Hi Maria I have 2 children with autism and one of them has trouble sleeping which is my 8 year old daughter and she hasn't slept in her own bed for ages as she has trouble with sleeping in her own bed and I'm constantly in her bed for a peaceful nights sleep. I was getting stressed and someone told me about asmr so watched your video on UA-cam and felt so relaxed and started to watch your video alot more and felt so relaxed and wondered if it would work with my 8 year old daughter and put headphones on and sat with her and she fell asleep and everytime she gets anxious of sleeping I put your video on UA-cam on my ipad for her to listen and she sleeps so I would love to thank you so much as your soft voice has helped my daughter who couldn't go to sleep on her own for years now goes to asleep on her own by listening to your voice xx
My son has autistic tendencies but has yet to be diagnosed, he is still very young but he has a very strong connection with asmr, Maria impariticulary, and these videos keep him calm at times when he himself cannot so thank you Maria!
Oh absolutely, nothing beats her old videos her natural unrehearsed voice is just magical! When ever I can’t find a good asmr video to relax or fall asleep to, I always come back to these old vids of Maria’s! Soooo tingly, just heavenly nothing beats them
Hi I’m Korean. This is the video that was posted when I was 13 and I’m 19 now. I think it wonderful and thankful that I can still watch your video. I love you so much. 💛💛
It would be amazing to have another bookstore/shop keeper video like this. I love the sounds of looking for the books and the behind the viewer/over the shoulder showcasing moments
Side effects may include: -Calmness -Euphoria -A darn good nights sleep Ask your doctor if Gentle Whispering is right for you (spoiler: it is) -Drink- Listen responsibly.
The sound of the high heels at the start, and the riffling through the pages casually and fast, for real the first few minutes of this video have no comparison. I've literally never found anything that scratches this specific itch so well
This is one of my favorite videos -- not only do I love the page-flipping (which is glorious), but I so enjoy the part where you're searching for books off-camera. For some reason, I love the sound of soft foot-tapping on a floor, especially when I can't see the person. (When I would take yoga, I loved it when we had our eyes closed in meditation and the yoga teacher would softly walk around the room barefoot on the hardwood floor.) Ahhh...the eccentricities of ASMR!
Even though its old, and not as sophisticated as a lot of Marias more recent work, this is still my go to video for tingles. I more or less know the words now but this has got me through some stressful times.
the walking in the large room at the beginning gave me tingles. anyone else? some good early asmr experiences for me were in a quiet library -- someone behind me studying by reading aloud but in a quiet whisper, someone else softly chewing gum and reading. the reverb in the large space seemed to help. maybe the library idea is just triggering me.
The part where you're looking for the books is sooo good! It's giving me loads of tingles. I wish you would do a whole video with just that and the sound of walking.
I have probably listened to this literally 100 times over the years. I couldn't find my headphones last night and couldn't sleep, but didn't want to wake my partner. So I tried watching the visuals of ASMR videos. I tried watching so many tracing videos because I find that relaxing and so many of them are so fast and abrasive I feel like at least to me. I love the way your hands just kind of have a flow to them. They're like an extension of your voice and the atmosphere you try to create in your videos. Not having sound was such a unique ASMR experience and it really got me thinking about how ASMR videos have evolved beyond just a sound experience.
This remains one of my favorite videos of yours. The walking around and handling of the books and pages, along with your ASMR-perfect voice (I think just about everyone can agree on that), really works for me. Plus, more and more people are discovering and becoming a part of the ASMR community, and you have a lot to do with that. :D
Just love books and paper in these videos. They're huge triggers. Takes me back to my English teacher who used to leaf through the text book whilst I wondered why my head was buzzing.
This video is my favorite. I have always loved books and reading before bed, so I think I naturally associate the sound of a creaking book binding or page flipping with sleep. Your good-natured voice over it all completely shuts down my busy brain. Thanks for all you do 🙏🙌🙏
I will say I'm a reciverig addict that learning different. Ways to relax and your videos have proven to me that there's others ways instead of using thank you.,
maria, the sounds of your footsteps in the heels in this video (at the very beginning and when you are off camera looking for the books) are AMAZING please do more of this if the mood strikes I would love it so much!
Just because it doesn't relax you doesn't mean its not ASMR. I, for one, only get ASMR strongly from stuff like fabrics and books, but some people find food slupring relaxing (whereas I want to vomit when I come across a food slurping ASMR - its not relaxing for me but it doesn't mean other people don't or can't benefit) and that's fine, because we're all different :)
Well said. Everybody has different triggers for ASMR. I for one enjoy slow page turning, soft speaking/whispering, deliberate counting of random items, and lice check role plays (particularly because it reminds me of when I was in school, we would get lice checks from time to time, and the very thin sticks they would use would produce such an intense tingling sensation that made it hard for me to concentrate, yet it was such a euphoric feeling at the same time, which is strongly related to what we experience nowadays, ASMR).
