I recommend watching this movie. The movie is really close to watching a Miyazaki film. The heart put on to this movie, the animation, and pretty much everything is gorgeous. My only problem with this movie is why nobody ever wondered Ichirouhiko looked EXACTLY like a human :P
Thats why he was always wearing this weird thing on his head making him look like he's an animal. I think there are some "questions" of this kind, but, you know. :)
I knew from the begining I was like oh wow he is a human But when the movie didnt explain it i just forgot about it. Didn't know it would be important for the final movie
+Aj Koorstra Don't agree. Grandia, NieR, Drakengard, Shadow Hearts, Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon, YS, Resonance of Fate, Star Ocean 1, 2, 3, Zelda, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Baiten Katos, Pokemon, Virtues Last Reward, Lunar, Valkyria Chronicles, Ni No Kuni, Tales of(some of the new ones are meh though), Souls, Folklore, Eternal Sonata, Tears to Tiara II. There are way way way more good games i just can't remember more and the ones i do remember are too old to be relevant right now. Western RPG's Mass effect, the witcher, elder scrolls, fallout, fable, lost odyssey,
Ummmm Chris, you didn't use the actual Digimon the Movie poster. Someone put other characters on it as some sort of joke (I see Bowser, the Staypuft Man and the cast of Pokemon)
I loved this movie. All of Hosada's orignal work is a reflection on his life. Summer Wars was about marriage - his introduction to his wifes family : wolf children - about him being a parent and also the sacrifices of being a mother : and now The boy and the beast - about letting go of your expectations as a father, understanding that as a parent you are also a teacher. The fantastical elements of this movie are nothing more than set pieces for a much more human story. Both this movie and wolf children made me cry.
+Dieter Hoeller And then in April "The Jungle Book" releases and in July "The Secret Life of Pets" comes out. Its an amazing year for movies that furries will like :3 Also if you haven't watched Zootopia yet, it's sooooo good!
I just finished watching this movie about an hour ago a friend Of mine told me about it yesterday and throughout the whole movie I just couldn't take eyes away everything about this movie is so awesome and touching I literally almost cried this whole movie is just amazing from the characters to the animation to the story behind this movie is just amazing I just have to own this movie asap
This anime has so much more in it then you expect it to have , I thought that it would be about just the training and the power as the main theme but was pleasantly surprised after watching it . Would honestly Recommend it to everyone
They say Mamoru Hosoda is the new Hayao Miyazaki, I love all his works, they have kept on getting better and better each year. The Boy and The Beast was just an amazing movie to watch, though my most favorite movie from him hands down, will always be Summer Wars. I loved that movie.
I've been wanting to get back into Anime for a while now bu never really did... This might be a perfect point :) I love that you don't just review Hollywood, Chris. The Anime Reviews are great! Thanks for everything you do!
I would probably give the movie a B+. I really like the sequences where the Beast and the Boy interacted with each other. But the movie started to drag when the boy started to go to school and meet the girl and such. I understand why it is there but it could've been handled better. I also don't like how only Humans are the ones that have the darkness within them. It would've been cool if the beasts discovered that their society is not that much different than humans, and that actually everyone has the darkness inside them. But whatever. It was a great movie.
Thank you Chris without your videos without you I never would have found this movie or Mamoru hosoda other films. More of these animated films are needed
It's funny because back in December 2014, Chris actually posted a tweet saying that he was going to review it. It's a shame he never got around to it: twitter.com/chris_stuckmann/status/542794983636750336
Agreed, He always become my source of good movie titles and I also need him to recommend anime titles. I love animes but every 10 anime only around 2 that is really good. All the other become so heavy on fan service and filler that it just fell flat. Really hard to get a good titles these days.
I'm so glad you reviewed this film! And I agree with everything you said, specifically about the heavy amount of exposition that side characters drop throughout the film. There were more than a few scenes where I thought it was unnecessary for them to explain to us how Kyuuta and Kumatetsu were feeling. We can see and FEEL what they're thinking--we don't need it told to us!
Summer Wars is simply phenominal! It's genius and heartwarming and SOOOO much more dramatic than what I thought was going to be :o If you loved Boy and The Beast, then pleeeease go see this movie!
Hosoda is my favorite anime director at the moment. Wolf Children blew me away stylistically and writing. He's very into folded layers of emotion. Lovely animation, bright colors - wonderful. I love how Ren and Kumatetsu chase each other around when they argue. haha
Chris's best movies of the year so far A+ Deadpool A. The Boy and the Beast, Zootopia A- The Witch, Only Yesterday, Kung Fu Panda 3 4 animations, a comedy, and a horror
Man, his style is so recognizable. As soon as I saw the picture in your thumbnail I was like "Wait, that looks similar to Wolf Children..." And indeed, here it is! I need to watch this movie asap, sadly I think it's gonna take a while to get dubbed in LatAm...whatever, I'll just watch it subbed when it comes out.
