Sadly, although we already have several willing buyers, at the full asking price, it was subsequently found that the property has some issues with the papers, which will take an undetermined time to fix (if possible). But in general, you can gain residency in Montenegro with a minimum ownership of 50% of a residential property.

It depends on the planning. I would assume in that type of location, that you could. But I’d say that there’s more value in an internal reconstruction and having a cherished stone house. They’re becoming rarer and rarer.

You’re right. It’s currently not available for sale due to a legal issue. But it was for sale at €100k and of course we had a buyer for it immediately. Sadly this fell through when the lawyers took a deeper look at the title and realised there was an issue.