This is one of my favorites. You are a gem! You should do informative asmr... i feel like i could really learn a lot from you while relaxing at the same time! Maybe a geography or history lesson? Or even science, and you can do the experiments step by step? (clinking test tubes would be lovely) even if i fall asleep maybe i'll subliminally learn something :) just an idea... love what you do, thank you for being my stress relief!
I suffer from regular flash backs and panic attacks due to anxiety and ptsd and listening to your videos has helped me be able to relax and breathe through an episode. So thank you very much :) xx
Please more of the book searching, stacking, sorting sounds with the page manipulation. This is the only video I can find that has them. After listening dozens of times, it still works for me. No immunity.
I'd love for you to do a video in this style again, the low fidelity audio helps with making the noises soft and crunchy, the roleplay is minimal, the godfather section, especially the enclosure, is soooo tingly and relaxing with all the moving paper. I bought the safari book and the godfather because of this haha
The whole sequence of going back and forth looking for the books and flipping through them basically makes my brain melt... I *love* that part. I replay it over and over and over again. And your voice is so relaxing Maria! You are so wonderful!
I've come back to this video three nights in a row because I love soft speaking and page turning together, and this video is the absolute best I've ever found. Thank you so much!
I go through phases of what kind of ASMR videos are my favorite. And then I will watch them on repeat through the month and they will give me instant tingles and sleep. Right now I can not get enough of this video and the library video. The sounds are amazing and I like listening to you talk about how the books. Thank you again Maria!
my whole life is depresing but whit you'r angel voice you make me smiel every day (also you'r videos help me sleep ) thank you for making every body happy :)
I just couldn't get asmr the same as when watching other videos with them making unnatural and noisy sloppy sounds with their mouth. It just sounds too unnatural for me, whereas you find Maria and the asmr is a thousand times better ☺️.
I only realised my associations a few years ago. In college if someone was seated behind me and turning pages, it was if a dreamy, swoony, mesmerizing feeling came over me in waves - starting in my head, almost from my forehead, if that makes sense. I'm sure it goes back to when I was a child, falling asleep with my head in my mums lap, whilst she read a book.
I've only been watching asmr and Maria for 4 years now almost but.. This video is 7 years old and man. You can tell she's such a natural and has always been true to herself and genuine 😍
This exact video was the one that introduced me to the world of ASMR... it’s on my most frequent playlist. Please make another video like this one!! Omg I’m STILL in heaven ♥️
I would love to see more book-related videos from you, Maria! :) I love when people tap on books and scratch on them along with the whispering and flipping of the pages. Thank you so much for your hard work!
I think I've listened to the "side-to-side book sounds" portion of this video 200+ times. A whole video of the book sounds would be amazing! Sorting books at the library, sorting paperwork/files, etc. Comatose over here! :)
This is the first time I've gotten tingles from a speaking video. Usually I only watch "silent" ones. This, however, is freaking phenomenal! Love it!!!
this reminds me of when i used to be lulled to sleep while i was read stories. it's very relaxing. some people love nails scratching, and when someone scratches an old pen, or water sounds, which i don't. everyone's got their asmr things.
I absolutely love your voice it's so therapeutic, would love to see a full video in the whisper you did the last book on. Was so soothing I have to keep playing it back 💜
I always am hesitant to make suggestions, because I always love whatever content Maria happens to put out, but I would really love a video or a series of videos with Maria just... reading. It wouldn't have to be edited or with fancy mics, either. Anything she'd like to record, even just a reading of a book she wanted to read in her free time anyway. It could be a novel or a play or mythology or a short story or non-fiction or an article or poetry or a freaking maths textbook, I don't care. I just love her voice and whenever I try to listen to an audiobook or something, all I can think is, "I wish Maria were reading this!"
Probably Russian since it’s her first language. I seen another video some woman knew multiple langueages but said her thoughts and even her dreams were all in her native language
I love this question! While learning other languages, I sometimes dream and think outside of English. I imagine it can be either, but I'd love to know!
My native language is not english , but sometimes i thought things in english, or mumble in english. It's a little weird for me, i don't even hear english in where i live outside of school or internet.
Maria, thank you so much for this video! This book lovers and the purses are my favorite. I have listened to them many many times. I'm very thankful for your time and care in these videos. Thank you.
I have been watching your videos for a long time but never had a UA-cam account so I couldn't comment. I just want to say how helpful your videos have been to me. No matter how many ASMR videos I watch, I always return to yours. It's the personal touch you give in your videos, your lovely accent, and your genuine kindness that I love returning to. You are so humble and very sweet. It's obvious how much effort you put into your videos. Thank you so much Maria!
Ever since I was a child I used to get tingles when I was in library listening to tapping sound of people steps, sound of pages of books being flipped and whispers of librarian talking to visitors. And I did not know that. And probably thought I am the only one that felt it. Turns out no. Many people feel that sudden rush of well being from sounds,
Please do a 2023 version of this pleeeeeeease! Thank you Maria!
Agreed ‼‼