I watched The Boy and the Beast with my gf before we went to see Back to the Future in Concert last Friday. The movie was subtitled, but the theater didn't know it was going to be cropped out, so after some complaints, they adjusted the screen 10 minutes into it while it was playing. We got re-admit pass for the goof up. Totally using it for BvS :)
I have been waiting for this for so long, still cant find a place to watch it but good to hear that you enjoyed it, expectations have been raised even higher
In my top 5 anime movies ever. I can't Choose in my top 5 movies: Akira, ghost in the shell, princess mononoke, boy and the beast, sword of a stranger. Thank you for your reviews.
I went and saw Boy and the Beast last night on your recommendation. Loved it! Totally worth the cost. It was a good mix of coming of age and storytelling with a message.
I'm so happy you're wearing A Spirited Away shirt. I love Shinkai, Miyazaki, Hosoda and Kon as directors. I love their work. I give them so much respect with their work.
Just got back from this movie... And It was amazing! With out a doubt my second favorite from the great animator Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children is still my favorite). The music, the art, the story, the characters the whole thing was amazing! I also agree with your point about more animation like this... Shame we don't get more hand drawn stuff as it looks so amazing!
+Hunter Lee I agree with gursimar though, I was a bit underwhelmed when I saw the movie... The mangas are one of the most awesome things I've ever read.
João Passos I too, agree with him though. The film is still great. Also, the film doesn't cover as much, because it was made before they even finished the manga's. I think they're both amazing in their own ways.
While I really enjoyed this movie, I had a lot of issues with it too. There were a lot of things that I feel should've been fleshed out more, I feel like it should've added maybe another 15-20 minutes for this and that would've been fine.
I was sad, but I thought it was a very good ending. I liked how they didn't force the romance between the MC and the girl (can't remember names), it all felt very natural
Hey Chris, I really enjoy the playlist where you dig deep and analyze ambiguous movies like Enemy, Prometheus, and Signs. It'd be great if you could do those more often. An in-depth analysis of The Shining would be great.
Love your Spirited Away shirt Chris! I have The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, great movie, and I've still been meaning to see Wolf Children, I was curious what this one was about, thanks for the great review! Now on to your Only Yesterday review, have seen or own all the Ghibli films except Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves, which I would absolutely love to get to see someday, really wish they would have been dubbed too! :(
I noticed people didn't like the second half so much, but i thought it went with the complexity of adulthood when compared to the simplicity of the first half. We get to see the evolution of a son and fatherhood. The son wants to mimic the dad, and eventually wants to be independent, but sometimes our decisions can be overwhelming, and we realize there's no shame in coming back to our parents for guidance. I guess if there's any problem, I have a hard time understanding the antagonist's dillemma. I guess he's kyuta if he let his choices and identity crises get the best of him? I also think the moby dick symbolism is a little too on the nose.
+Son Of Montreal Cinema is fucking expensive man, especially now that I'm not a student anymore and can't benefit from the Student discount, I took my sis to go see Deadpool, bought drinks and pop corn, then a Doner after the movie and it ruined me. Now imagine going 3-4 times a months. Fuck that, I'm all in for going like 10 times a years and downloading the rest.
Glad you're having a good month with animation so far, hopefully you check out Anomalisa soon!!! It's my favorite animated film of all time! I've seen it 4 times in theaters now.
I'm a huge fan of Mamoru Hosoda's work. Wolf Children and Summer Wars are both in my top 10 favourite animated films of all time (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is pretty great too), so naturally, I'm pumped for this film and judging by your review, Chris, I'm probably going to love it! I really think Hosoda has a chance at being the next Miyazaki.
"The Next Miyazaki" is such a cheap expression. There will never be another Miyazaki, and it's actually kind of insulting to imply that it's that easy to replace his influence. Mamoru Hosoda is a fantastic filmmaker who has made many classics already, but his style is completely different. He is not and never will be "the next Miyazaki." He's an entirely separate and unique person with his own thematic style and goals as a filmmaker. But that's okay. I get the sentiment, but I don't like what it implies.
I just watched it and I have to say it was solid, but it didn't meet my high expectations. Kumatetsu and Ren's bond could have used some more heartwarming moments. They never hugged, Ren never thanked him, nor did he say he thought of Kumatetsu as a second father. For me, Ren seemed closer with the girl he met than with Kumatetsu. Meh
Not every relationship has to be solidified by a hug. And one of the premises of good screenwriting is Show, Don't Tell. And, honestly, would the inclusion of those moments really influence your overall experience with the film? I personally think they would instead retract from the experience. But, at the end of the day, these are only diferent opinions. I absolutely love The Boy and the Beast, I think it will become a classic in time.
