 2-3 days will pass and she won't eat the remaining food until I take them out and put in fresh worms. And then it's just the same thing for the next 2-3 days... Eats 70% when the food is put in the tank. Doesn't touch the rest till there's more. I giver her about 10-12 mealworms every time I feed her. Idk. I'm gonna get some wax worms soon. I know she'll eat those 😈 she's a very healthy gecko her tail is as wide as her head and she's of course still gorgeous.
She does not sound healthy. Her tail should not be as wide as her head. She sounds severely obese. Mealworms are fatty and aren’t healthy for their main diet at all, and waxworms are even worse and would not be a good idea. She needs to be put on a diet. I would stop feeding mealworms and waxworms completely for now until she gets back to a healthier weight. Crickets, Dubia roaches, silkworms, and/or black soldier fly larvae once a week would be a good diet (considering adults at a healthy week should be fed twice a week).
I have found a hollowed-out log in my woods and I really wanted to use it. Would this be a good hiding cave for my gecko? I just want to have more naturalistic environment for him
I got my gecko around by the end of may and he still wont do and poop til i am to sleep what should i do he also just poops whenever i take him out at different times
Leopard Gecko i have ab urgent issue. I just got my leopard Gecko yesterday and i seen that he has been inside his jungle log all day so far. I cant reach him as he Is currently in the back log that has no opening. He keeps going deeper and im worried hes gonna starve or pass out from not drinking water. What should i do?!
They're pretty hardy animals, so unless he was malnourished before you got him, he'll be fine for a few days without food (I assume water too, but I don't know for sure). Either way, one day isn't worrying. Especially since you said you just got him, and he's probably still stressed out from the move and the new environment. He'll probably hide a lot when there's light, until he feels safe enough to start exploring. I don't know what the log you have is like, but once he's feeling safer to get out of it (or a few days pass and it gets worrying, and you get him out), you should replace it with something you can open or lift to get him out of it, in case of emergencies. I don't think this case of yours is an emergency, though, unless he had problems before you got him.
I was terrified when my crested gecko came home with us and didn't seem to want food, it just took her a few days to get used to things. Each day was a little better and she eats so well now we call her Little Vicious at meal time. Best of luck with your new baby!!
You will most likely not to answer but I am a 14 year old girl with 3 Leo’s and one of them hasn’t ate anything for 3 weeks. I’ve been asking my parents to take me to the vet and I’ll pay but they rejected everytime(mind you I ask them every day 2 or more)
I work at a big chain pet store in the U.S. Recently a customer returned a baby crested gecko that she had for a month. This poor crestie is super stunted and has MBD. His tail is crinkled and super thin, his head is sunken in and his right shoulder is sticking out (from mbd). What happened was this women never watered him and only fed him WHEN THE DISH WAS EMPTY....I can't believe someone could be so heartless. I took the little guy in and Ive had him for 2 weeks now. I have been working with a vet through his recovery. He is filling out now and looks so much better then he did. ( Still needs work ) Some people should not have animals. Maybe they should make it that people need a permit or something to own animals to prove they are committed to its care and well being and not just impulsively buying an animal.
I really want to get a male leopard gecko, and have just started saving up. Your channel has been helping me so much with doing research, and I want to thank you a ton, you're a massive help!
aww thank you :) I'm glad I could help :D
Same thing happened to me! I eventually got one and he is the best!
Lisa Lore aw congrats!
Illyanna Turtle I have a albino fancy leopard gecko
Pink Twinkies aww cute! I’m jealous haha
I am studying to become a exotics vet. Birds and small mammals too. ❤
ah thats perfect! well done! :D

Honestly that video of Gizmo in her hand made my day
It's such a random clip I found in my files 😂 I don't even know what video it was originally from lol
Would there be a possibility you could do one of these for crested geckos :0?
maybe in the future :)
Perfect timing this has been happening to me this whole week😂 my crested gecko seems to be way better hasn’t pooped on me once yet.

Please can you do more crested gecko videos! And thanks for giving me advice on my BioActive Crestie enclosure on Twitter!
Yeah I want to do more, but sometimes the views are really bad and I get the impression people just don't want crestie videos :') lol
Leopard Gecko haha lol:) I mean you could try a title like this “OMG!!! CRESTED GECKO JUMPS ON BRANCH(Gone wrong) (in the hood)!!!!!!” Lol
I want to know if it's bad that my female crested Gecko always gets pregnant just right after laying eggs? I noticed that she ain't having time to rest
Leopard Gecko Just make a Crested Gecko channel
Thanks for all the help with our new leopard, my daughter and I love your channel.
aw thanks so much! :)
I experienced the opposite with the deep heat projector. He liked it so much that he wouldn't go in his humid hide.
I’ve had my gecko for a year and I’ve only ever had it poop out of its tank once. My bearded dragon is notorious for poopin everywhere though haha
I’m getting a leopard gecko next weekend! I can’t wait!! So I’m trying to watch as many as your videos and do as much research as possible. ❤️
Yeah I think cresties are a little more temperature sensitive, I always make sure I have tissue nearby, just in case! lol
I just switched to a deep heat projecter and I absolutely love it. I noticed that he is way more active and it works so much better than my heat mat
Anytime my geckos poop on me, I clean it up and make them sit with me for atleast 20minutes before really cleaning up and returning him or her to their cage.

