I’ve been using OBS studio for years. I recently tried using SL because of the integration with twitch and the overlays, but it’s definitely a little learning curve over what I’m used to. I think SL has better plug ins, but overall I’d rather stick with OBS. Thanks for the reference to Stream Elements, I’ll check that out for my current set up.

Thanks for the info dude. I am currently running SLOBS on a Macbook Pro, and while I like SLOBS, it does lag a bit with the stream. I think when I do get my PC built that I am building, I will be switching over to OBS. You have made this streamer a bit smarter in the options.

SLOBS definitely has the upper hand for newbies. But personally for me, I think OBS wins the battle because it gets easy to use as you progress and watch tutorials. Great video by the way! You definitely deserve more subs!

I have to agree, I been using StreamLabs OBS and I just been struggling with it.. Sometimes the Cam wants to act up.. Or it is the Feed wants to load slow... OR It will not upload certain things as a image.. I even spoke with customer support they say "Software issue" But everyone else runs better and handles fine.... Thanks for the info big help.
Thanks for the comparisons dude. Just got into Twitch streaming like late last week. I've been using stream labs OBS, and I never thought to download OBS Studio cuz I thought there wasn't much of a difference. But now seeing the video, OBS Studio does seem to be more complex than Stream labs, but I'm sure I can figure it out with a little bit of time. Again, thanks.

Yo thank you for this video, it helped me make the important decision to switch over to OBS Live. I was already using streamlabs and for the most part it was pretty easy getting into. But the reason I have look into switching was because stream labs was struggling to play and stream my pc games (normally I stream with pc and capture gameplay from ps4). Now I have been trying pc games and streamlabs has been struggling. I am a graphic snob and I am big on performance. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much of this video, it swayed me to switch to OBS Live/Studio and my cpu usage went from an average of 35-40% down to 14-17% cpu usage and much better audio and video quality!
Glad ypu seen a huge improvement! The performance is the main reason I switched as well.
I've stuck with SLOBS for a long time because of the simplicity but had to switch to obs because slobs made my facecam not utilize 60 fps and had a lot of ghosting i couldn't fix on it and despite having a 2080ti and an i9 9900k it used more cpu than it needed compared to regular obs so yeah. i'd highly recommend obs if you're already used to streaming and got the hang of how both these programs work!

I like Restream and OBS Studio. You can change the title through the restream add on.
you talk about opening a new window for changing stream info, do you mean the edit button in slobs that changes all of that?
5:20 slobs has it as well you just need to click the pencil on top of chat so it doesn't clutter the UI

Great video. I did have a question though. OBS studio isnt recording the full video. I record a 20 min video and it only saves 13 seconds of it. Before this happened I was able to record a full 20 min video. Google says that messing with the properties and running it as an administrator might fix it. I looked up the problem on google and people are having the same problem but no solution. I have over 300 gb of free storage so it's not disc space.

Do you have a discord server and do you have a full video on setting up obs fully? Like I csn live stream my videos on twitch but I'm looking for an intro to and then an ending video, also something I csn put in where ite like with timers if I have gone to make a drink or something, just to keep viewers entertained etc, I haven't really streamed full but I'm looking into streaming and becoming bigger. Also great video!

That source recording feature is AMAZING, but the performance hit is kind of a deal breaker sadlyu.
I wish I could stay with streamlabs, but I'm having lag issues..I'm on xbox one, using El Gato hd60S+ capture card through a gaming (asus) laptop with 200mbps download and 10upload internet. It actually tests a little higher than that (except through my Xbox-for some reason speed test numbers are lower even though I'm hardwired). So I'll try switching to OBS and see if it helps.

I agree but they took away the information window. I guess they felt it's in Twitch stream so you don't need it. Other than that I agree and thanks for this video it was really helpful.
How do i set an audio output as a recording input on Android device?
For example, I want my Twitch/UA-cam stream has only a music that is played inside the phone instead of a microphone.

I setup my obs first but then switched to slobs for more features. However, I can't get my stream going at all with slobs so it really pains my heart. I haven't tried switching back to obs yet but I'm glad I may found the solution here

I'm not a fan personally, but I also haven't used it anytime recently so I could be much different than I remember.
What would you suggest for live streaming sports???? Don't need all the fancy stuff. Already created graphics I need (Scoreboard) Just need it to be good at 720p 30FPS.
Either will work, id still suggest obs studio but if you want it easier go with slobs

Is there a plugin or a way to do selective recording on Streamelements OBS or OBS live? It's the only thing that makes me hesitate between the two, if there was a way to do selective recording using Streamelements OBS I wouldn't even consider using Streamlabs!
I haven't found anything on that, but I don't really see it's appeal.
If you still looking for it, maybe try looking on obs' site for a plugin - it's under forum then resources.

Hey RyTech Gaming, I have a question: I saw a twitch channel with both streamlabs donation and streamelements donation. I thought you can only use streamelements donation when you use streamelements to stream. And streamlabs donation is only usable when you use streamlabs to stream? But at the same time you can only use one software to stream. Does it not matter which software to stream and you can use both streamlabs donation and streamelements donation at the same time?
The platforms and the alert services are interchangeable so you can use either with either. Some just have built in functionality for their service.

It should automatically capture audio with game capture or window capture.

It almost seams like Streamlabs is great for beginners to start with learn the ins and outs and then switch to OBS studios once they get the hang of it and want to branch out more.