Honestly this is such a classic. The heel clicks, writing with the pen, paper sounds, personal attention, ugh 💗
It’s been 8 years and this is still one of the tingliest ASMR videos I’ve ever come across 😴
Same. I watch it all the time!
Agreed!
Yes, all of it, but esp when she is walking around looking for the books - her heels and the book sounds in that are so tingly
Oh absolutely, nothing beats her old videos her natural unrehearsed voice is just magical! When ever I can’t find a good asmr video to relax or fall asleep to, I always come back to these old vids of Maria’s! Soooo tingly, just heavenly nothing beats them
@@lauraparker396 that’s my favourite part! The heels plus book sounds are perfect. I’d die for a remake
watching in 2019. I hope she does another book-themed video. This is my favorite of all time.
Still in 2020😴😴💖🇨🇮
This video is my favorite too. Still knocks me out, even when I don't get tingles.
Rooby Roo it’s a sense of security during all the panic going on in the world
the part where she goes 'behind you' feels so good
Rooby Roo I agree! Her Footsteps are sooo awesome in this.
i love the sound when you look for the books... shuffling books, tapping, soft flapping of the pages, numb claps of the book covers.. huge triggers :)
Idk what it is about these older ASMR videos but they are literally the best. You can’t beat them!
Because this was before they started trying to make everything high production and do too damn much. It was just simple asmr vids
Hi I’m Korean. This is the video that was posted when I was 13 and I’m 19 now. I think it wonderful and thankful that I can still watch your video. I love you so much. 💛💛
Today is exactly 9 years of this Role play. And still one of my favorite videos of You 😁
It would be amazing to have another bookstore/shop keeper video like this. I love the sounds of looking for the books and the behind the viewer/over the shoulder showcasing moments
For anybody else struggling with anxiety, I recommend one daily serving of GentleWhispering, to be ingested visually and aurally.
...I think I overdosed...
This helps my anxiety so much
Alex Fisher
Alex Fisher Music I think i might overdose on asmr lol
Side effects may include:
-Calmness
-Euphoria
-A darn good nights sleep
Ask your doctor if Gentle Whispering is right for you (spoiler: it is)
-Drink- Listen responsibly.
please make more videos like this, with books! they are my favorite trigger
Yesss

