    Great video. Short and informative. Could I use any oil to re-oil?

      I would very much like to know this aswell, mine is ridiculously dirty and i need to see if this is what is causing my 350z to feel a bit sluggish sadly the only thing i have readily available is the K&N recharge kit from my old drop in K&N filter from before i upgraded to mishimoto

      Yes, any re-oil kit should do the job so if all you can get ahold of is the K&N kit you should not have any issues

    Will the oil contaminate the mass air flow sensor and cause a check engine light?

    • @mishimoto

      As long as the filter isn't dripping with oil when it is re-installed, you shouldn't have any isues.

    I have a MMAI-CIV-16RD. I looked at the product page on the mishimoto website but can't find the amount of oil needed. Where can I find this information?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  6 місяців тому +1

      There isn't a pre-defined amount. Make sure there is an even coating and it's not dripping off the filter element and you shouldn't have any issues.

    It says 43g for my air filter. How do I know how much to fill the applicator with? Which notch on the bottle is the right one?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 роки тому +1

      The applicator bottle should have values on the side, however you will simply want to make sure that the filter is evenly coated.

    My filter for my 2018 accord requires 38 grams.. seems like my filter is well oiled with about 2 passes on the filter. It is not drenched but doesn't have any light spots. Is using the whole 38 grams necessary?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 роки тому

      It is not. As long as all of the filtering material is covered with oil and the filter is not dripping, you should have no issues.

    What is the part number of the two funny shaped filters at the back?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 роки тому

      The part number for these filters will be MMAF-38672, the site will show two of these, one is an oiled filter ending in S while the other one is dry ending is SDW.

    hi not sure if you guys will see this comment but i have your CAI for my brz and ive been running a p0171 code for a while. my filter is quite dirty so could that be confusing the ecu and throwing the code? thanks in advance!

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  Рік тому +2

      It's possible. We suggest cleaning the intake every 10-15k miles depending on how you drive and where you are located.

    I bought a WRX with a mishi intake on it airway how would i know if it's an oil'd filter or more

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 роки тому

      All our intakes for the WRX will use a oiled filter. If our M logo is on the end and it is red it is the original oiled filter.

    How often do I need to clean up my filter ?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 роки тому +2

      It is recommended that the filter be cleaned every 10,000 miles. However depending on your environment and conditions this might be needed sooner.
