The thing for me is, yes I want the Dodgers to have the best roster possible, to be competitive and to build a dinasty... but in order to be that, Soto is not needed, they've been in the playoffs for a decade straight, they have 2 rings in the last 5 years, they already have 4 HOF's (all arguably 1st ballot) and THE generational talent. Adding Snell made them even better and I don't mind that because there was the actual need for another great starter, but that's not the case with Soto since they can bring Teo back who turned out to complement the team smoothly. Imo, it was great for them having to face Soto with the Yankees because it increased excitement to the WS and to bring him to the Dodgers just because he's an elite player or a generational hitter feels like name chasing rather than a betterment of the team.
You wanna know why we went from saying "future Dodger" to not wanting him? We got Shohei Ohtani. We got our once in a lifetime player. Soto is great, but if we are being honest, we don't need him. I know the Dodgers print money, but I'd rather not add 600M for a player we don't need when we should be looking at pitching and figuring out SS (probably gonna be Lux). Add in the Padres stink, and I'd honestly just rather have Teo. I'm not a fan of the report in the Athletic about Soto wearing headphones during hitters meeting and not paying attention. My friends who are Padres fans also think there was a clubhouse issue since they were better without him this year. I don't know how he is in the clubhouse, but there is enough there to make me want to pass on a player they don't need.
Let’s go Teo !!
Heck yeah
Yes! Teo come home for Christmas.!
