This video reminds me of when I used to work in a bookstore and every other day, a little old man used to come into the store and sit and read the books, get comfy in a chair and he’s eventually fall asleep. He was a sweet soul. He never bought anything and he was no bother, he just seemed lonely and comforted by the environment ❤️ we used to leave him be and let him do his thing

A school library is where I first had tingles. I was about 14 and could never understand why I'd want to fall asleep at the sound of my class turning pages and I'd get so mad when they stopped. Page turning is my absolute favourite sound still to this day. This video is perfect 👌
Yes, what is it about page turning? I love that sound! I first noticed it in a movie where a woman was sitting on a sofa, turning the pages of a large old scrapbook!

I first discovered my proclivity for tingles at a school library in 2nd grade.. whenever a teacher helped another student read or check out a book I would overhear the quiet conversation and supportive affirmation and help and instantly be soothed and tingle to the point that I'd nearly fall asleep on the spot. Wonderful memories. My most prominent trigger is hearing quiet conversation of someone getting help from an older expert. I know it's quite specific, but I've never had it matched. I knooow ! I worked in a cultural center with a gallery on the first floor and a library on the 2nd and when work was a bit too stressful or overwhelming, going up to the 2nd floor to say hi to my collegues of the library was my favourite thing. The smooth sounds, people talking in a very soft way, the books smell, the atmosphere, I loved everything about it, it was so soothing (and the librarians were the sweetest) ♡

As a librarian myself, I always find it interesting when people do "librarian roleplays." I always want to know how accurate they are to what we really do. This covers the basics pretty well! Plus I love the Queen of ASMR as a librarian. ^^
Oh definitely. One of my friends is a librarian at a well-known university and he said it's a lot more difficult than you'd think, you have to almost be a walking catalogue of what's kept where and on what shelf. Dude looks like he works harder than I do and I work in heavy transport.

I'll never understand how you manage to talk so softly without whispering. I love the lilt in your speech, and how you will get quieter but then enunciate certain parts of your sentence and become more audible without getting louder somehow. One of my favorite things about your videos 💜💜

My mother is a librarian, and she told me a story today, and shes like "can you imagine??? People are like, i need a book... But it doesnt have a title or an author, and im like , well do you not remember the author and title or was it just not there? And the customer said it wasn't there!"
She is! I’ve been a fan for a similar chunk of time finding her back in middle/high school, now am graduated working full time! She still helps me sleep every few nights when I have some bad insomnia.
I always think Maria has a fascinating style, mostly because within my generation and area is like pure streetwear or inspired by different era's, so I love to look at how other people dress and Maria always has like a refined, classy taste. I can't imagine that anyone who knows what ASMR is would dislike this video, so I have to imagine that the people who disliked this video were people looking at library-related videos that were randomly recommended this video, and were really confused about what they were watching. No other explanation! Maria does such an amazing job with all of her videos!
I didn’t like the video. The whispering was like nails down a chalkboard to me. And the hand thing was too weird. I like the keyboard and pencils but couldn’t get past the whispers.🤷🏻♀️ Still trying to figure out why 🤔

People seem to forget that Tom Sawyer was a heavily anti-racism, anti-slavery book - despite it's language. To be fair, she said that the racism was a function of the characters. Well written characters are nuanced and have flaws, not to mention they were representative of their time/location. Doesn’t mean the author was encouraging that line of thinking. Good books should make you think, and they are often controversial.

I work in the quietest library I've ever been inside, but nowhere near this quiet! With the phones ringing every other minute (we can hear then over at circulation, even), it's hard to find it as relaxing as the patrons do.

I first discovered my proclivity for tingles at a school library in 2nd grade.. whenever a teacher helped another student read or check out a book I would overhear the quiet conversation and supportive affirmation and help and instantly be soothed and tingle to the point that I'd nearly fall asleep on the spot. Wonderful memories. My most prominent trigger is hearing quiet conversation of someone getting help from an older expert. I know it's quite specific, but I've never had it matched. I knooow ! I worked in a cultural center with a gallery on the first floor and a library on the 2nd and when work was a bit too stressful or overwhelming, going up to the 2nd floor to say hi to my collegues of the library was my favourite thing. The smooth sounds, people talking in a very soft way, the books smell, the atmosphere, I loved everything about it, it was so soothing (and the librarians were the sweetest) ♡

As a librarian myself, I always find it interesting when people do "librarian roleplays." I always want to know how accurate they are to what we really do. This covers the basics pretty well! Plus I love the Queen of ASMR as a librarian. ^^

I'll never understand how you manage to talk so softly without whispering. I love the lilt in your speech, and how you will get quieter but then enunciate certain parts of your sentence and become more audible without getting louder somehow. One of my favorite things about your videos 💜💜

To be fair, she said that the racism was a function of the characters. Well written characters are nuanced and have flaws, not to mention they were representative of their time/location. Doesn’t mean the author was encouraging that line of thinking. Good books should make you think, and they are often controversial.

I work in the quietest library I've ever been inside, but nowhere near this quiet! With the phones ringing every other minute (we can hear then over at circulation, even), it's hard to find it as relaxing as the patrons do.
