You videos are so helpful! Thank you for sharing! :) Where did you the the black wick setter you used, I need one for an 8 oz jar similar to that one. Thanks!
You are very welcome. I get my wick setters off of Etsy... just look up wick setters and put the size jar you are looking to fit. Hope that works for ya 👍
Hello! Happy New Year 🎉. I’m brand new to your page. Have you ever tried a coconut apricot wax? I’m wondering if you could share the pros and cons of each.
Hello. You mentioned to not let the pouring temperature get below 145 degrees F , but what do you do if it does get below accidentally? Just place back on burner? Thank you!
Hello new subscriber here I loved this video so informative and easy to follow. One question for you I been looking at Candle Science Coconut soy wax but it only comes in flake form. Where are you getting your solid form from. Thanks keep the videos coming. Much success to you.
So helpful ❤ I’m currently testing C6 with Eco Stabilo wicks, I’m in Europe and we don’t have CD wicks in any of the sites I can shop from 😕 I heard that they are the same thing, do you have any info on that?
Thanks for your lovely comment. 💗🌸So glad you found my content helpful. I currently don’t have info on Eco S. Wicks, but will certainly look into them. Please Let me know how they perform for you.
@@wilcandles Will definitely update you as soon as I have more info 😍 So far with the containers I was using which were 2.95 inches and 3.15 inches, even Stabilo 16 couldn’t manage…I haven’t got any Stabilo 18 right now to try. So then I tried double wick with Eco 2 (just Eco, the ones you have) and they burned too hot. Next I tried double wick with Stabilo 3, wasn’t patient and tested the candles in 3 days 😅seemed ok, even a bit hot. I made a few new full testers with the double Stabilo 3 and waited a full week just to get fully surprised with the fact that they are too small now, when I tested the candles 😅😅😅 Did an autopsy and removed the 3, added double Stabilo 4 and they are just about right…Need to try Stabilo 5 now…Unfortunately the supplier here has only Eco 2, 4 and 6…so I can’t try bigger Ecos…Tried LX double 8 and double 10, just for the experiment, but they were too small and burn much lighter than the Eco and Stabilo…will keep trying and will let you know if something works fine 😍😍😍
Hello, new Subscriber, I am in the same situation as Val, I am in Europe and here we don't have CD wicks I am doing my searches to see which's the best for C6 , Ill share if I find it :) wick Stabilo has to be double :/ another wise does not manage in C6.
The heating and pouring temp are going to be different, as well as the amount of fragrance to add. I suggest that you check with your wax supplier for that information. Let me know what you come up with.
I only do a continuous stir when making 1-2 candles. Wax stays hotter longer when there is more wax, so it has more time to bind and constant stirring is not nec. My stirring intervals over the 6-8 mins, prob. add up to the two minutes. Hope that answers your question.💗
CD 12 did not give me a good melt pool. Candle Science also recommends CD 14 for Coconut Soy Wax, for that size jar which is the medium straight jar from Candle Science.
When I began my candle making journey, I started with C6 and C3. However, I switched to luxury waxes because I was told they burn cleaner and have a better HT. I was going thru some boxes and found some C3 flakes and made candles. The CT is great. I’ll let cure 2 weeks to test HT. If all goes well, I might buy C3 to use as a backup. People complain about C3 & C6 tops, but there’s a way to remedy this. It’s all about pouring temp.
Great explanation in simple terms and no excessive talk. Thank You!

I have EC26 wax from Northwoods . Is this wax the same blend?
No it is not the same, the EC26 Wax's blend contains paraffin wax and the Coconut Soy Wax from the Flaming Candle does not.
Great video. Where did you get your wicking tool?
EZ Wicker...from Candlescience.com

Happy New Year and welcome to my channel. I have not, but am certainly willing to give it a try and perhaps do a video on it.

You can reheat… even with fragrance added. Just do not go over the temp that you added your fragrance at. 👍🏼

Where did you get your wick sitting?
Candlescience

Does this candle smell like coconut if you don't add the fragrance oil to it?
Good Question. The answer is no. The wax has no smell at all. ❤
Hi there. I'm currently using 454 from candle science. Which company do you get your wax!?
Hello. I get my wax from The Flaming Candle
How is your experience with that wax?
What percentage of fragrance did you use ?
6%… but in several of my candles, I use up to 10%
New Subscriber will you do a video where you add candle dye please.
Oh yes... it's on my agenda for videos.

Hello and thank you… I’m very curious to know what you come up with. 👍🏼❤️
Would you consider this method for 454 coconut soy wax?
The heating and pouring temp are going to be different, as well as the amount of fragrance to add. I suggest that you check with your wax supplier for that information. Let me know what you come up with.
Did you use only coconut wax or was it a blend?
It is a coconut soy wax blend.
after each burn are your tops still smooth
No... hardly ever. Crater tops after burning are a common characteristic of coconut soy wax. So you are good, if you see that!
@@wilcandles thank you so much
@@tamiyoung2036 You are very welcome. You ask great questions 👍🏼❤️
May i ask why you don't mix for 2 mins straight as what other candle makers do?
I only do a continuous stir when making 1-2 candles. Wax stays hotter longer when there is more wax, so it has more time to bind and constant stirring is not nec. My stirring intervals over the 6-8 mins, prob. add up to the two minutes. Hope that answers your question.💗
CD14 isn’t to hot for that jar? Because I tested cd12 & it was definitely too hot.
Are you trimming the wick down to 1/4’ before burning ?
CD 12 did not give me a good melt pool. Candle Science also recommends CD 14 for Coconut Soy Wax, for that size jar which is the medium straight jar from Candle Science.
@@wilcandles okay thanks… I’ll test again.

Wouldn’t that’s be just over 6 oz? Not 8?
Can you give me a bit more detail of which part you are talking about
Are you using coconut soy wax from flaming candle? Why not candle science?
I have tried others and the flaming candle wax has worked better for me.
Thank you so much 🙏🏾@@wilcandles
