- I'm flying the modified Georgian Hammer campaign originally made by ED for the A-10. The Apache fits in quite well here. Overall a great challenge for mastering the Apache, and loads of fun to fly in!

George Ai from Georgia USA in Georgia (country) on the Georgian Hammer campaign, hammering enemies in Georgia. lol
And married to a woman named Georgia
Fun fact, feathering the gun trigger with 2-3 round bursts can cause gun failures and faults not simulated in this game. Best practice is to adjust your burst limit and hold the trigger until the burst is complete.
Wow that's good to know! It sounds like the junky trigger on the M16A2!
Mind blowing graphics... look at the hook dangling upper left. 5:01
Very cool. thank you.
Great stuff! What else did you have to modify from the A10 campaign (one obviously being the airframe?)
I didn't modify the campaign, it's on the user files of ED's website. Someone else did the hard work, I just played the mission 🙂
What was the range of that second kill? I went from "Any day now" to "How far away is that thing" to "Did we just LOOSE the missle, or...."
I don't remember at this point but it was likely a max range shot lol
You using VR glasses? Good stuff.
No, I just use TrackIR. Thanks.
I did that mission with the A-10
Yeah its a converted campaign that uses the apache instead of the A-10.
is this campaign available
Yes, it's on the dcs user files.
What map is this? Georgia?
Yes that's right
In Afghanistan the arrival of a pair of AH-64s would make the Taliban settle down and disappear.
Army helicopters do not do CAS, we do CCAs.
imagine doing taxi with heli :D
Where's the fun in that?!

Green tracers? Wtf..?
I hate to be that guy....but since the DCS system is focused on being on as close to reality as possible I have to make the observation that this crew was conducting LOBL engagements with SAL2 missiles at a range of 7500m. While possible, the Probability of Hit LOBL is SIGNIFICANTLY degraded beyond 7100m.
Is the laser not very affective at that range?
Laser is fine, it's that particular version of hellfire missile. On a LOBL trajectory, the missile is only guaranted to have enough energy or battery power to reach about 7km.
Seems like a plausible limitation of the missible.. DCS evolves and the Apache is still very early in it's lifetime with the hellfire missle being very iconically launched from the platform. They will improve the accuracy of it's limitations and capabilities over time as it makes sense. The extra range doesn't seem like it would make the Apache over capable in scenarios it otherwise wouldn't though.
Depends on the altitude. I flew Apaches for 11 years and can count on one hand how many times I fired LOAL.
