I still have my Zoomfly Flyknit 2, which I used for racing when I was a novice runner and nowadays use for speed workouts. Absolutely love the shoe, but haven’t bought any new versions as they seem to be declining in quality. Glad to hear V6 is back to form.
Superb video! How do you think this one compares to Nike's Tempo shoe? I switched to the Tempo when I felt the Zoom Fly lost something after the third version. Thanks, and great content as always :)
As you know Ben I got this shoe the same time as you and I have to say I totally agree with your review. I did notice the noise and the slight rear in-balance but like you these really don’t bother me plus the there are so many positives to this shoe. I also think that the dual layer, grip and colour way make this the perfect winter running shoe 😊.
Very interested in hearing your thoughts on the Asics Novablast 5 thats coming out next week i think. Love these videos, they helped me a ton when deciding what shoes to buy, keep up the great work!! 💪🏻🔥
@ i have the novablast 4 you didn’t make a mistake its still an amazing shoe. I did 4 months of prep and my first marathon with them and i still use them after. I think they have 500-600 miles in them, we shall see haahah
I’m on the superblast 2 train now so probably won’t try but appreciate the review . Can find Nikes for cheaper always they always seem to have discount colors at some point soon after release . Where superblast stays harder to find and almost never discounted.
Great video as always! I'd love to see a ranking system for the shoes you review. Maybe even split into categories like race day, recovery, tempo, etc. It would be super helpful if each new shoe model could be added to an existing ranking of those you've already tested. This way, we could see how each new release stacks up against the others. Thanks for the awesome content!
Thanks for a great honest review 🙏🏾. Would you recommend this over the Superblast 2 ? My go to marathon shoes are the AF3. 🙌🏽. Also ordered 2 of your long sleeve tops, so really looking forward to running with them soon 🥳
Great video Ben! I was eying the 5 until I saw your review but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna grab the 6. One question though - what are your thoughts on regularly using a carbon plated shoe like this on everyday easy runs?
I really enjoyed the 5. It wasn’t as sleek but it did both long, tempo runs well with the plate inside and the zoom x bits. Put about 500 miles on them and move onto the Boston 12s
Great video as always! I got these shoes today, bought them with my own money😊 Just done a 12 km nice run, with some fartlek tempo. And I must say that this is a fantastic shoe for me😊 Fun, fast and feels reliable👌 My new favourite😀
I have it & I love it. I’ve been looking forward to running in it. I was having insertional achilles issues & this has made it feel a bit better. Curious if you prefer this to the Superblast? I know the Superblast doesn’t have a plate, but outside of that, how do they compare?
Been running in these for over a week now. Fantastic shoe. Just hope Nike don’t do an ASICS and mess up the production volume. I weigh 92kg and usually very comfortable in a 2E width, these fit really well. They look like a bin liner but up the cadence so nobody sees. Shoe rotation has been ASICS NB4s and SB1s with the Metaspeed Sky Paris for Race day, couldn’t get the SB2s but won’t even bother now. These paired with the Endorphin Speed 4s will be an awesome rotation for me this marathon cycle. Thanks for the review Ben. Going to order that black long sleeve too!! ATB Sean.
Just ordered this shoe. Last year started running and bought the Pegasus 40 done about 500k in them and signed up for Manchester marathon next year found the Pegasus wasn’t the best after 15k so hope this shoe helps on the longer runs. Thanks for the video
Do you think this shoe would work for someone running their first marathon, aiming to run sub 4? I’ve been looking at Nike because I am able to get a discount but I’m not sure I really need a full on super shoe like the vaporfly or alphafly. I train in the vomero 17.
Thank you for this review Ben! I been half marathon Training in Brooks Glycerin 21 or Nike RN Infinity 4 which are heavy. I was about to order the Vapor Fly but I will give these a try for remaining of my training on speed workouts & half matathon. I probably would make this my race day shoe for 2025.
Appreciate the reviews as always sir! How would you compare the Z6 to the old tempos? I appreciate there are no air pods in the Z6 and it’s a carbon vs nylon plate, but are you feeling some similarities? The tempo next% was my all time fav do it all shoe and I’ve been willing Nike to come out with some sort of update!
They have a very similar use case.. but the tempo next% was more of a training partner to alphafly, this is similar to varporlfy. With no AirPods the ride and feel is very different to tempo next%
@ appreciate the response sir! I’ll definitely pick up a pair of the Z6s when they restock in my size but would love to see a v2 of the tempo, ideally one that is pretty similar to the v1!
I realy miss ZF3, seems to me that Nike lost its way with ZF after that. 4 and 5 were so heavy and weird on foot. Let's hope they make better on this new version.
How is the plate? I have heard its much more flexible than the zoom fly 5 which caused some plantar issues. Looking for something fast for my next 1/2 marathon, would prefer plateless, but heard this is a good option. Thanks in advance.

That layer of zoomx looks so thin compared to the EVA layer. I'm afraid it'll bottom out within 200 miles then feel uncomfortable and harsh, that's exactly what happened with my pair of OG Peg Turbos
I don’t really care about the weight in my mind . More weight is more better ! And then when u throw on some light shit when u wanna perform… you fly !

Really glad you provided your opinion of the longitudinal rigidity of the Flyplate, based on how you bent it, it definitely seems less rigid than the Flyplate in the VF/AF. I do not like running in stiff plates in training (except key runs near the end of a block). Just not worth the calf stress. But if the flex is more akin to the Tempo Next% style flex....it becomes an interesting option...I'd prefer to see a new version of the Tempo Next% (with air pods), but maybe this can serve as a VF/AF trainer? VF 100%....AF....not convinced.
The noise from that outsole is like other Nike shoes which seem to get better with use. What i don’t like is the grip pattern. For some reason my Vomero’s seem to catch the pavement/road and send me flying. My Vomero’s, with the same grip pattern have hurt me 3 times….and i do not have that problem with the peg plus.
Been looking forward to this review Ben. Great video as always. If price wasn't an option, would you recommend the New Balance SuperComp Trainer v3 over this one? Thanks
It has really nice color which is lowkey compared to the eye catching colors of the alphafly. I love it. However this will get really ugly once the coloring on the foam gets worn out and I think it doesn’t take much for the color to fade.
Not really anything to do with the shoes but I have a question. Who do you think it is harder for to complete a marathon, Ben or someone who does their best and takes 4hrs? Yes the4 hrs is slower paced but Ben runs over 1hr less time. So who has the harder time?
I'm kind of a beginner to running and I'm looking into getting new shoes, for daily training and getting a faster pace. Currently eyeing on these and the adidas SL2, idk much about other brands. In terms of the relative price of each shoe what do y'all think is a better value?
