People in Iceland are very angry and sad about this situation. We did help Namibia build up their fishing industry only to be ruined by greedy icelandic "businessman". Terrible.
@mamba701 was not a part of the documentary but shortly after namibia gained its independence Icelandic officials came to Namibia with an effort of helping Namibians build up their fishing industry. This was through humanitarian aid and done through government agencies and with the help of the UN . This is before icelandic private companies came to Namibia to exploit it. When that program ended, icelandic private companies like Samherji came in to exploit that goodwill. Many icelandic people feel horrible about this and feel saddened. We are also very disappointed in our governments and law enforcements lack of swift actions, seemingly because our government is just as much in Samherji's pocket as the namibian fisheries minister.
@@powersystem6856 This was one greedy icelandic company; we are pretty sure they are doing similar things here in Iceland, working with icelandic politicians.

I would like to thank Al Jazeera group for doing such a great investigation, this is an example of how a lot of business is conducted in Namibia and the rest of the world. While stating that the government is for the people you will evidently see that many officials befit from similar activities., one can visually also see that these "Sharks" are becoming richer while the majority of people that supported these individuals are drowning more into poverty. This video will definitely educate a lot of people in Namibia, Africa and the world.

Wow. Great journalism exposing these very greedy and corrupt people. I'm so ashamed of the graft that goes in high and low places in Africa and the rest of the world. Once again, well done, Al Jazeera.
The rain has started pouring, thanks again Al Jazeera, the weather was also captured, eish! Nature is content.........
Thank you Al Jazeera. You definitely opened our eyes. I'm literally getting goosebumps.
".. Round it off to 200" 😅 from 170 to 200.. The greed!
The round it of made me laugh. Too greedy.
I am so happy that white man come out because they he notice is corruption really well done thanx for blowing the whistle
Just saw this now, one word: EXCELLENT! Great investigations, wonderful journalism. More of this. Good work!
Amazing journalism. This is the modus operandi of corruption in Africa (country after country) with heartless politicians. Johannes, thank you for exposing this corruption. You are a brave man, and a good man.
I hope Namibia recovers everything left of what these corrupt fellows have stolen from Namibians, and I hope they pay a very heavy price for their actions.
Aljazeera, thank you very much. The sky is your limit.
Now every time I see a group of men sitting in a restaurant, I now know they are up to no good....
Same thoughts here
not all of them
Hahaha cmon
I saw a group of those kinda men at wimpy during February and I was like: iyaa it's exactly these type of them...then my sister laughed so badly 🤣
haahh so what are you doing there yourself
Sisa participated, but he tried to keep his hands clean as much as he could.. Trouble was the smell of the hour. As for Esau, shuu, what can we say to you? The man is greed...
His favourite colour is black😂😂
@@enrico5740 😂😂😂 it's tough man..
I think the head of the state is also involved in this
Of course, who do you think made Sacky a minister. Under Hifi, he was working at Legal Assistance Center.
They should investigate all the past presidents who knows how much they stole
Mr Johannes u r a true Hero, May God bless u. U deserve a recognition in my country Namibia. Thank u aAl Jazeera, come do more investigations in Namibia... the poor remain poor n the rich gets richer....
Aljazeera is top tier news. Thank you from South Africa, ask your headquarters to increase budget on these kinds of investigations
I think all the other people that disliked this video are the family members of the fishrot and swapo people
True 😂😂
And what's there to dislike at all? I mean it took an outside force that isnt biased to expose them and they still dislike it, smh
You are correct. Those are the indirect beneficiaries of the Maasbanker Boys.
True
Seriously why would you dislike the facts
Come investigate our 2019 elections too.
Please
Please
😂😂😂😂 who can tag the wife
Please
Its true
People in Iceland are very angry and sad about this situation. We did help Namibia build up their fishing industry only to be ruined by greedy icelandic "businessman". Terrible.
MisterDoctorE you are rogues. Stealing from Africa
They helped build the system before it was corrupt, by individuals...but any way lady bring back the money!
@@andrifsig so what are you going to do about it?
The reaction of the minister when he's asked about the Icelandic company is priceless 🤣🤣🤣
This was absolutely riveting! Excellent reporting and presentation! I find it highly reminiscent of US politics, circa 2016 to 2020. This documentary should win an award 🏆🏅👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's a pity African leaders do not negotiate deals for their countries but instead do it for themselves. what is more disheartening is them keeping money in foreign banks instead of Banks in their own countries.
Namibian film-makers this makes for an epic script!
On it ...
@@adrianovisagie we'll try to do a music video on it too.
I’m so sad.. 😢😢
I'm sad for the entire world Sally. Hate, corruption, greed, racism, etc etc. For some people it is the best times they have ever lived, for others it is the worst. I just want to say goodbye to my sin and be part of making the world a better place.
