OG pumping that Black Friday sale for the algorithm. Can't wait for the kitchen video coming up where matt goes through the kitchen drawers explaining the benefits of forks and spoons at different angles, lengths, widths, etc.
Looks like you've finally nailed down to all of the UA-cam internet trendy tools over the last 5-10 years. Not a surprise, just surprised it took you this long. But man, Im a huge Wera fan, but I think that when you are doing an extensive set like this, being so brand loyal, as going with one single brand and style of tool (or handle), while it looks pretty, it's actually rather limiting, to one who actually turns a wrench or a screw driver on a regular basis. In other words, I have a lot of Wera Screw drivers, but I also have several Klein, Wiha, Vessel, Tekton and even some Craftsman, Stanley, Milwaukee, Kobalt and others. I can get them to look pretty too, on a rail sold at Harbor Freight. The thing is, they are have a different feel in the hand, which can be unique to a given situation. While I love Wera and are probably my favorite, I'd never be tied down to a single handle design like that. Btw, their ratchets are sub par to many others but you'll figure that out and maybe you already as with the Kohken and Hazet. To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a high end mechanic or race mechanic with solely a single brand like this, unless it was a sponsorship thing (say if Gearwrench or Snap On sponsor a race team).
MAN! I would love to have even one tool box setup like yours. It is not cheap to make your tool box look nice. As of right now I can not buy anything to help me get my tools setup any better then just laying them in my tool cart. I am not going to bore you with a sad life story and just enjoy your video and maybe get some ideas so in the future I might be able to do the same. Thanks for sharing and have a happy holiday coming up here in the US. The wrench and socket draws were EPIC man!!! Fantastic work and congrats on all the success here on You Tube.
Have really enjoyed the tool series. I would like to see Snap On make an appearance with the dead blow ball peen hammers. Mac / Stanley anti vibes are great too. Beta makes good hex / torx keys, I like some of their torque wrenches too. A brand I think that needs desperately adding is Grip Edge, their stuff is phenomenal. Cheers !
You don’t have to dig very far into levels just grab the stabilia catalogue. (Even maybe talk to Kyle from RR when you’re up doing the lights he works with them)
Eight brand hex keys with the extension pipes on the holder are a favorite along with the Wera Hex-Plus that do not have the plastic sleeves. If the sleeves are not sticky out of the package, they seem to get sticky after they get some grease and grime built up on them.
This channel is drifting further and further away from the average car / garage guy. Now he caters to guys with assistants that fill his buckets. Should change the name to obsessed millionaires.
Matt - need help with Drill bits. I know they are by nature an item that wears down over time but every solution from the major brands/big box stores is garbage. I want to go to one drawer, find the size and type of bit I need and get back to business. Its driving me nuts.
Supreme content as always, Matt. Was there ever a thought, instead of shelling out all the $$ to buy the tools and then going through the hassle of selling off things, to have an opportunity to visit each manufacturer directly for a few days and do a similar gathering and subsequent elimination of tools? Or do you need actual tactile and real-world time with the collection of tools to have a certain "satisfaction" with the end-state?
I think an important part of my process is to live with it in my garage. I would need to be at the manufacturer for a week or longer to get to this point.
@@G.Dean100That is what he did. This project has been going on for years. It is where it is for late 2024. New tools come out every year by every brand. Sometimes, you just have to choose based on your gut, not always use. These aren't budget (cheap) tools. Once you get into this level of research with these brands, they all work similarly. Differences would be purposely done by the designers for specific reasons. There aren't but so many ways to make a screwdriver.
So a genuine question, why not use stainless everything for the Wira stuff? Like if some fasteners should be used with stainless, I'd imagine they work on standard fasteners as well
Stainless is softer because it contains less carbon. However, stainless is more resistant to impacts because of the chromium (used to limit oxidation). As far as fasteners go, stainless is really good if you aren't going to remove and install them a lot. Stainless likes to be looked at not abused.
The company Felo has better version of VDE swapable screwdrivers IMHO, the IECsafety bits are amazing. They stuff in general is top tier and rivals Wera at times.
Cringe, I know … but I’m still using my Snap On tools with Zeus foam inserts. Meh, I invested in them 30 years ago … sue me. Never had any Snap On tool failure and my inserts look brand new. But I’m very meticulous about how I care for them. Yes, foam is NOT optimal for storage but man they look good. In the end, you gotta use what you have or can afford. 😊😊😊
30 years ago Snap-on wasn't a finance company hocking tools. I have 30-plus year old industrial wrenches by Snap-on with those inserts in my Dad's old roller box from when he was an industrial welder/plant mechanic. However, I'm not nostalgic enough to make some claim about how they don't make 'em like that anymore.
@ gotcha. So since most of use won’t ever need to use them we can have them excluded from our package and price will be adjust automatically on the website? Not saying I don’t believe you that they are awesome but honestly I would rather not purchase tools I won’t need or use.

The name of your channel is very accurate.
For all of the newbies, can they get a heaping helping of the yearly Matty-rant about the Thanksgiving meal and fixins?
Spotted the UK hat, go Cats! Pope’s first season has been exciting so far
Love the tools, but love the Cats even more! Thanks for showing Kentucky some love by putting the hat front and center. Keep the great vids coming.
They are so organized and beautiful that I wouldn't want to use them, haha!
he doesn't

Eight is my favorite tool brand for everything hex
Haha! Snap the binding over your knee then rip the book in half. I use to rip the old thick books in half.

Teach me how to tear a phone book, Matty!
I know you’re not one to try and go viral but A reel of Matty ripping the snap on 2025 catalogue in half is a good way to ring in the new year
what is the name of the drawer glides? look realy sturdy for a project im working on
You had me until you mention Gear Wrench. I think an intervention is in order Matt.
Ha, ha... Yeah, I tried really hard to find something better.
What about impact sockets? I didn’t see any in your collection.

I think VESSEL is only good if you work on JIS vehicle
So a genuine question, why not use stainless everything for the Wira stuff? Like if some fasteners should be used with stainless, I'd imagine they work on standard fasteners as well
I may be wrong but I think stainless is softer and will wear out quicker if used on steel fasteners

All the gear, no idea
Phonebook.......what's that?
Can I ask why would we want redundancy here with tools? I think it sounded like a majority of tools are going to be sold as “sets”?
For example, Z-series, Nut-Grip, Mid-height are all unnecessary, but they are all pretty awesome.
