    Thank you for all your effort. I have 1986 190e 2.3 8valves, gas, and please correct me on the following steps on calibrating the EHA valve: 1- Engine at normal temperature 80 degree, 2- install pressure tester lines, tester valve closed, unplug EHA, 3- start the engine 4- take the reading 5- open the tester's valve, 6- taking the reading, 7- after I reach 0.4 bar difference, turn engine off, 8- discounted the tester lines, 9- plug in the EHA valve's electrical. Thank you

    Use MARINE two stroke oil in a fuel injected car. The conventional two stroke oil contains metallic additives that can deposit in the injector pintles. The marine two stroke oils are not allowed to use the metallic additives.

    These cars are great but they are extremely expensive to maintain and the repairs are beyond difficult and time consuming. No modern car faces these problems today. Plus R107’s don’t sell for that little. Parts are getting literally impossible to find including from Mercedes Benz. I know because I have been looking and am experiencing all of this first hand as I repair mine and have been for the past 25 years.

    This was super ! I’ve zenith’s. When I iddle it throws explosions through the air jets. This could be an engine vacuum issue? What are your thoughts on this? 2:12

    My 500ge misfire's when its hot, what could cause this problem? I replaced the spark plugs and wire's Ignition coil Rotor and cap When i replaced the rotor cap and coil it was running perfect. A week later it was misfiring again and the engine shakes.

    I have a garaged 280ce which I inherited from my dad. It’s not diesel and I may be interested in selling but I can’t find the Blue Book value. I believe it’s an 86 model but I’m also having trouble finding that out as well. It’s been in my garage since 2009 with 13000 miles and hasn’t been cranked up sense then. Where can I find more information on possible selling it and how much it’s worth?

      By the way it’s never been in snow. It’s all original including paint never been in an accident. Needs tires because they’ve been setting in garage sense 2009. Please give me some advice as to what I should do.

    what would cause fuel coming out from all top port with plunger all the way down (idle condition) after fd rebuild? haven't troubleshot much but as soon as pump is shorted to run manually, fuel comes out n loud buzzing/whine happening, like fuel pressure oscillating... i'm thinking either EHA adjustment is wrong or fuel pressures are wrong...

    Good material for a seminar on this engine. I’ve got a 74 450SL with a misfire at idle. Everything you’re talking about is related to my car. Haha. I need help with it. Pay ya to come out here.

      I also have a 74 405SL , Mine has run good at all speeds except for idle which is a shame for such a great running car.

    This was a good effort but I believe this needs to be a shot and edited and posted video on MBCA. If Pierre’s videographer Thomas Can shoot it with the camera shots he knows this needs I believe it would be the best video series on the internet for Bosh fuel injection.

    Hi, I have a W126. 1990 560 SEL. All of a sudden, I have a rough idle and lack of power. The low rpm idle stalls the car if I don't depress the accelerator. I replaced the fuel system, new ignition distributor, rotor, spark plugs. I am trying to troubleshoot the Idle Control Valve. At this point, I am seeing continuous fluctuating voltage (0 - 2.1V) at the terminals of the ICV when the car is cold. Could this sysmptom be a faulty Idle Speed Control Module? Or something else?

    Superb information! 👍👍To check for vacuum leaks I use brake cleaner at critical points, the engine rpm will go up indicating a leak

    Excellent presentation Pierre! I have an '86 560SL to diagnose and the info in the video was helpful. The engine starts immediately and then shuts down within 3-5 seconds. Starts right back up and then dies again, over and over.

    Loving this channel. Wish I knew about it with my old 114 D-Jet Does anyone here know what the issue is with a 124 300CE which won’t creep forward by just releasing the brake? In other words I need the throttle for car park or parking manoeuvring. Any help would be much appreciated

    Great video, thanks. I have had the same issue that I can not seem to fix. Maybe you can lead me into the right direction here. Car, 1985 MB 500sel (w126/cal. car), I have replaced most every piece of engine rubber and tubing, idle control unit, Overload Relay, plugs, distributor cap, coil, fuel pump filter, injectors,idle speed control unit, etc. The car starts hard, then idles rough at around 600+rpms, after warm up it will climb to about 1100+ rpms. BUT, when I hit the gas it runs smooth as silk. Take it out on the road and it runs perfectly until I come to a stop and it idles rough again. I know it is running a little rich, but not enough to cause the problem. The idle is rough on cold engine and warm engine. I watched a video from a MB mechanic and he said to push down on the large round plate, after turning off the engine and it should not be easy to push in. But after a couple minutes push on it again and if it goes in easily then there is fuel leaking back, and it usually is caused by a bad o-ring on the piece at the back of the distributor (16mm fiting, you referenced). He said not to buy repair parts but to get a complete new piece. This has been going on for some time now, love the car, but this issue is very puzzling to say the least. What do you think.

    I just saved a 1985 380se and it does have quite a sluggish pick up, in between all the mentioned trouble shooting, does the system needs any high elevation adjustment, considering the fact that I live in the mountains, 8500 elevation ?

    I have a question for whoever can answer I'm thinking about buying a 1972 from a guy who has it only a couple of years he says it's a 450 SL it's tagged as a 450 SL it does have the 4.5 V8 in it $78,000 original miles it runs and drives great but I'm concerned now cuz the video says in 72 they were 350s ?..... Can someone help and explain is this car that I am looking at a 450 or 350 with a badges changed and is 1972 a good year for the r107 is this a good car to buy ??? The paint is nice the dash and interior is all nice may have been replaced before because it looks too nice LOL $ 8K buys the car

    Well... you should NOT adjust the mixture screw, to get a better idle.. you should NEVER adjust it, period. Just leave it alone. And it's not for idle adjustment, what the hell? BTW, we do not want 1-3 mm's of free play in the plate - we wan't 1,9 mm.

    Hi Pierre. Just found this video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. Going through the front subframe and rear axle right now. Doing all of what you suggested. Just got the air valves back from rebuild. Moving along slowly but surely. Still welding to do. But enjoying the experience. Talk soon. Cheers John.

    Pls I have my w124 using k jetro bt my car is mixing petrol and engine oil I have been looking for help never found any it is misfiring blue smoke wet spark plugs the mech once adjusted the sensor plate bt the problem came back after a month help me he says it's a bterfly problem help me