aw awesome, thank you :)
Yay! i love it when you answer the questions can't wait to finish the video!
Thanks :D
I love you your animals and your videos! Today I removed stuck shed from my leopard gecko. What is the best way to handle him the first few times?
Thank you :) its good to use the 'scoop technique' like i show in a video, to pick him up, then let him walk hand to hand :)
Leopard Gecko, thank you sooooooo much for writing back! I will try this method! Thank you again!
Yay thank you for answering my question!! I never thought that it could be the darkness of the cold hide that would make them want to hang out in there more. I’m definitely going to add more plants to her tank.
Such cuteness
thanks :)
I’m pregnant and my gecko loves sitting on my tummy :)

Your videos are amazing and i just got myself a leopard gecko. He hasn’t been eating and is always trying to come out scratching on the tank . When I take him out he walks around on my hands.
His heat in the tank is 95F. Should I still keep mealworm in his tank?
Also my leopard gecko is growing very slowly. She’s around 40+ grams and she’s over a year old. She’s healthy and her tail is fat but she’s just been growing very slowly
Thx for doing a video where u answer our questions barely any UA-camrs do this
No problem :) I really like being about to sort of chat with my audience and help people out :)
If your gecko only goes to the cold side try swapping the cold hide and hot hide because it might just be that it doesn't like its hot hide but does like its cold side
Okay, she just poop on my hand... On daylight, lol. My hands are very warm btw😂
Great Review, Thanks Made My Day I Think Im Getting One

