of course you did
@@FpvBerget 🤣
You asked the wrong people then !
Did you use the flight radar app or pc version to ensure no planes were in the area ? That would help keep the flights safe and uneventful.
Wow amazing
Flying so high and diving from that altitude is the secret dream of every drone pilot
@@Slowico study terrain more and practice sentence formation.
Just start skydiving. Thats little above usual exit altitude on a turboprop plane even though they can go higher. Over 5K oxygen comes handy if you have to stay there longer than few minutes.
@@Tavarahissi I love skydiving but it is quite a bit more expensive while being a lot less enironmentally friendly, not to mention way more dangerous of course. And in the end you only go down.
The amazing part about fpv flying is that you have the feeling that you can go anywhere! It's absolutely sensational!
Drone "pilot". ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
@@ESB234 I don't understand what you're getting at here. When controlling a drone you are piloting it, no?
I know that DJI's stuff isn't cheap but their radio tech is excellent.
Cheap really bro
@@jacobbalboa8895 he said that he know the DJI product is expensive but the radio tech is excellent, you dinn't read carefully bruhhh

@@rizen3467 hmmm i thinks the radio tech just bad on the DJI mini 1 and mini SE but DJI has add the ocusyn 2.0 on mini 2 so the radio tech is more better
@@darkmaterial3518 yes maybe better than before, but for the price youre paying the performance is far from being outstanding
being an airline pilot myself, this kind of stuff gives me chills. That drone would be a cannonball shot to my cockpit.
It's still smaller than a goose and doesn't fly in flocks.
@@davidscott430spoting a drone is harder and that's a bad thing
I feel like the chances of a square foot drone hitting a plane in the sky which is square miles is pretty low?
@@vertx706but still there is a chance. Right
😂😂😂😂
Didn't expected that the DJI FPV would be that stable with turned off motors ! Although not intended this seems to be the result of its special aerodynamic design together with its low center of gravity. So basically the altitude you can reach with given battery capacity plus a small reserve for landing defines the maximum altitude you can fly. Awesome !
I want to try this but I have seen a couple accidently turn off motors and it didn't fall this nicely I don't get it haha.
My concern would if it accidentally went outside of the signal range while motors are off. It would continue to fall and smash into the ground.
@@MrPumpfast Absolutely agree ! But maybe it detects that it's falling and FS kicks in and restarts the motors. But I would not try it.
@@utahflying2478 I believe DJI uses their own version of "air mode," where when you cut the throttle to zero, the motors are still spinning at idle, and the flight controller is working with the gyro to keep it stable. If you actually disarm the motors, it should tumble and fall out of the sky like you've seen.
Its not turned off but on landing mode and drone is shaking as hell. If you look to regular fps drones for a fraction of price, they are way more stable when you landing like this ..
Really cool the free spinning of the rotors on the descent helped keep it very stable! 👏
Dizzy Maneuver 🤮
Wondering what kind of back current that was doing on your electronics. Couldnt have been good.
@@TheFluffyDuck Charging the battery maybe
@@jedithusnbixby2108 hahaha no, dji products have a protection against such things happening but it only goes so far, I don't think the ESC's were very happy with the motors spinning like that

Dammnnn that was awesome ! I would be too scared to turn off the motors and try this..it look like slow mo skydiving...great video.
What surprises me is that something that light could free fall 14,000 ft and come back almost to the takeoff point. Must not have been any wind at all that day! Good job.
also hes flying from a spot that isnt easy to locate from above
DJI FPV have a home point mark that you can see in the goggles so it’s easy to find where you’ve launched from
@@coryteerlink1386
Yes, but the props are what keeps it on its GPS location. Without the props turning by the motors, there is nothing to keep it on position.
Decently heavy with low surface area I guess

