I absolutely support the idea of releasing DLCs to expand the game instead of pushing out new games annually. So I am definitely gonna buy this package. But I am not fully happy. There are some simple things, but also some that aren't as easy to add, I understand this. Starting with the simple stuff. Where is the livery of Mārtiņš Sesks? Where is the livery of Sami Pajari? They both had some great starts in the top class and I think that should be honoured by adding their liveries too. A bit more difficult would be to add Super Special Stages, to add a testing ground (eg. Dirt Fish area from DR2.0) and to rework the WRC2 career mode. I don't play the career mode in EA WRC, I don't quite like the events that fill up the calendar alongside the WRC events. But that's a personal thing. However, what should be changed, is that in WRC2 you should be able to pick the events you want to score points in - as in real life. I think this adds to the challenge of WRC2, choosing the events thar suit you to score points at and only using the others to learn, or even skip them. Only with this ruleset we have the current (strange) title fight, of Oli just watching the drama unfold on the remaining two rounds. This would just add a little spice, and I'd definitely appreciate that.
I will be buying it for sure. Love the game (not as much as Richard burns admittedly) and I love taking part in clubs and trying to beat my brothers ghosts in time trial. Buzzing for Poland and Latvia!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Some people saying it's a rip off and not enough content but they way I look at it is like this.... People don't think twice about spending £9 on a glass of wine for the wife and £5 for a beer these days. Alcohol makes you feel good for an hour swiftly followed by feeling anxious and sad lol. I will pay £17 for this and drink a cup of tea instead of beer and have many hours of fun!!! 👏🏽🙂👏🏽
Yes ladd, me and my Latvian friend have always discussed how sick the roads he drives irl would be in a game, and it’s happening, can’t wait to see it all ingame!
Have seen basically no one mention that the 2024 Rally1 cars don't even have the dashboard hybrid boost indicators like many of the real world WRC cars and teams utilize, the game is still using the standard rpm/rev/shift lights across the board, so the OSD/HUD instrument panel is still necessary if you need to know the hybrid boost status while in cockpit views. Hooray immersion.
Glad to see they are going with updates rather than new release. It’s a small thing but it annoys me I can’t edit the official liveries just to have my name on the car 😢
50% of the cost of a new game for around 20% extra content (on the high end) of the base game seems like a bad deal to me... but on the other hand, the original game was completely overflowing with unique km's so maybe I'm just expecting a bit too much.

