Hi Ross..Mike Johnston will be proud of your verbal drum sounds.🗯️the importance of ghosting so very well explained here.the African style of...sing the beat...thousands years old..comes through here very well Ross..vocalising is the way to feel the pulse and react around it..metronomes where not around then...or course😂.so dancing and vocalising was the way to do it....great ambassador for Cajon Ross....all the best😁

Wonderfully and detailed explained , this instrument unfortunately doesn't figure among the percussion in musescore software , the version I have is 2.0.2 . I would like to use it as an inspiring graceful percussion , we would like to know its historical origin if there is any , is It very modern ( new invention ? ) or may be very old ?! Hey Ross, thank you such a great lesson, so much to think about other than just the fill. I have never thought of the dynamics so much until now, and the blurring of the ghost notes and accents which I have had a sudden realisation that this is what has been happening for me. Can I ask you about the metronome you are using. It looks and sounds really good, sounds like it has the kind of beat division required to do the deep dive into rhythms. Is it loud? I am also a sax player and I am always searching for the right kind of metronome, often they are not loud enough for the sax. I have a couple on my phone and on my computer but I want one that really breaks down into 16 notes like yours does. Can you get the one you have on line? Can you get it in Australia? Thank you once again, I have been watching your videos for years, you have taught me so much. Thank you from the Vonnstar

Should be able to get it online in Australia I think. There are likely some much cheaper ones that do the 16th note subdivisions as well though.

Yeah I always loved how good it feels to slowly master it at gradually faster tempos because of that touch of difficulty.