I didn't even know that this was a movie until today, and when I saw your review I immediately looked to see if there was a showing near me because I LOVE Mamoru Hosoda's work! He's like a modern day Miazaki! Anyway, I saw the movie today and I loved it! It was my first time watching a Japanese animation film in theaters, and it was so awesome!! I highly recommend this movie!
+mariokarter13 The moby dick reference was pretty clear. The whale being a mirror for Ahab, Ichirohiko doing the same for Kyuta. Ichirohiko presents the idealized version of what Kyuta has always wanted, a nuclear family.
+mariokarter13 the book reference was started in act 2, and what way to dominate your opponent than by being something familiar. Plus it is anime things can't get crazy from one frame to the next
My sister got this movie, and I did not watch alot of animated Japanese stuff back then, so I didn't know what to expect. When I saw it just chilling with my sister, wow. This is totally a masterpiece and watchable.
absolutely agree on your review; an almost mindblowingly beautiful anime with painstakingly hand-drawn detailed backgrounds, deep characters, GREAT story, love the Japanese voice-acting, love how the relationships evolve in this movie... I really REEALLY liked what Hosoda did with the theme of fatherhood and how you take bits from everyone who cares about you to fully become who you are only thing i disagree with you on is the grade you gave it. I'd have gone for A++. Quality animation of this grade is rare! love your reviews
I come from thr far off future of 2021 after seeing the Belle trailer, and man have the last few years taken their toll on this guy. Chris, your voice has def changed. (Totally gonna watch the Boy and the Beast with my wife one of these nights)
totally agree with you man, its time for this and more adult-style animation to finally break into the mainstream. powerful stories can be told, and often should be told through animation.
I wanted to see it again right after I finished it too, if it wasn't for the fact that the theater I had to go to in order to see it had expensive parking I would have. Only 3 theaters are playing it in my state and the closest one was 39 miles away in a place I had never been. The parking caught me off guard. It was $8 for 3-4 hours. This is one of my favorite films after seeing it.
Danil Kornovan And yet nobody ever notices how furless he is. Do people think of him like a fully grown premature boar fetus?
I knew from the begining
I was like oh wow he is a human
But when the movie didnt explain it
i just forgot about it.
Didn't know it would be important for the final movie
Miyazaki never truly retires.
i hope so
1 year later 😂
@@haydarmuhssin4198🥶
From the director of Summer Wars, Girl Who Lept Through Time, and Wolf Children. Yeah, this film will be pretty fucking awesome
I love how you actually review the Japanese animated movies that get released most other reviewers never even mention them much less review them.
Japanese cartoon movies > American cartoon movies
British cartoons are the best! Shaun the Sheep is a fucking masterpiece. Just kidding I love all three for the most part.
yeah but Western RPGs > Japanese RPGs
+Ishan K. Balaji And Disney/Pixar and DreamWorks movies.
tbh lol not even trying to be a weeb
Western RPG's
Mass effect, the witcher, elder scrolls, fallout, fable, lost odyssey,
the Japanese are amazing at animating
they're perfect at everything....there's so much we can learn from them
Yuvi Singh besides their game shows
And ability to metabolise alcohol.
what they arent amazing tell me that
Fortnite
Ummmm Chris, you didn't use the actual Digimon the Movie poster. Someone put other characters on it as some sort of joke (I see Bowser, the Staypuft Man and the cast of Pokemon)
+Scott Sandler Tigger and Winnie the Pooh are Digimon? Duuuude I'm dying right now haha
....so?
+Scott Sandler
Ha. I didn't even notice. I just saw the digi-destined and vedramon and my brain was like yep checks out.
+Mahogany Guy 1869 same. then I caught a glimpse of boba fett
Had no idea that Bowser, C3P0, R2D2, Brock, Boba Fett, and Mew were all Digimon. Huh, the more you know I guess.
Please review _The Girl Who Lept Through Time_!

Zootopia and now this... Furries must have a great time lately....
+Dieter Hoeller And then in April "The Jungle Book" releases and in July "The Secret Life of Pets" comes out. Its an amazing year for movies that furries will like :3
Also if you haven't watched Zootopia yet, it's sooooo good!
Ok - I'm finding myself in a conversation I really don't want to be....
I mean just look at that bunny!!!!! Uuughdhdidojhhhbhh. Lol
Tito wukong Why would I do that?
Dieter Hoeller 😂😂😂Wtf
I just finished watching this movie about an hour ago a friend Of mine told me about it yesterday and throughout the whole movie I just couldn't take eyes away everything about this movie is so awesome and touching I literally almost cried this whole movie is just amazing from the characters to the animation to the story behind this movie is just amazing I just have to own this movie asap
Can you review "The Girl Who Leaped Through Time"?
lol I watched that movie and "Wolf Children: Rain and Snow" in preparation of watching this.