Michele Neri i knooow right

Mine too! :)
it's that sound of heels walking slowly! and pages turning! reminds me of taking tests at school. My ASMR is why I always fell asleep in class!
The sound of the high heels at the start, and the riffling through the pages casually and fast, for real the first few minutes of this video have no comparison. I've literally never found anything that scratches this specific itch so well

I'm sure everyone would love to see another long books review sounds ASMR video. Can't wait!
I like these videos more than the newer ones. I enjoy hearing the noise from the input volume being cranked up.
I never knew I’d like the sound of her stepping around in high heels but I keep coming back here for it 💕
Same! Heels plus book sounds equals my favourite video ever.
The strength literally goes out of my legs when i listen to Maria's old videos. It sounds more natural than the ones she does now
The part where you're looking for the books is sooo good! It's giving me loads of tingles. I wish you would do a whole video with just that and the sound of walking.

YOU WENT TO HELL?! But you did so many good things in your life
I lovelovelove everything about her!!! her voice, hand movements, gentleness, accent, smile...so tingly and relaxing and lovely!!!
Years later this is still my favorite video. The heels in the beginning, the notebook, shuffling of papers, everything is excellent. Thank you Maria.
Ways to relax and your videos have proven to me that there's others ways instead of using thank you.,
I hope you are still in recovery and thriving!
I just keep coming back to this one. No other ASMR video I've ever watched has given me more chills or relaxed me more than this one.
maria, the sounds of your footsteps in the heels in this video (at the very beginning and when you are off camera looking for the books) are AMAZING please do more of this if the mood strikes I would love it so much!
I was looking for this comment!! I thought it was so nice too!!
I was looking for this comment! The footsteps were soo relaxing

I too don't like eating of any kind asmr videos

InstaBlaster
Yeap true, I personally absolutely cant stand the tapping sounds - one of the most popular asmr triggers.
Well thanks for sharing this worthy advice. Very Inspiring
I used to get asmr and sleepy in class when watching my desk partner look at my library books.
books are my favorite sound/trigger. sitting in the library at school and watching/hearing people handling books, magazines, etc just melted me
I loved watching my desk partner draw with slow, careful hand movements
Watching in 2020 - 7 years ago! Still one of my favs of Maria’s! ❤️
seeing in 2016. lol... the most relaxing voice of youtube ever. sooooo lovely
This is almost 10 years old now and it is still one of my favorite ASMR videos on UA-cam.
Great idea!
She has tons of Russian history, language studies ones and a how to use massage tools one
I suffer from regular flash backs and panic attacks due to anxiety and ptsd and listening to your videos has helped me be able to relax and breathe through an episode. So thank you very much :) xx
I need a remake of this. Still one of my favorites. I love the off camera book searching. 🥴
Please more of the book searching, stacking, sorting sounds with the page manipulation. This is the only video I can find that has them. After listening dozens of times, it still works for me. No immunity.
You circling the continents is what triggers me the most! Those delicate hand gestures 😍
2021 - still coming back to this video. She has an incredible soft voice and mixes her voice and the sounds of the books in a very good way.
I'd love for you to do a video in this style again, the low fidelity audio helps with making the noises soft and crunchy, the roleplay is minimal, the godfather section, especially the enclosure, is soooo tingly and relaxing with all the moving paper. I bought the safari book and the godfather because of this haha

