I´ve started playing cajon seriously with 66 because of the way you teach. Before that I´was a teacher for decades. So I know, what I´m talking about. Thank you so much!

Thanks! I think I’ve done the same cross stick effect for a long while too and then this just happened as a happy accident and then I repeated it until it sounded good. Thanks again for coming to check out my work, mate!
I have been playing congo for a long time but recently shifted to Cajon. The way you teach is amazing. Thanks Ross for making this transition easy for me 😀
I think you have well earned the right to call this the.. Ross knock n' roll technique...fab mate..great to have you back ..and I am sure you have already got some nice groove stuff in the bag using your roll...very good Ross 😁😁🥁🥁🥁also it's great to play cajon without using any add ons...it makes you really think about how to get different dynamics..the Peruvian natural way...the way it was traditionally played....add ons ok for bit of fun....but getting the most out of a nice wooden box...always wins....and that's why your videos are so good.... shakers ok tho...lol😁😁🥁🥁🥁
Feels great to share something new that’s been a big feature of my playing recently. Sorry I haven’t been posting out to the public audience for a while!
Hi Ross i am a beginner and the day i started playing cajon i followed you because the way you teach is very understandable and nice . Can you do more on some beat like... 4/4 3/4 6/8 playing fills and groove together
Yes knock roll, but as a Drummer i think it is a kind of Linear phrasing…RLLK or LRRK Anyway it is very interesting and you are a very Smart teacher. Thanks from italy!

Very cool video Ross!! I usually use the Knock to give the cajon kind of a "snare cross stick" sound! But love this idea to combined on a roll!