I don't fully understand as a owner of WRC should I just buy the cars an location dlc for $19.99 or would I be missing some content not buying the Season expansion @$29.00?
Many wheels feel good in this game, I recommend 5 Nm minimum, so Moza R5, R9, Fanatec CSL DD (they even have a WRC wheel bundle) would be among my favorites for WRC. -Michel
I'm giving this DLC a miss for the moment. I paid AUD$59 brand new on launch day, and as the bugs have been ironed out, its evolved into a very good game. But the full DLC is AUD$50 - or almost 85% of the original purchase price - for one genuinely new car, and two new rallies. That's a lot of money for not a lot of new content. Once the remainder of the DLC rolls out, then it might be worth buying, but just not at the moment for me. However, I'm glad that people seem to be enjoying the new content. Just because it isn't for me at this point doesn't mean its not absolutely worthwhile for many others. 👍
Maybe....does it feel intuitive and nice to drive, well no and doubt it ever will especially the rally1 cars and group B. Id recommend riky sims physics mod for wrc generations as it makes the rally1 cars drivable and the hanbrake actually works on hairpins
@@Spudzmcduck lol mentioning a wrcg mod, that game is arcade. rally1 cars are super drivable now and less numb, very planted and feel quite good. i'd recommend not speaking of kt wrc and codemasters in the same context, you make a fool of yourself. and group b cars have never felt better. i genuinely believe the physics of WRC except tarmac are the best around. weight feel, gravel is unmatched. the damage model is stupid but rbr's is overly brutal and wrcg is, well, ass.
@@xCUSEMEKx Never said wrc G did group B cars better, the game has a bunch of clutch issues that have been partially fixed by modders. I like the weight transfer better in wrc G with the wrc cars and i much prefer the older cars in the EA one. I find the tarmac and rotation point of the cars feels off in the game and less enjoyable. Also you should try something before you knock it, all 3 games have their strengths and weaknesses for me. Out of curiosity do you use a wheel or controller?
But did they fix the Moments "Can't connect to server" bug where if you retry the Moment and win it, you can't save your win? Literally I won't buy the DLC until they patch that…
The biggest problem is that the special stages look too wide Poland and so on especially gravel surface and unrealistic as well. Car and environmental damage is a mile behind Dirt Rally. Even playing Dirt Rally or Dirt 4 from the P. Coleman production you can notice many better things. Mostly everywhere rallies look like a Pakistani Championship and avatars stick more to ISIS members including weird looks from the Co-driver so totally disconnected from the real rallying and previous games so far. It will be good for a couple of minutes on the sofa and nothing else because this game design is for the younger generation of players who have no idea about the rally in the past.
I really expected a big graphics update, they can say what they want, but one of the reasons DR 2.0 was so immersive was it's graphics which were amazing for it's time. EA WRC disappointed me from that aspect i am not even sure if it looks better than DR 2.0.
graphics are the last important thing for those who want a Rallysim. the physics and faithfully reproduced stages up to 40km in length are much more important. Ego engine can remain moldering. colors were also unrealistic in DR2.0
Ich hoffe sie bringen bald mal „wirklich“ ein paar neue Autos. Gerne die Wrc Fahrzeuge aus den 2010er Jahre und ebenso 90er. Und die Deutschen stages wären auch geil
I bought day 1 to support a new title and now they expect $30 for what should be a free update? I would gladly pay for half a dozen new stages, special stages, classic cars, and a revamped career. Heck the new version is $10 but I might as well wait until the game is EOL and scoop it instead of buying half finished game multiple times over a few years. They really screwed this one.
I’m so annoyed but not at all surprised, there’s only two new cars to WRC this year, the Rally2 Yaris and the hybridless Puma, and of course Codies only adds one of them
plz can somebody help me... im just lossst, i do not play online i only play career mode, , what do i have to purchase and download to play the 2024 season in career mode??? i have already the 2023 game off last year
Content is not the issue at all. Even just the base game has a wide variety of stages in many locations, they are very enjoyable to drive and there are many many cars. The issue is that the base game has some serious issues that need to be fixed before they release additional content. You can't even adjust the camera/fov of dash cam... VR is barely working... Bad performance, crashes, stutters... And they know it. The game was basically on perma sale during the summer (15$!). For me it's basically unplayable so I won't spend any more money on the game unless they fix the base, bring VR out of beta or at least give me better camera options and let me turn off the horrible camera shake.
@@trigunR I could. But the thing is, I'm very used to wide FoV from VR. And cockpit camera never feels right to me unless I put the TV right up to my wheel base. But when I do that, I get motion sick from the camera violently shaking and waving around (which you can't turn off). In addition, with modern rally cars, two thirds are blocked by the car interior/sunscreen and I can't put the seat far enough forward/upward to improve the view (nothing about this is realistic btw). That's why I prefer driving with dash cam but that is not adjustable, in some cars it's ok but in others the camera is so far down that you don't see the road close to the car... All these things are standard in every other sim oriented driving game and even WRC Generations had more configuration options. So I don't understand why they are so reluctant to give us more options.
Now mere hours away from this expansion releasing and still no way to purchase and pre install on PlayStation. I’ve been checking daily, but still nothing. Not smart Codemasters!
Michel weisst du warum es keine SSS Zuschauerprüfungen in diesem Lizenz Spiel gibt? Das das nach 11 monaten noch keiner gefragt hat von den Spielern is auch komisch! Let’s stop clutching at straws, it’s overpriced for what is effectively some liveries, sounds and a few air scoops. They’re asking for nearly 50% of the games cost for this DLC. The game is still a massive step backwards from the detail contained within Dirt Rally 2.0; dead looking dashboards, crappy pace notes if you’re actually pushing and not playing it as a stage memorisation game and let’s not even get into the fact it’s been out for a year now, and the snow fall/rain still looks like an instagram filter that doesn’t even stick to the car/windows. Driving older cars is just boring in this title, the historic classes along with the Group A/B cars in Dirt Rally 2.0 were the absolute stars of the show, they are clearly an afterthought in this title. Not to mention, we are still missing daily, weekly, monthly community events and delta daily challenges and so on. Maybe they should put as much effort into fixing the game before asking people for even more money.
I really enjoy the way WRC campaign is structured but I do have to agree with most people that the performance and handling of the dirt rally series is just better.
DIRT 2.0 and EA WRC ruined the older WRC games for me. The FFB, handling, stages, degradation, sound and game modes are just too good. The older games are just bad in comparison.

