In this video I will try to give you a relaxing haircut that will include page flipping, brushing, foil wrapping, washing, spraying, shampooing, cutting, massaging with some whispering and soft speaking. I like the old vids better sometimes. I don't mind white noise and the slight imperfections. Its even more relaxing. It would be nice if Maria did a Lofi series with old or cheap mics and props.

I agree whole heartedly!! The tingles are better when it's more organic. In real life people make mistakes they aren't edited or filtered. I think that's part of it. I'm not sure why white noise helps but it does for me too!!
I really enjoy her older videos too. Her acting is just so natural and organic, and she doesnt seem too self aware or self contious. I like her newer ones too, but in a different way.

This was one of the first videos that I ever watched when ASMR became a huge thing. I couldn't get over the sound quality of every single, tingly movement. It still gives me tingles over a decade later. I love it.

I used to get tingles as a young child while watching others do things, especially drawing, painting, drawing in the dirt etc. I also love for someone to draw lightly on my back but I'm not sure those tingles are asmr. I can relate to your comment.

Me too. I had a guidance counselor in school that gave me tingles all the time.i got them around kind people who cared for me. I'm still not sure what triggers me, is it the words or the actions. Definitely don't get tingles from those mouth smacking, aggressive tapping and clicking asmr wannabes. Maria seems to trigger me 100%.

Yeah... I believe she is more concerned with silence and sound quality instead of natural sound quality. I get lots more ASMR in some of her older medium to soft spoken videos with haircuts and random tasks.

I never knew this had a name. This has been happening since I was a kid and I've always been drawn to certain sounds in movies because it always caused that strange tickling feeling in the back of my head.

I love when she does role playing videos she really goes all out. She has the foils, the brush, and even hair that she's working on. You can tell she truly enjoys doing this. That's what I love about her channel. And she's EXCELLENT at role playing. Her physical therapist video was absolutely amazing sometimes it honestly felt like she was talking to someone, her responses were so genuine and REAL. Keep it up, Maria. Best AMSR channel out there.
One thing I love about Maria's videos is that they are stuffed with many different types of triggers. There is something for everyone. :)
never really embraced my ASMR before because I thought I was weird for loving videos and parts in film like this but now that I really know about this and that i wasn't weird my 17 years of life so far I watch all of these videos and I love them all, especially when I'm trying to sleep! the tingles really help me fall asleep when before It would take forever! Just last month of October, I had a random panic attack/ anxiety and then I have these worries of short breathes, thinking too much about my breathing, and breathing too big like if I was running out of breath, and then I remembered about the asmr vids and this is absolutely relaxing and kept my mind off my stress, this is really helpful. :D

I still can't believe that this was made 5 years ago... I remember watching this in spring of my sophomore year back in 2013... four years since then have passed by and Maria still stands as my most favorite ASMR artist ever. Her ASMR videos (this one to be exact) are what helped me relax and find comfort during some of the nerve wrecking times I had in sophomore year.

Thank you so much for doing what you do. I never heard of ASMR until today and then I saw an article about your videos, and immediately knew that ASMR is exactly what I have striven to experience in different ways for so many years without knowing why. Years and years of depression and anxiety and the only relief was the somewhat occasional experience of ASMR. I literally cried three separate times while experiencing this because of how absolutely relaxing it was and how peaceful I felt and just knowing there was actually something that could help me sleep, actually having a legitimate thing without just working on years of guesswork.
