    Thank you for the recipe :D Would a small funnel help or would it be more trouble than it's worth?

      I’m not sure! I’ll try next time. I think not having the measuring cup so full would help.

    Lizzie, thanks for the video. I bought a kit on Amazon that you could insert 50 of the tubes into and it worked as a funnel and tube holder, it was rectangular shaped and had a plastic spatula that was the exact width to push the spillage down through tube holding device and fill every tube to the top. It came with 50 tubes and all utensils. After buying the kit then from then on all you had to buy was new tubes. You could fill any number of tubes from one to 50 at one pouring.

      I saw that kit when shopping for the tubes. Is it worth it? I’m normally not that messy of a pourer!

    Buy some syringes or pipettes and transfer into the tubes that way.
    Also a way to fix the dimples or holes at the top os to run a hair dryer over the top to even it back out

    I use a silicone pouring tray from Amazon.
    Crafter's Choice - Lip Balm Tube Filling Tray - Silicone Tray for Filling Lip Balm Tubes and Cosmetic Products - Round - 3001
    Initially, I used a plastic tray and ended up having to wipe off where the cap goes because the tubes fit loose at the top.
    I measure the wax once it is melted. I don't microwave the wax but melt it in an old mini crock pot so it does not overheat. The oils are microwaved until melted.
    I use either 4:1 or 3:1 ratio of wax to Shea butter & coconut oil by volume.
    4:1 ratio lets the lip balm melt on the lips when applied.
    I also add drops of vitamin E as well as the flavoring.
    Food flavoring is regulated, whereas essential oils are not, so their concentration can vary.
    I taste test while adding the flavor to determine strength.
    I use the same manufacturers tubes you use, only white, not clear, since my label covers the filled part.
    My labels also have a tamper seal that breaks once the cap is removed. It is available from Avery Labels, but only the US company. Not available in Canada.

      Thank you for all the tips and advice! Awesome. I started using little pots instead of the tubes. Goes a lot further, but I think the tubes sell better. 🐝👍🏻

    I would like to add castor oil to the mixture as it plumps your lips and moisturizes but I'm not sure how much to use. I think it would be too much to use in equal parts with the coconut oil but maybe 10 drops like the peppermint/eucalyptus oil would be okay, what do you think?

    Thank you for this - just what I was looking for :) But I don't get how much you use of the beeswax, coconut and olive oil. Is it 1 cup of each? Or maybe ½ cup?

    • @BeesBikinis
      @BeesBikinis  9 місяців тому +2

      I would start with 1/2 cup each and then let cool on a spoon and try. Add more oil if not to your desired texture.

    Hi, do you have a recipe for deodorant? Thanks!

    • @BeesBikinis
      @BeesBikinis  9 місяців тому +2

      Yes I do! Similar to my lip balm recipe!
      INGREDIENTS
      1/4 cup plus 1 TB organic virgin coconut oil
      1/4 cup or 2 oz organic beeswax
      1/4 cup non gmo cornstarch
      1/4 cup aluminum free baking soda
      10-20 drops essential oils
      INSTRUCTIONS
      In double boiler melt coconut oil over medium heat.
      Add beeswax to melted oil, continue to heat until wax is completely melted.
      Stir or whisk in cornstarch and baking soda until well blended.
      Add essential oils of choice and mix well. (optional)
      Pour mixture into empty deodorant containers or into small jar.
      Place in fridge for 10-15 minutes to set up.
