Kiawe Roots | The Best Restaurant on Kauai

We dined all over the island on our last trip, trying both new places and our old favorites.
Only one restaurant impressed us completely across the board. We loved the warm service, delicious food and creative cocktail menu. There was even a Rainbow spread across the restaurant when we arrived. That has to be a sign, right??
Originally a food truck called Roots in Culture, this is the second brick and mortar location for the family operated restaurant, that sits in a building that adjoins a gas station in Lawai. To be honest, it is nothing fancy from the outside. But wait until you sit down!
Don’t miss the Jawaiian Jerk Pork Ribs or Dad’s Fried Chicken, two standouts on their large menu. Because all of their food is made fresh, there are options for gluten-free patrons, as well as those with dietary restrictions.
If you are a craft cocktail lover, also check out their amazing selection of crafted cocktails.  the smoky pull my come up with a bubble that you pop was incredibly flavorful and their spicy margarita was the best margarita I’ve ever had. Kiawe Roots takes southern smoked barbecue to another level with a nod to Asian and Latin flavors, reflecting the heritage of the owners.
They are open for brunch as well as dinner.
