Old but I gotta comment anyway for people just stumbling across this... you need to lift the tip of the bar before you adjust the chain. Otherwise while sawing the bar might move from pressure and really overtighten the chain. I've seen it happen to a few people where it was basically in a 'siezed' state until they let the tension out of the chain.
I have a brand new EC-620PW and the chain is so tight I can’t fit it on…chain came with the saw but seems to be too small but it’s. 24” and a 24” bar. Can’t find any other reference of this happening to anyone else…what could it be?

Supposed to hold the bar up pinching it between you fingers as you tighten. Or the chain will get loose.
You need to position the camera so we can see the chain saw mechanism instead of your back.
Thanks .man yup gotcha
Annoyingly there is no slack in the chain and I can't get it on the bar.
Standing in front of the machine that he is working on so you cannot see what he is describing!
You can hear it if the chain stops that fast it's too tight or your out of bar oil
Too tight.
That's too tight