when you looked for the first book, my ears were overwhelmed with joy!
I've come back to this video three nights in a row because I love soft speaking and page turning together, and this video is the absolute best I've ever found. Thank you so much!
I used to play like this when I was little, talking softly and writing. Crazy how it's relaxing
I’ve seen this about 500 times every watch puts me to sleep. Amazing asmr.
I go through phases of what kind of ASMR videos are my favorite. And then I will watch them on repeat through the month and they will give me instant tingles and sleep. Right now I can not get enough of this video and the library video. The sounds are amazing and I like listening to you talk about how the books. Thank you again Maria!
I just realized you're kinda like the mother of the internet
I'm not religious but I'm adamant she's God. Mother of the world.
+Stacey Carlisle sorry this is so random but if thats you in your profile picture youre very pretty x
UGH I HATE USERNAMES It is thankyou! that's a good start to my day :)

I'd say mother of ASMR
The book shuffling sounds in this video is one of my favorite triggers.

+Dani Alexandrov I'm sorry to hear your life is depressing, is there anything I can do to help? maybe write with hou about it??
I hope your life is much better now!
I hope your grammar got better...
I just couldn't get asmr the same as when watching other videos with them making unnatural and noisy sloppy sounds with their mouth. It just sounds too unnatural for me, whereas you find Maria and the asmr is a thousand times better ☺️.

I keep going back to this one - an old favorite that still gives me tingles. Classic ASMR
I love her old videos 😩 I find them more relaxing
2022 and I just love Maria's old videos
This video makes my scalp tingle and goes right down my spine!
Your voice was PERFECTLY created to give me tingles LOL came out creepy but I'm sure everyone agree's haha
Angelic Distortions TOTALLY agree
Angelic Distortions Coming from someone that named their account " Angelic Distortions " LOL
Angelic Distortions you are beautiful.

I think I've listened to the "side-to-side book sounds" portion of this video 200+ times. A whole video of the book sounds would be amazing! Sorting books at the library, sorting paperwork/files, etc. Comatose over here! :)
Love how you whispered the Iast book, would love to see a full library video whispered like this 😁
This is the first time I've gotten tingles from a speaking video. Usually I only watch "silent" ones. This, however, is freaking phenomenal! Love it!!!

This is still so nice.. almost 5 years old. Damn time flies
5 years ago😢
You are one of my favourite ASMR artists :3 Great tingles from this video!
Perfection. Unlike any ASMR video involving books.
I love the way you say "consultant today" in the opening. Your s's and t's are AWESOME.
I always am hesitant to make suggestions, because I always love whatever content Maria happens to put out, but I would really love a video or a series of videos with Maria just... reading. I just love her voice and whenever I try to listen to an audiobook or something, all I can think is, "I wish Maria were reading this!"
this is my favorite video of all times
Just out of curiosity, are your thoughts in russian or english?
usa
Probably Russian since it’s her first language. I seen another video some woman knew multiple langueages but said her thoughts and even her dreams were all in her native language

OMGOMGOMG... I love books. Srsly I have something like a fetish for those sound that paper does, how books smell and so on. Best Video on YT - Srsly!
I'm still watching this after how many years. One of her best.
What a kind, gentle caring person this makes me so relaxed. Much love Maria
Beautiful handwriting.
Oh em gee. All the animals moving at warp speed made me laugh so hard I woke up from my "state of deep relaxation"
Spark Park ah crap! Months later, I see it and now I can't stop laughing! The zebra got me bad! I almost woke up my roomate!
I'm years late but same XD
2020 and still my favorite ❤️
Same here. One of my favorite ASMR videos. I can watch and listen to it every day and it keeps working for me.
Come back to this one frequently. Food for the brain indeed.
I'm not sure why, but I especially love the part when you're tracing the letters in the Word Safari from the book cover.
me to!!! I'm repeating that movement over and over again :D glad to hear I'm not alone in this one haha
Your handwriting is just as beautiful as your voice and your face...I didn't realize this was possible...
Maria looks so gorgeous here. Love her hair and that sweater.
I’d love a 2023-2024 version of this video 🥰🥰🥰
The writing at the beginning of this video is amazing, a video needs to be dedicated to this.
