In order to be properly fitted for a bra, you're not supposed to be wearing a bra. That can alter the shape and size of your breasts, especially if its an ill-fitted bra, which results in discrepancies of what your actual measurements are.
I get measured while wearing a bra so often, most of the time I go while in my sports bra, I am a 40-44 D, and when I am measured with my bra on I get measured at a C. I have to ask to be measured without a bra, but some stores do not offer that. And sometimes it isn't just being fitted, I've had an issue where some D-cups are smaller than a C-cup and it confuses me so much when I've gone to certain stores as such Macy's or Forever 21, even Target or Walmart the D-cups can sometimes be too small for me and I may have to find a DD or even higher, in some stores a D-cup is too big. It confuses me so much!
What's the point? Like getting measured for shoe size whilst wearing shoes 😂 I appreciate that some women may be uncomfortable or insecure in that intimate situation, but surely its worth it for the sake of getting a comfortable and correct bra for your body!

They never had a fitting one. The moment you have one you realize why (if a bra fits!!) you seriously don't want to take it off (if you have a cup size that is bigger than countable on one hand).

Before having my son, I was a 38B. It didn't seem that unusual to me, but there was nothing out on the floor at Victoria's Secret in that size and when I asked the salesperson, they directed me to a drawer with like 4 ugly bras. These days I just wear nursing bras that are sized like shirts in terms of S/M/L/XL, etc. Even though I haven't breastfed in over a year, it's much easier for me to just take the 2X than to look for whatever non-existent cup size I am.
I wish they talked about sister sizes a little bit when they asked if anyone had a different size in mind. Like when Amanda mentioned she thought she was a DD one of her sister sizes is actually a 36DD meaning the cup (DD) would hold the same capacity as the 30G but the band would be too big for her. Yeah also doesn’t really make sense why first and second place were the places they were. The girl in first was a 31I, which is about the same cup size as a 42D, meaning that the girl in second does have a larger chest. But as such the misunderstanding that cup size determines how big your chest is continues 😔
Much of my upper and mid back pain went away when I finally learned about real bra sizing. And, as someone who has purchased G,H, and I sizes, it's definitely frustrating that you have to go to specialty stores or online to find the size you need. I do pay a lot for bras now, but I try to take care of them and make them last. It is worth it for my long-term health.
as a small chested gal, it was really disappointing to see no AA or A cups. having only 1 participant under an C cup is pretty poor "representation". i normally don't waste my time complaining on random YT videos, but we already have a hard enough time shopping for bras, finding clothes that fit properly + deal with not feeling (or being told we aren't) feminine enough compared to even B cup gals. seeing the "smallest" breast size represented here being a B cup was honestly pretty shitty feeling, ngl. Big chested ladies already have a lot of representation in the media thats why its the beauty standard, and that's breast implants are one of the most popular surgeries. I was just telling my friends today that it is an actual for really reals crime for clothing companies to label bra sizes as XS-XL and so on. Each person is so wildly different, from underbust to overbust, body size, breast size, and a lot of breasts aren't even the same size as one another lmao it is beyond ridiculous, and then add that to the fact that most stores with lower prices or easy accessibility won't carry the sizes that most people need.
As someone who is a 34G and actively always looking for something that will fit my rib cage and boobs... a lot of companies now have a curvy size. American eagle, and Abercrombie off the top of my head. So I can get their curvy size Medium and it works! But yes I've never seen them in stores. Always online. And there's so much more that goes into it like you said. Some aren't the same size.

That is crazy that the average is 34DD because it's a stress to even find a D size in most stores. It's part of the reason I stopped wearing bras. It was always so hard to find my size and to find somethung cute in my size without spending an arm and a leg.

As a guy, I've never understood this omnipresent obsession with HUGE boobs between guys. Like, if it is up to them, they'd like boobs be human-sized on a woman. It's actually so crazy. DD is the same as E, DDD is the same as F. It's just that many commercial bra stores don't offer larger cup sizes and so they don't bother with proper names. Similar to how plus size stores will typically be numbered sizes whereas commercial stores will just keep on adding x to their sizes like xl, xxl, and xxxl.

I was just telling my friends today that it is an actual for really reals crime for clothing companies to label bra sizes as XS-XL and so on. Each person is so wildly different, from underbust to overbust, body size, breast size, and a lot of breasts aren't even the same size as one another lmao it is beyond ridiculous, and then add that to the fact that most stores with lower prices or easy accessibility won't carry the sizes that most people need.
As someone who is a 34G and actively always looking for something that will fit my rib cage and boobs... a lot of companies now have a curvy size. American eagle, and Abercrombie off the top of my head. So I can get their curvy size Medium and it works! But yes I've never seen them in stores. Always online. And there's so much more that goes into it like you said. Some aren't the same size.

That is crazy that the average is 34DD because it's a stress to even find a D size in most stores. It's part of the reason I stopped wearing bras. It was always so hard to find my size and to find somethung cute in my size without spending an arm and a leg.
I'm actually a 34DD and I thought it wasn't that common but turns out that it sells fast because most people has that size (I go shopping to USA often)

Last time I got measured for a bra, she was so certain after measuring me that I needed a B cup. We tried on many bras and quickly realized I actually needed a DD cup.
Honestly tho it js shows how different everyone is when they talked about when they started developing it was like ages 8-17 which honestly as a teen Latina I always get insecure but then I have to remind myself some people don't even develop until 17 - 20

As a guy, I've never understood this omnipresent obsession with HUGE boobs between guys. Like, if it is up to them, they'd like boobs be human-sized on a woman. It's actually so crazy. It feels so cavemen-like to me.

I just think the size and shape of boobs are such an important part that shape the women's body as a whole. I prefer the synergy between body and boobs, if that makes sense. Ya I’m confused cause I’ve never heard of those bigger than DD
DD is the same as E, DDD is the same as F. It's just that many commercial bra stores don't offer larger cup sizes and so they don't bother with proper names. Similar to how plus size stores will typically be numbered sizes whereas commercial stores will just keep on adding x to their sizes like xl, xxl, and xxxl.
