Kiawe Roots | The Best Restaurant on Kauai
We dined all over the island on our last trip, trying both new places and our old favorites.
Only one restaurant impressed us completely across the board. We loved the warm service, delicious food and creative cocktail menu. There was even a Rainbow spread across the restaurant when we arrived. That has to be a sign, right??
Originally a food truck called Roots in Culture, this is the second brick and mortar location for the family operated restaurant, that sits in a building that adjoins a gas station in Lawai. To be honest, it is nothing fancy from the outside. But wait until you sit down!
Don’t miss the Jawaiian Jerk Pork Ribs or Dad’s Fried Chicken, two standouts on their large menu. Because all of their food is made fresh, there are options for gluten-free patrons, as well as those with dietary restrictions.
If you are a craft cocktail lover, also check out their amazing selection of crafted cocktails.  the smoky pull my come up with a bubble that you pop was incredibly flavorful and their spicy margarita was the best margarita I’ve ever had. Kiawe Roots takes southern smoked barbecue to another level with a nod to Asian and Latin flavors, reflecting the heritage of the owners.
They are open for brunch as well as dinner.

Their show is quite dramatic and spectacular at the start. I wasn't expecting that and was pleasantly surprised. During the day, their garden is also a small paradise to wander around in.

I like how natural this garden looks. Although I have challenges walking (I tire very quickly and easily), I am still tempted to visit THIS garden. Was there another garden that you visited that you'd recommend? We prefer natural vs. formally landscaped. We'll be staying not he South end for 2 weeks in December.
We really want to do this on our next trip. But, looking at the map, it appears as though almost HALF of the float is in tunnels? I didn't know that.
Just got back from Kauai and we went to the Smith's family Luau. It was amazing. The entire crew from the hosts, staff, and the dancers was amazing. We are already planning a return trip for next year.

No, it’s a variety show. There are lots of acts that are different. It really is incredible and should be a must do in Vegas. It’s called Absinthe.

It was! We spent the day there, and it was such a good time!
Excellent height on that toe touch, again you got the height but you need to try and just land. Remember feet together, smile, and land straight. Try to work on that twist and be straighter. Other than that great job! (If you don't get it it's a cheer thing.)

They make the soufflé to order, so it is still warm. Texture is like a really airy, fluffy pancake with a sweet strawberry sauce that was super creamy.

Where is this?
About an hour north east of Las Vegas. But if you want to have fun, you can rent a slingshot and take the more scenic route through Lake Mead. It’s gorgeous!!
I’ve twirled for a long time, even twirled fire batons, but I have NEVER seen someone put it on their feet!
