    Superb information! 👍👍To check for vacuum leaks I use brake cleaner at critical points, the engine rpm will go up indicating a leak

    Great video, thanks. I have had the same issue that I can not seem to fix.
    Maybe you can lead me into the right direction here. Car, 1985 MB 500sel (w126/cal. car), I have replaced most every piece of engine rubber and tubing, idle control unit, Overload Relay, plugs, distributor cap, coil, fuel pump filter, injectors,idle speed control unit, etc.
    The car starts hard, then idles rough at around 600+rpms, after warm up it will climb to about 1100+ rpms. BUT, when I hit the gas it runs smooth as silk. Take it out on the road and it runs perfectly until I come to a stop and it idles rough again. I know it is running a little rich, but not enough to cause the problem. The idle is rough on cold engine and warm engine.
    I watched a video from a MB mechanic and he said to push down on the large round plate, after turning off the engine and it should not be easy to push in. But after a couple minutes push on it again and if it goes in easily then there is fuel leaking back, and it usually is caused by a bad o-ring on the piece at the back of the distributor (16mm fiting, you referenced). He said not to buy repair parts but to get a complete new piece.
    This has been going on for some time now, love the car, but this issue is very puzzling to say the least. What do you think.

    i have a 1983 sec 380 and my car starts but when pressing on the gas pedal it dies. any advice anyone?

    I just saved a 1985 380se and it does have quite a sluggish pick up, in between all the mentioned trouble shooting, does the system needs any high elevation adjustment, considering the fact that I live in the mountains, 8500 elevation ?

    I have a starting problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I dont have a pressure gauge but do seem to get pressured fuel at the metering unit and after running the pump and manually operating the metering flap I have no fuel from the injectors and even after removing one of the injectors only seem to have a trickle of fuel from the injector pipe.
