- Caleb “C.J.” Whisnand Jr., a 5-week old baby, was found dead in Lowndes County days after he was reported missing in Montgomery. His father, Caleb Michael Whisnand, has been charged with capital murder in his death.

I don't think much families would've offered to take the baby. Babies are expensive. The economy isn't too good right now. People having kids during the covid shutdown are low IQ.

I am old and on a fixed income but I would have taken him as I know my church would step up and help with whatever that baby needed. I've cried all morning..breaks my heart n

@Tan Dem They also indicated that the officers at the conference seemed to know what happened as well. Once spotted you can't miss it. I'm also impressed with the way the police and all the other agencies have worked together.
Yes! The mumbling he was doing, the pretend sadness. When they asked when they realized the child was missing, the mom started to take them he put his hands on her shoulder and mumbled something to her almost as to keep her hushed or to make sure she didn’t say the wrong thing. They also seemed high as a kite.
I love this sheriff for being straight forward and not putting out things until he had information
I agree. I mean, I know the reporters have to ask because that's their job, but don't they realize that if the police release all of the information they have, then all of the friends, relatives, etc. will be aware as well? Why assist the defense, or have the police release all the details so that the father and his counsel can plan exactly how they are going to explain away each thing, or claim he didn't do it

I don't understand why so many people use the word "closure." There is never any closure for someone who has lost a family member, much less an infant! There will always be a hole in the heart of the family!
I'm sure closure in this case refers to the fact officers located Caleb's body and arrested the perpetrator.
I think its more in that there is finally in knowing the facts, closing the mental loop of wondering, not closing the hole in the heart. I would think the not knowing and always wondering and questioning would be more tormenting. I believe that not being able to close the loop is why parts of a song get stuck in the head. if you are able to finish the song its less likely to get stuck. I think that psychological theory is the reason behind "closure"

The parents were for sure NERVOUS and not sad or upset - just very nervous. She fake cried during their plea - and the dads plea didnt make any sense saying he had realized the baby was gone. The mom said she was home with her oldest and he went to pay the gas, and realized the baby was gone? So was she saying the baby was with him, and then disappeared from the truck or car or what
I am pretty gullible too, yet I did NOT believe them. I agree that all they did was act nervous. The mother had fake tears, and she looked at him before answering questions. It was very odd.
I just watched the plea - they both pretended to cry, they persistently looked away from the cameras.... if anything they looked like they were slightly smiling and enjoying the attention. I hope they both get a long term!!

Grandmother said the mother was leaving him. She believes he figure it out. From what i read today. The father took off with the baby. She went to her mother. They called LE , that when he said the said was taken. The LE have video from Circle K.

It's called the absence of Jesus Christ in our lives these days! compare to when the US was a Christian (or at the very least, a God-based society) versus today which is a God-less society...what has changed? the death, suicide, murder, violence, hatred, racist, deception rates have sky-rocketed and the loving, good, kind, moral, giving, pure, truthful, wonderful communities have all plummeted into the ground. Maybe we should begin to look at that data and make changes starting there! I would be VERY careful with your words. We don't know if she was involved. She was not with her boyfriend as far as we know and the police hasn't charged anyone yet. When you say things like this if the family sees this, it could be libelous.
That whole plea from the mother and father was completely fake and very uncomfortable to watch. They had guilty written all over their faces. Nothing nature about that plea. Their movements, the fake crying and the obvious fact that they did nit want to be there.

I personally know the grandparents that live here in Wyoming. Their daughter (the mother) had gotten in a fight with him (the father) and threw him out. Later he went to the gas station and thats when she knew the baby was missing and called the police. I hope the father rots in hell he was on meth when he took the child and killed him. May that baby rest in peace

Only the father was arrested at this point. I'm sure there's a reason and it's possible the mother didn't know. I know she may have seemed off but she just lost her baby that she carried for the last 10 months
As much as I hate to say it, it was pretty obvious the parents knew what happened. That was one of the most guilty press conferences I've ever seen, they could barely string a sentence together, no tears, fake worry, hands over her face, no real concern for their baby - who is good knows where, couldn't remember last time they saw him and no photos! Who doesn't have a million photos of their new baby. I have a new puppy and my photos are all of the dog!

I’m here because I just watched the news conference and thought the parents seemed off and GUILTY. Went to look around for more info and found this. Sad to say I knew it. Dads body language and that he was on methamphetamines during the press conference told me everything. How the hell did they have to look at each other and double check when the last time they saw the baby was?
I never saw the sadness in these parents if anything you can tell they wanted no part of the press conference the dad especially and I am almost 100% sure the mom knows what happened

It was obvious from the half-hearted press conference the parents gave that something other than "kidnapping" was amiss.
The mother couldn't fake a single teardrop, and the father was quick to distance himself, by repeatedly stating that he "didn't remember much" (despite not being asked any questions that I could hear).
If they truly are guilty (as it seems), may justice be swift and harsh for them both!

Police departments want to put them in front of the cameras to assess their culpability. In most cases it works - just by their body language.
It was pretty clear from the news conference that something was amiss with the father, all that “I don’t remember” stuff he kept coming out with. I’m not sure about the mother, she seemed to be nervous and her crying seemed put on. With a newborn baby I do wonder if she could’ve had postpartum depression though and if anything will come out about that.

it truly is easy for a loving, sober minded parent. For a anger fueled meth head it is a whole different story. Its apparent to me that the mother not only suffered from a drug addiction but she was also a victim of abuse by the male. A tragic story with an even more tragic ending.

All the men in my family are in law enforcement and I can tell you 100% that it would compromise their investigation, but I’m sure that they care about this baby and getting everything done correctly. The guy, Caleb Sr. was the nastiest thing I have seen on film for a long time. His body language, towards the mother, who looked terrified, was classic narcissistic abuser and he was physically controlling her with his hands throughout the whole 'appeal'. I must say that the detective with the parents during the televised appeal was also a classic. The grief on his face was obvious in contrast to the fathers, which was only concerned with himself, not the child, and the detective blanking the fathers appeals to finish the press questions was the best example of "We know what you have done, and I personally am going to leave you to roast as long as possible" was masterly and deserved. The Deputy deserved a medal and the father all he gets. I hear this kind of thing isnt tolerated in prison. Good! Also may that innocent little one rest in peace, he didnt deserve to be born to that monsters punchingbag.
It’s crazy cause it’s so easy to see too. Every time she looked at him it was like she’s was petrified that she’d say the wrong thing. She kept looking at him for his approval. And then his hands and the way he was grabbing her by the shoulders and then the neck and even the back of her head was creepy. Everything about it was so wrong

Watching that painstaking news conference the father was speaking at, anyone with half a brain cell knew he had something to do with the kid being "missing".

I really admire the professionalism of the officers involved in this and similar cases. I can't think of actually dealing with someone who had murdered a baby without being overcome with rage and doing something to put them out of our collective misery. I hope the killer has an absolutely miserable life.