We need so bad the view settings for height /left right /tilt , most inside camera view are to damn high ,
Great video,many thanks
My question is if they improve the tarmac physic and handling?
It's already improved by 50-60% in gravel And 100% on tarmac.
@@Spudzmcduck think I didn't try? Lol
Is poland rally gonna be in my old career Save?
But did they fix the Moments "Can't connect to server" bug where if you retry the Moment and win it, you can't save your win? Literally I won't buy the DLC until they patch that…
It happens occasionaly still but most of the time your fine
12,50 on xbox store the whole wrc 24 already had to pick it up
i will wait until the price drops 20 $ is like what I payed for full games on sale
Is this game playable with controller?
I will buy it anyway because it's my main rally sim for multiplayer. But the content is lacking and we're still waiting for more optimizations.
Ich hoffe sie bringen bald mal „wirklich“ ein paar neue Autos. Gerne die Wrc Fahrzeuge aus den 2010er Jahre und ebenso 90er. Und die Deutschen stages wären auch geil
This game looks great on monitors but in vr it looks rubblish. Bought it and then refunded quickly.
Id say Im willing to buy in because it would push the needle towards every sport following suit making sports games biannual releases.
They should've given us more builder parts as well.
I. LOVE. THIS. GAME!
SOrry for the caps. But i will die on this hill
I’m so annoyed but not at all surprised, there’s only two new cars to WRC this year, the Rally2 Yaris and the hybridless Puma, and of course Codies only adds one of them
4:32 Three cylinder engines. lmfao! What's next? Turbocharged Weedwacker engines??
The wonder of european/japanese collaboration. not everything needs to be a v8
plz can somebody help me... im just lossst, i do not play online i only play career mode, , what do i have to purchase and download to play the 2024 season in career mode??? i have already the 2023 game off last year
ill be buying the game just to try fafe stage😅😅
@@clouds5 you can adjust the fov and move the camera in the cockpit what are you talking about?
@@trigunR talking about dash cam, which I happen to prefer.
@@clouds5 and you can't set the cockpit cam adjust the fov and move it around to match your preference?
@@clouds5 Yeah it´s a shame tbh, hope they can bring this options to the game. at least we have richard burns rally.
Now mere hours away from this expansion releasing and still no way to purchase and pre install on PlayStation. I’ve been checking daily, but still nothing. Not smart Codemasters!
EA take my money ❤
Is the new content also available if I buy a new physical copy of the base game?
why no new trophies????
It’s definitely good
I want classics and pikes peak cars
Minimal effort in my opinion. Its 2024 and dirt rally 2 was alot better!
U didnt talk about physics and comaper them to Dirt rally 2 and reality also optimization for PC stol havent pated this game in months as it looked bad on pc due to staterings infact there us a lot you didnt talk abt which was mostly our concern
Performance ( atleast on my end) has been improved vastly from release.
I have a Rtx 3060 TI
For me it's a great rally game that has both good dirt & asphalt physics and lots of real-life stages
WRC being the game it is. I am for sure not paying that much for DLC.... It's just not a great game
1:44 I mean .... look at the graphics ! dystopian rally stile by Codemasters. Does it looks better than DiRT 1.0 ? nope it doesn't. I give up, no more rally games for me
well, if the game doesnt crash after launch, that will be enough :)))

thank you

I like rally games, but I skipped this one, I can't bear with UE racing games anymore. There is so much input lag, and horrible terrain integration with the cars, which does not appeal to me.

your problem. game feels fucking awesome now.
@@xCUSEMEKx Maybe you are numb. This is not me, there are lots of people saying the same.
@@rockerbauer I've only heard people rave about the new update and expansion, especially those who actually play the game constantly 🫢
@@xCUSEMEKx Even tho the game can't match the number of DR2.0 players on Steam.
PS5 PRO ENHANCED PLEASE
I really enjoy the way WRC campaign is structured but I do have to agree with most people that the performance and handling of the dirt rally series is just better.
DIRT 2.0 and EA WRC ruined the older WRC games for me. The FFB, handling, stages, degradation, sound and game modes are just too good. The older games are just bad in comparison.
too bad the co-driver voice is unbearable, it would physically hurts my ear after 10 minutes
The maps look so fucking dull in this game. I want to get back into it but this is so lifeless.
Yeah I wanna race at 50 miles an hour in a game ......said nobody ever this game sucks
Not enough.
love the review, but Fk EA. i bought and played this on linux; have 166hrs play time, and 7months later this anticheat came out. I get their point it that linux wasnt supported but i cant get a refund. Ill never want to run Windows, and kernel level software for anything by any company is never good idea (i know ill get hate replies, oh well). Poland looks good and new cars.
That's really worst case for you :/ -Michel

I still really like this game.... same can't be said for the F1 franchise 😢