This question may get lost but, do I need to use a uvb when I have a heat mat? For my gecko, (leopard) I have a red and white uvb, and a heat mat (with a thermostat!) so will I need to use the red and white uvb?
Sorry for the late response, but from what ik if you dust its food with calcium with d3 and vitamins, the uvb isn't needed
Thanks for helping me on these questions it helped! :D
Ur videos are very helpful
Thank you :)
Could you do a crested gecko version
Also I am studying the be an exotic vet xx💖
aw that's awesome! i think the 3rd part will be a leo/crestie mix :)
What do you suggest is the best heat source for a Leo. I already have a heat mat. Anything else? Should I get a thermostat?
when ur leopard gecko keeps pooping on you i think they want to go back in their cages cuz my leopard gecko pooped on me twice. But any advice why my leopard gecko doesnt poop when he is in his cage? Last question, I just bought a hammock for him but he wont use it like i thought he was how do i get him to use it? If you reply to this comment tysm for answering my questions
Could I use grapewood vine for my Leopard gecko? She loves climbing
yeah I believe Minnie had one in her tank when I first set up it up more naturalistic--ly lol
I have too leopard geckos and love them so much
Are they housed together?
Oops I was 20 minutes late😭. Anyway keep up the amazing work and hope you have a good night. I may be getting a leopard gecko next year so I am trying to get as much information as possible and you have been a big help thanks allot 😃.
Ah no worries, thanks for watching :D Thank you!! :) Good luck :)
Any help?
Female or male? And what substrate?
My girst guesses would be ovulation for female geckos ... or in the worst case the wrong substrate
3:14 so adorable😍
your channel is so awesome love you.
what thermometer do you use? lol i love your videos they make so much sense and have helped me so so much and have also made me MUCH more confident!! :)
You couldn't have been more in sync with that video! I thought the random clip bit was a mistake until you noticed that it was synchronized as well! 😂
Could you link the deep heat projector you are using? Don't know if you have mentioned it in another video, I'm still working my way through all of your videos
Also I love that you also use silly decor at times (the christmas tree)...
The thumbnail is 100% my gecko
Everytime i take my leopard gecko out of the tank and put him on my bed he poops behind my pillow lol
Do leopard geckos get traumatized if you put them really close together for a while ?? My leopard geckos were very calm all the time and after I played with them they turned aggressive every time I handle them . Is this normal ?
I see your channel or name mentioned on FB often :)
My leopard gecko just shed and today had a soft poop, is that normal after eating shed?
He also hasn't eaten and I don't know if that's normal after recently shedding too.
❤️ these and you are awesome 👏
aw thank you! :D
So only thing that different from my leopard gecko is that she has round pupils I dont even know if that normal your videos are awesome I get most of my knowledge from your videos
"Pupas contain a magical substance that drives geckos crazy."
GECKO CRACK?
have you ever thought that if your leopard gecko keeps going to the cold side because its hungry? if the heat helps them digest their food and if they are hungry they have probably don't want to digest anymore food so they go to the cold side. idk just a thought :)
Do u know how to get your leopard geckos off ur back? Lol mine decided to crawl on to my back, btw ty for all these tips it’s helped me sm
I've foumd my leopard gecko generally doesn't like crickets no matter what we feed them :)
#Q&A
Do you use a deep heat projector and heat mat?
-Avery
just a deep heat projector :)
Please more videos on the ants!
I think she's managed a good balance between updates :)
Also, expect a lot less updates during winter, as ants will just hibernate for a few months, and will be even less eventful.
I also have a red light.
Bless him 😂
Hi,
Please could I have some advice.
Thanks
Lisa x
I got my leopard gecko a week ago, she started shedding today
do you put the humid hide on the cold or warm side?
Love your videos! Quick question: would you recommend eco earth as a substrate? I want to switch to something more natural (I have reptile carpet), but i'm in the US and can't get Arcadia products
Frizzy Mary eco earth is fine for them, however I tried it for a couple months and it is AWFUL when trying to clean their tanks. I switched back to reptile carpet on the cold side because it’s much easier to maintain. I have moss on the warm side
I live in a tropical country with pretty high humidity all year round, do I still need a humid hide?
yes, as too high of humidity in the whole tank for too long will cause them to probably develop respiratory issues. humidity for the whole tank is perfect 30%-40%, which is normally a house's humidity.
You might have the opposite problem, and might have to make sure their tank is not too moist, with some sort of dehydration. Their natural habitat is desert-like, so they might get breathing issues if there's too much moisture in the air. Basically what zoeee marieee said.
Ah, yeah like Phelanpt said, you may have the opposite problem. Leos can't be in high humidity for a long time, ideally 40% of less.
XD
What you’re doing is fine.
I was wondering why don't you offer hornworms on your leopard geckos? Is it a not easily accessible food source for them or some other reason?
I think it's because they are a very invasive species and not native to where she lives so they are illegal.
Yeah they're illegal here :/ :(
Oh I wasn't aware of that!! Oh that is unfortunate 😢
Hi :)
Can you use a deep heat projector with kitchen roll? Do you turn it off at night?
Thanks x
Possibly, but it must be above slate, as that's what will absorb the heat :) It'll also double up as a platform/hide for your gecko :)
I have a question also. Is there a scientific way to tell/estimate how old they are? I did have the papers but lost them. Thanks
It's easier to tell in the first year as their pattern develops a lot in the first year, and their weight changes. However past the year mark, its a little more difficult.
@@leopardgeckotalk thank you so much I just have wondered for a long time and I got him abou 3 months or so ago
Do you have a video as to how to convince your parents to get a leopard gecko? My mom doesn’t understand how easy and good of a pet leopard geckos are, she thinks they’re going to be really annoying
Ah i think I have one but it's pretty old.
I’m just wondering where did you get your cricket container 👍🏻
I honestly can't remember, I believe i got it when I first got Gizmo, so was about 13 years ago 🙈
Leopard Gecko thanks for the reply it looks like a good one do you have any idea if a exo terra faunarium would work because the one I have they keep escaping
Your channel helped me alot and I recently got a leapord gecko. I've researched alot and I think its a raptor. It has snake eyes with red pupils and I've seen pics of baby raptors and it looks similar
aww sweet, Ziggy is a raptor too but with one partial eclipse eye and one full eclipse eye :D
I actually named mine Ziggs after ziggy
Is the only deep heat projector the 80 dollar one
I just want to have more naturalistic environment for him
It could be, just sterilize it first by baking it. Make sure it isn’t pine or cedar.
Thank you
What are some good things to feed meal worms?
@@phelan_pt Okay. I was just overreacting a bit... But thanks for the info. It makes me feel a bit more relieved
I was terrified when my crested gecko came home with us and didn't seem to want food, it just took her a few days to get used to things. Each day was a little better and she eats so well now we call her Little Vicious at meal time. Best of luck with your new baby!!
whats that green stuff u give meal worms
You will most likely not to answer but I am a 14 year old girl with 3 Leo’s and one of them hasn’t ate anything for 3 weeks. I’ve been asking my parents to take me to the vet and I’ll pay but they rejected everytime(mind you I ask them every day 2 or more)
hi i bought a male leopard gecko last week well we think its male anyways hes a baby
im scared of the crickets and they're escaping
any tips?
-iris
make sure you have a big enough tank to put them in. If you're taking them out of the tub they came in they'll most likely escape :)
What is a DP projector?
Can you make more hide diys please lol
What is the best substrate for a bearded dragon
tiles or reptile mats
Where does she get her crickets from?
Please tell me what are you feeding the meal worms in this video. Please give me an answer
Can you start getting questions from here cuz I dont have social media
Maybe they should make it that people need a permit or something to own animals to prove they are committed to its care and well being and not just impulsively buying an animal.
omg how horrible :'( I'm glad he's in better hands now, poor baby.