This is absolutely incredible. 🔥🔥🔥
very good flying, my compliments. I especially was impressed by your idea to cut the throttle as you were descending, to save power. I'll have to experiment with "prop feathering" myself, but from a much lower altitude. Other people who make flight test limits videos, never have a plan for the low battery situation but you did! I would also point out to people wanting to test horizontal range limits to always egress against the wind and ingress (returning) with the wind. Also remember that wind speed decreases with altitude. Use that to your advantage. If you MUST ingress against the wind, stay LOW! Happy and safe flying to all!
@ironman FPV what software was used to lift the altitude restrictions??
That blue sky above the clouds was mesmerizing
Well that is just AMAZING!! Thanks for sharing!
Just a thought but how cool would regenerative charging be for when you turned off the motors. How much can you generate on a 3 minute charge
it will spiral out control
@@mfrfpv9079 I was wondering as I watched the video: How was he able to keep the drone level and keep it's orientation with the props powered down?
@@theadventurebiker I think the integrated cam is doing its job (horizontal level + stabilization like stuff ), so the recording is stable and linear
@@theadventurebiker With enough speed the props create a cyclic windmill/pinwheel effect that keeps the quad level but rotates it. When your motors power down it will tumble at first and then usually flip upside down at a certain speed (with high CG) or right itself and fall roughly level (low CG).
@@_winter7745 thanks for the explanation!
Sorprendente la performance de este pequeño drone! 👍🏻
This is insane!!!!!! Drone tech is getting crazier and more advanced LITERALLY by the day!!!!
There's nothing better than flying a drone up high and taking wonderful videos such as this. Nice work 👏
I love the free fall disabling the motors. But if the batery gets too cold, you maybe will have a problem turning the quad on.
Actually he did not disabled the motors, he just pulled the throttle stick down so that no power is used on free-fall, and to preserve battery energy.
The battery was still on, just being saved up.
@@ETHCHASER are you sure? cus i wonder if the same scenario would work by double tapping start/stop button ... and if the drone will then stumble more. Also What @joka says is quite legit
No...You won't it does not have cold start function ..no transmission fluids or gas.
That is a good point. Especially since at higher altitudes like that, it gets very cold. Depending on the time of day, location, starting altitude relative to sea level, and weather, small amounts of icing forming on the motors and electronics could be possible. Especially with flying directly through the very moist clouds.
They don't turn off, just spinning very slow to maintain control over the quad.
Muy buen vídeo, gracias por compartirlo.
Me puede decir a que altura sobre el nivel del mar está el sitio de despegue del dron?

Amazing flight!!! EPIC
Yesterday I finally ordered one, 5 years ago I discovered the fvp drones, they fascinated me, but shortly after I discovered the long range, it was then when I really fell in love, it's like a dream come true, fly freely through the skies or wherever you want and forget about everything, I have had dreams in which I fly, for me it's like daydreaming.
Mr Wick, hope you are not in Europe, because in EU the radio power is cut in 4-5 times (?) because of local laws...
@@IronManFPV That's too bad, fortunately I'm not there, thanks for letting me know anyway.
hey, I am a beginner here...what is the maximum range of battery in these fpv?...my air2s is hardly giving 25mins
Not everywhere you can fly freely most parks you can't and like I soon discovered I live within 5 miles of JFK airport, my DJI won't let me take of anymore, it restrict my flying due to been so close to the airport. It also restrict my flying by police or fire departments that have heli pads, I'm dinding it hard to fly my drone in NYC haven't flown it in one & a half years to much BS regulations, I love the scenery plus used mine after winter or wind syores to check out damage on my houses.
@@partytoy1 I faced an issue with my air2s, it took off..and flew a little far..and when I tried RTH, It started going away from me, and so I had to manually return, even then, it was refusing to move near to me after a certain distance..keep floating on air but not coming near to me...we couldnt land because it was on edge of a mountain tip... and then we connected to my friend's iphone, it suddenly started working and we landed it...ever since that incident..Am bit scared flying it away 😥

Thank you for your input! Is the FPV really able to keep itself stable via autorotation?
That's what I was thinking. Amazing.
@@shields-upfpv4873 Thank you. I've seen an FPV fall off and didn't get the impression that the center of gravity alone was enough to keep it stable in atmospheric conditions, that's why.

Quadcopters cannot autorotate as they don't have variable pitch blades.
@@RmacNet Well, it at least stays stable due to the drag the props generate even if it's not real auto-rotation.

Valio ver cada maldito segundo del video, felicidades!!
But how were you able to circumvent the height limitations? I want to fly up mountains but they are higher than 500m. Is there some kind of hack or alternative firmware you were using?
You Fan Turn ist off
You’re able to go up to X, height depending on your local laws. For example you’re able to go up X altitude from ground level. If you’re using a mountain as an example that is 400m and local law states 500m is the maximum for flying a done, and if you place your drone directly upon it’s peak and wanted to go higher you would legally be able to be flying 900m. Drop the slope and your altitude must drop to meet regulations. Everything is situational.
@@stantonsellers2137 I thing you are wrong, the 500meter altitude is not based on local laws, but a limit coded in firmware (you can configure less max altitude, but not altitude abobe 500m). It's truth that altitude is fixed based in home point, not distance to ground.
I have the same question as @MBUG, how they get to go so high?
That's pretty cool and I'm glad you got approval by the authorities and checked the airspace first. But I'm also really concerned because other people could do this as well without taking the necessary precautions first...

Yeah no this absolutely wasn't kosher. Cool video, but they don't even have a second operator which is a requirement for basic FPV flight at any altitude. Also, the drone could have hit icing conditions going through the cloud layer and been impossible to recover.
Edit: this wasn't flown in the US so the requirements I'm familiar with don't apply. Still, the risk of icing should be kept in mind
Chill dude! Awesome footage 👏

Just curious I have one and the 500m kicks in , does it let you acknowledge and bypass? Plus for those that don’t know the drone notifies you when a plan is nearby I think it pings their transponders, I’ve seen this when flying below 400’ but when planes come by general vicinity.
The drone receives ADSB data from aircraft but it doesn't "ping" them. It's a passive system.
