I got a ruko f11, on my maiden flight drone went out of control and crashed into an oak tree and was extensively damaged. Not being able to find anyone to repair drone I contacted ruko to see if they had repair suggestions. They sent me a brand new drone with batteries and controller, at no cost. Now that’s customer service
Wow @Hawkfan12121! That's awesome! Well...not awesome that it crashed but awesome that Ruko hooked you up with a replacement. All of my experiences with them have been awesome so far. This is great info so thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I'm going to pin this one to the top so other customers know how helpful their customer service is. Thanks for the comment!
@The Musser's how did you go about that? i have just had the same issue and the drone just went out of control and crashed. Just wanted to know how easy the process was.
DJI definitely makes some good drones. I love mine. Some people are looking for alternatives to DJI so it's good to see other manufacturers stepping up.
I was gonna purchase a DJI drone but unfortunately after reading all the bad reviews for Android phone users on the drones I just changed my mind and was looking at the ruko and one of your videos I noticed that you have a android phone and it went well
Care to share where you bought yours @Mike Morris? I'm sure other users would love to know where they can get a deal like that. I generally prefer the trustworthiness and quick shipping of being an Amazon Prime Member but there are definitely some good deals out there if you shop around. Let us know where you found yours for $260! Thanks for sharing.
I had the same problem with the wind and weather here in Florida @Jonathan Andrews. It seemed like every free day I had to go out to the flying field it was windy and stormy. Let us know how the flight goes!
awesome man, ordering the F11 GIM, i have f11 and ya big difference, those are not antenna's tho which sucks but you can make them antenna's i did on mine so i get better video and range
Thanks for the feedback @Jim's Innovations! I had no idea those weren't antenna's but now that you mentioned it I looked and didn't see any wires inside. Well I'll be! What did you do to make them antenna's?
@@ARFTT , took out one of the fake ones, to make the whole, then i just bought a wifi antenna and soldered it on then connected the antenna , works great it's not that hard, just a simple solder connection to replace the old one, i get quite a bit better range now and less video lag and stutter
💥💥 Great review thank you. I just watched an “f11 4K Pro review” that clearly showed it with a 2 axis gimbal which is $359 vs this for $399. Do you know what’s different.?? They seem the same. 🤟🏼
Hey @James Mason! Thanks so much for the awesome comment! I'm assuming the video you're referring to is by SJRC? If so, I believe they are the same. I haven't personally verified this, but a lot of people have commented that their SJRC F11 Pro is identical to my video (just cheaper). I've also heard you can find them considerably cheaper on sites like Banggood.com.
Great question @Josh Young. I was actually thinking of doing a future video on that very subject, but in the meantime, I would say "yes" but it might take some creativity. The drone is certainly capable of carrying the weight of the lure/bait/line and more than capable of flying out beyond sight, sighting for fish, and returning home after the drop. The tricky part would be how to actually trigger the bait drop. I was going to try coming up with a system that would use the movement of the gimbal to release the bait. Do you already have something in mind for that?
@@ARFTT yes a 6 foot long rope with a clip on the end you tug the line loose from the clip at your desired bait drop I’m going to get this drone and use it for dropping 1-2lb Stingray chunks for hammerheads
on auto-return with GPS, does the drone return to it's launch site, or to your phone ? On a trail hike going back to retrieve the drone will take too much time. Or just remember to return manually.
Good question @norman ziegelmeyer. Yes it can. If you're manually controlling it, you can simply fly it "sideways" using your pilot controls. Another option that I demonstrate in the flight review video (Part 2) is setting the drone to fly a path using waypoints. As it flies the waypoints, you can yaw the drone to point the camera. Only downside to that method is it seems to re-orient itself every time it reaches a new waypoint. Hope that helps!
Great video! I am a new user. I'm curious about the controller battery. I have charged it through the night, but when I go through the motions of calibrating, etc... the battery on the control went red, despite being charged. Any ideas? I have yet to see it all green?
I can't say for sure, but I believe they are the exact same product. If I had to guess, both companies may be getting the drone from the same original manufacturing facility and then adding their own labels/branding/accessories/software tweaks to make them their own. That's only a guess, but I know there are a lot of manufacturers that do that sort of thing, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was also the case here. Or perhaps Ruko and SJRC are somehow related and are selling the same drone in 2 different markets. I'm not sure. Great question @capricornz abill. I'm curious about that one myself.
Sorry for the delayed reply on this @jeff gardner. As you pointed out, I wasn't able to find a serial number on mine either. I believe you can put "n/a" in that field as you said, or just type in the model of the drone in that field on the registration. I believe the FAA is just interested in making sure your drone has that registration number on it.
In my opinion it is. The video is 4K and looks pretty good to me. I feel like the quality on my DJI drones is still a little better but those have bigger/newer/more expensive sensors on them so that makes sense. I sent some sample footage from the GIM to my friend that does wedding videos and she said the quality was perfectly sufficient. It just depends on what you want to use it for.
I have the ruko f11 gim2 I just got it 3 days ago and I'm new to drone flying my question is do I have to get my drone registered with the FAA and get a pilot license
Nope, no clock on the controller itself @Donald Fogah. However, your phone links with the controller when you're flying with the app so you can still see your phone's clock.
Yes it does @James Manning. It'll record at a lower resolution so the quality won't be quite as good as video recorded on the drone itself, but it does still record a decent preview video to your phone.
If you're referring to the SJRC F11 4K Pro, I don't believe there's any difference at all other than the price. I only have the Ruko so I can't do a side-by-side comparison but everything I've seen (and heard from other customers) seems to indicate they're identical. It's confusing but Ruko does also offer an F11 Pro with a 4K camera. If that's the one you're referring to then there actually is a difference. The Pro doesn't have the same gimbal that the F11 Gim does, so the camera only moves up and down and doesn't cancel out the drones movement the same way the F11 Gim does. Hope that helps.
I can't say for sure since I don't have any older Ruko drones, but from what I can gather, it will work with the F11 4K Pro. In searching for spare battery packs, I found this Amazon listing that lists multiple different compatible drones for the same battery pack. Hey @Artie Scott. The DJI Mavic Air controller holds the phone inside the handles so at first glance it looked like the same could be true for the F11 Gim.