Because you vote for swapo
This country was not saved or won for us, it was decided a long time ago, I am passed sad.
We were sold for an iPhone a black one even.....😂😂😂😂
not just any iphone, one that takes double sim cards!
😂😂😂 his favorite color blacks, Esau for iPhone
He even had doubt's about his favorite color. Gave it a good thought.
🤣🤣🤣
😭😭😭😭
Embarrassing 😭
In Nigeria the Minister will just scream "off the mic!", and the interview is over. 😂
thank you Al Jazeera, Africa's growth is slow because of such individuals and these corrupt foreign companies we need more such victories in fighting corruption
This need to be translated in vernacular languages for screening in all the regions...Also thank you to Johannes for ending this practice... May God protect you always....Thank you AL Jazeera and your team of investigators. Shuu aaye, let me go drink my Hunter's Gold
I thought you would be inspired. Drink champagne instead.
Really thz time namibia we could nt hve poor for everythng
yes it's true , it needs to get to everyone
Good idea.
I agree, it needs to be translated in vernacular.
something namibian authourities were never able to investigate thank u foreign investigators
Don't question their ability, question their willingness to investigate.
These experts journalists should Come even to Congo. We are about to die with corruption In educated African's mind who are not able to learn from Toma Sankara ,Kwame of Ghana ....
Aljazeera is the best channel, hope it doesn't get influenced by Qatar government.
It's a qatari govt broadcast. But I trust this channel.
If Africa as a whole had this kind of jounalism, Africa would have been a very better continent. Africa has enough resources that wouldn't even need Africans to go to other continents. Corruption by some politicians is a very destructive demon. May God restore and bless Africa.
Well Done Al Jazeera for making this open to the world Good Job Done !
I am eager to see how all this is gone end, this is hardcore evidence.
All those involved must be locked up behind bars. Thank you Al Jazeera for uncovering the truth.
Great story..... Consider doing a corruption story about the Chinese in Africa!
CHINESE ARE VERY SMART IT MAYBE HARD TO GET THROUGH TO THE CHINESE BECAUSE OF THEIR TIGHT COMMUNITIES
God bless Johannes for the truth❤
I would like to thank Al Jazeera group for doing such a great investigation, this is an example of how a lot of business is conducted in Namibia and the rest of the world. While stating that the government is for the people you will evidently see that many officials befit from similar activities., one can visually also see that these "Sharks" are becoming richer while the majority of people that supported these individuals are drowning more into poverty. This video will definitely educate a lot of people in Namibia, Africa and the world.
Heads might roll.
But this is Africa. Am not holding my breath.
Well more heads have rolled already then in Iceland, nothing has been done there.
@@B.spiritual resignation and being charged in court is all political show. We see a lot of that in Kenya.
If they've not been sentenced it is nothing, trust me. They'll be back in office after a few years, doing injunctions and judicial reviews to frustrate a case that will end up with a lack of evidence or mistrial or something like that.
Thank you for shedding light unto our country's corruption... Hopefully Heavy action will be taken!
Wow, I have never been to Namibia but I watched the whole documentary.
Thank u for watching. This is what is happening. Imagine the same president apparently just won the election yesterday. We use Electronic voting machine from India that could be manipulated. We marched against the use of EVMS but the court ruled in favour of the use of EVMS. There are strong evidence that the other candidate won the election but since the ruling party apparently had money they paid everyone including the SADC observers. It is a sad reality. We are suffering in our country because of these greedy bafoons. The mining industry should be investigated. We are a small population of less than 3 million people but the poverty in the country is an eye sore with children dying because of malnutrition. People losing jobs because of these corrupt dealings. We marched but nothing helped. I am very emotional as I am writing. God has turned his back on us. Why God?
@@Foibeh you forgot to mention the evm that were used by the Swapo party in a internal election and then 'fell off a trailer' in the same Shangala's words to get lost before elections. They surely were used to collect illegal votes.
But all this aside
Namibia is a fantastic place so come and see for yourself, Anne
Dont come. this country is corrupt to the core. The fishrot scandal is just the tip of the iceberg.
where are from
This is one heck of a documentary, it makes me feel proud to be a journalist. 👏🏽🤝🏾
Any Namibian's here? Al Jazeera is doing good job investigating those culprits.
Poor Esau, betraying the nation for a dual sim IPhone from China😄😀
What a shame 🤣🤣
Well iPhone's are manufactured in China
😂😂
The lack of information namibians have baffles me sometimes, I don't blame them because the elite are behind keeping the masses in the dark so they can loot, it took outsiders to expose the corrupt officials,
Disgusting
Thank you Aljazeera for your service to our country!
I am now a vegetarian because my pot of meat overcooked while watching this documentary
I need a drink right now.
