This sort of work brings back so many memories of my busiest garage days, it always ends up being much worse than expected.

the inner inner sill is made from some seriosuly thick steel its the outer sill and jacking point reinforcements that are a bit....thin

Looks familiar 😄 I did one rallycross mr2 shell, and it was imported from germany to Finland, so it had never had any protective wax inside sills/chassis legs. It took almost year to "restrore" it, before actual modification was possible 😄

Just been researching rust repair, found your chanel! I'm going to invest in a mig welder and gas, looks like it is well worth it, instead of a bodyshop throwing a load of filler on it and sending it back out

Take your time and cut off small bits at a time. practice your welding off the job and get comfortable with it before you weld the car.

Thanks for sharing your videos. I found them very useful and informative to watch. I am currently working on my project mk1 MR2. Looking to repair rusty sills (so much fun).
Could you please advise what thickness sheet metal you have used? Do you know what the thickness of the cars original sills?
    Thanks

Ayman Elkady thanks mate. Glad they were helpful. Haha so much fun indeed 😂. Umm from memory I would say 1.2mm? I would cut away until you get to solid metal and then use that to measure from to make sure it’s right. Good luck, any questions along the way just fire a comment over 👍🏻
