I ran across your video while looking for candle making videos. I will be making my own lip balm and hand cream thanks to your video. Very helpful. Thanks
I've had good results with this cream and use it all the time in the winter. Thanks for sharing. Good to know there are still beekeepers posting that aren't all about advertising and getting kickbacks from promoting commercial products even though they claim they don't.
I used to own an aromatherapy company and found this simple recipe very popular and really the best lip balms. The hand cream/ salve I made the same way with the same ingredients plus I added various essential oils.
I love your you tube channel! It is so interesting, Informative and instructional. I am going to make the hand cream and lip balms for gifts for Christmas. What a fun project. Hand cream and lip balm with wholesome natural ingredients are so good for your skin and much healthier than ones with a lot of chemicals. I really like the idea of using a can in the double boiler. Thanks for that idea! I had an old tin coffee pot that we used to use for camping that I will use. I am going to check out your website now.
9:35 hand cream recipe, 9:53 ratio: 1 oz beeswax add 6 oz oil, coconut extract to add aroma. This demo: 2 oz beeswax, 12 oz oil, 12:13 contents of 5 capsules vitamin E; 12:28 add in last portion of oil, stir and then out of water bath for pouring into containers. 13:50 making 2nd batch
Thank you for posting your videos they are very informative, especially for a backyard beekeeper like myself! I am planning to try making your lip balm and hand cream recipes. Is there a reason you use two types of oil? Is there a reason you don't use just olive oil in your mixtures? Thanks.
@BeekeepingwithTheBeeWhisperer could you try making the burts bees shea + creamy coconut healing hand and body lotion I want to understand how these things are created.
His recipe for for lip balm: 1 ounce of wax to 4 ounces of oil. 1-2 pills of vitamin E oil was added, and flavoring. He used canola and olive oil but It's better to use coconut oil instead of canola. For hand cream: 1 ounce wax to 6 ounces oil, Vit.E oil, flavoring. I hope this helps.

Drill holes in a board, a bit bigger than your balm tube. It will keep them upright, enough holes for your batch size.
Good tip!
Thank you for that, really interesting
Glad you enjoyed it!
