Her look is very neutral, not really trying to be all that fancy and I can appreciate that. A solid neutral is better than overdoing something to the point of it being a negative. It's like how a person without makeup can look better than a person with makeup on grounds of what the individual finds "too much" makeup to be. That and she didn't really advocate for herself or jump in to show off her personality. She's definitely the most introverted of the group and it makes her impression lesser because of it.

Also Jennifer would probably rate higher had she also put on makeup or styled her hair etc. in a different way (be more visually interesting). Cause physically Ajanea isn’t necessarily more conventionally attractive than her.

In my experience, making guy friends around my age (early 20s) was easier. Most of my girl friends are either much older than me (have families) or are graduates from university. My heart aches for Jennifer, she reminds me so much of myself because I lack self-esteem and was always the last choice or was never acknowledged by girls like these. If my husband had me in a line up and called me "simple", I'd be very embarrassed and hurt. Most importantly, then saying #1 was not their type had me feeling some type of way as well. Societal beauty standards is 100% what played into this.

I was looking for a comment like this because all of the guys immediately went to "not my type" which typically translates to "I don't find black women physically attractive." I think the personality judging is honestly absurd. You can't judge by personality someone you have just met also it isn't really about personality but how extroverted you are. I think lot of people are so upset watching this because it's a visceral reminder of being rejected by other women, made to feel smaller and less than, instantly judged and othered based on shallow, surface-level assumptions that you can't do anything about. Those subtle gestures that sink a deep imprint. The way Jennifer was instantly excluded, ignored and had her feelings disregarded, will be reminiscent for so many people of how they were treated. And it's disheartening to see that it happens past high school. But the other girls were younger, and hopefully they will grow out of that.
It was hard to watch Vera, Sky and Sophia move themselves down and then just stop at 4th place without even looking at Jennifer or saying a word to her.. As if it were so obvious that Jennifer should be at the bottom. There was very little thought for how she might feel about that.

I felt Jennifer was very "othered" by the girls. When they would scooch themselves down, they would only go to the 4th spot almost as if to say "Nah she can stay at the bottom."
