Telling Eleanor is absolutely the right thing to do-- I get why people's first instinct is to protect their loved ones from realizations that might hurt them, but your mentally ill/disabled loved ones also deserve to be treated like people and told the truth! I've never been anything but hurt by realizing someone has kept something important from me "for my health".
I do not think it is the correct option, telling sad things to people with Alzheimer's disease is usually unnecessary because they will forget what you told them, so the next day you will be reminding them of the death of a loved one daily, wrapping them in a loop of misery (sorry if my english is bad, it is my second language)

I'm an asexual lesbian who's not remotely attracted to Ryan but I'd really struggle on picking who to date if I was playing. That's some good writing and characterization. And definitely great bisexual rep. Often in games like this where you pick who to date (and that has to mean the main character is bisexual) it feels like the gay option is always the better option but I don't feel that way here.

gosh, dementia runs in my family and its really hard seeing it happen to my great grandmother and, decades later, my grandmother. I get scared about when it will happen to my parents. Its hard to see and this depiction is hard to see. the informing of gabes death was tragic. rough. I get scared about when it will happen to me. Very tragic. I hope we find a cure for dementia soon
@@Ivy-hz1dl i vaguely remember them regretting not doing the heist because they didnt know it did the finn romance. which, to be honest, is one of the reasons i didn’t like the romance aspect of lis2. the fact that sean’s bisexuality could be entirely ignored or undiscovered kinda sucked. especially because lis2 was mostly about sean’s influence on his brother, and most people did not want to risk his brother’s safety or morals, so they avoided the heist, therefore never knowing that they could pursue finn. and there are plenty of people that DID go for the heist and told finn they weren’t into him, which plays into the “gay button” trope, in which the PLAYER’S sexuality is the character’s sexuality. i enjoy alex in this story because both steph and ryan are explicit options for her and she says she could be interested in pursuing either of them. this whole phenomenon is covered in a video called “how bisexuality changed video games”, which i super recommend if this phenomenon of the player choosing character sexuality is interesting to you. (sorry for the random tangent, i just really like reading into choice based games)

The game kept shoving Warren into our faces as that awkward nerdy boy who really likes Max while she (mostly) only sees him as a friend unless you decide to kiss him, to "get" Chloe though, the player had to side with her throughout ALL of the story just to get a goodbye kiss before she dies (or doesn’t, personally I didn’t feel like sacrificing a whole town for a single person, not to mention her toxic behaviour at times but I digress.) I think what’s really well done in LIS true colors is that both romance options are showed as equally desirable, both Steph and Ryan are morally "good" and attractive people. Unlike in LIS1 and 2 where the games clearly had a "favorite" in some way or another.

it sucks bc i feel like both sean and max suffered from the “gay button” trope where their more lgbt love interests can be entirely ignored or even undiscovered in sean x finn in order to target a larger audience. it’s good for sales but as far as representation, it sucks. if you don’t romance finn, then sean never says anything about being bisexual. he can even deny it completely and have that be canon. with max, the chole romance is played as a joke (the kiss, which also mentions a man in someway) up until the player actually goes out of their way to pursue it. but the entire game we hear about chole and rachel’s bad boy phases and how much the female characters are attracted to the male characters. sean is way worse bc finn is actively putting his brother in danger so obviously people wouldn’t do the heist, which is the only way to see their romance start, and even then you can still deny his feelings and have sean be straight. i would rather have more LIS3 like games where the main characters are definitive sexualities ( or even on a spectrum, as long as they canonically claim it) and the player cannot ignore the fact that the main character is, in fact, lgbt.