+Alu Aluu Short review, it's amazing, go watch it. That's what you need to know. :)
This movie is gonna be kept in my heart even after death. I'm gonna cherish it. A+ for me.
Saw this last night. Amazing film. Love the folklore and storytelling
This anime has so much more in it then you expect it to have , I thought that it would be about just the training and the power as the main theme but was pleasantly surprised after watching it . Would honestly Recommend it to everyone

Summer Wars is one of the biggest hidden GEMS of Japanese animation films I swear ❤️ it is a mas-ter-piece !
I've been wanting to get back into Anime for a while now bu never really did... This might be a perfect point :) I love that you don't just review Hollywood, Chris. The Anime Reviews are great! Thanks for everything you do!
*****
Okay, thanks :)
Watch a series currently ongoing called "Boku dake ga inai Machi" aka "Erased." It's absolutely outstanding.
+Carcrafter7 Watch it right now, man!
I would probably give the movie a B+. I really like the sequences where the Beast and the Boy interacted with each other. It would've been cool if the beasts discovered that their society is not that much different than humans, and that actually everyone has the darkness inside them. But whatever. It was a great movie.
I suppose the idea is that because the beasts are yokai, they inherently dont have evil or arent capable of feeling the same sort of emptiness?
It was released here in Mexico just now and I just went to see it. It is truly fantastic.
Thank you Chris without your videos without you I never would have found this movie or Mamoru hosoda other films. More of these animated films are needed
Watch baccano it's a cool anime set in America.
yeah baccanos pretty cool
Loved this movie the feud and character development between Kumtetsu and Kyoto
I hope (in the future) that Chris will review actual Anime series (Examples: Re:Zero, One Punch Man, etc). That would make me so happy. Anyone agree?
I really need a Steins;Gate Stuckmann review
It's funny because back in December 2014, Chris actually posted a tweet saying that he was going to review it. It's a shame he never got around to it:
twitter.com/chris_stuckmann/status/542794983636750336
eclipsesonic Ahhh thats such a shame
Yeah, especially because Steins;Gate is a phenomenal time-travel Anime series that I think could get a lot of people into the art form.
Agreed, He always become my source of good movie titles and I also need him to recommend anime titles. I love animes but every 10 anime only around 2 that is really good. All the other become so heavy on fan service and filler that it just fell flat. Really hard to get a good titles these days.
Whenever I see movies like this they make me want to make my own movie like bro they make me wanna inspire people so bad
Please do a hiliariocity review of Anaconda or the 1994 Fantastic 4
that would be amazing
that would be amazing
that would be amazing
+marco aguirre such an great Idea someone had to be said three times.
I love how Ren and Kumatetsu chase each other around when they argue. haha
Chris's best movies of the year so far
A+ Deadpool
A. The Boy and the Beast, Zootopia
A- The Witch, Only Yesterday, Kung Fu Panda 3
4 animations, a comedy, and a horror
you forgot only yesterday
+Nickzad Rafieha It seems like 2016 has been a great year for animation so far!
+eclipsesonic Norm of the North...
Well, for the MOST part. Haha!
Agree, haven't seen gods of Egypt yet wonder if it's good
Your anime reviews are second to none Chris. Really well done.
Favorite film of the year so far, absolutely loved it. It's always great when a film this good comes out of nowhere and surprised you.
Man, his style is so recognizable. As soon as I saw the picture in your thumbnail I was like "Wait, that looks similar to Wolf Children..."
And indeed, here it is!
I have been waiting for a youtuber to review this, thanks Chris!
And can you review Summer Wars, it's one of my favorite movies
Ahhh I'm so salty that my local theater doesn't get these kinds of movies.
Hey Chris! I just ordered your book from Buenos Aires, Argentina! I'm very excited to read it! Thank you for being amazing
Damn, two A-grade animations in one weekend? Is this the real life?
+Dima Vasilev is it just fantasy ?
+B09Ca caught in a lifeline...
+Jon Snow no escape from reality..
Dawson B Open your eyes
Dima Vasilev look up to the sky(s?) and seeeeeee....
I'm always happy to see you review foreign films!
Wonder if it's a anime about the power of friendship
Been waiting for this since Wolf Children. So excited to finally see it, and I'm happy to hear that it delivers like I'd hoped it would.
This movie was amazing!!!!
Lol
My favorite part of EVERY video by Chris is when he says "Get Stuckmannized" cracks me up EVERY time!
It's not playing at my theater but I will buy the blu ray.
+The Scarecrow No, you won't.
I own more anime blu rays than Disney and Pixar films, and I would blind buy this one for the animation alone.
+The Scarecrow No, you don't.
+Demonhorse1 I have more anime movies on blu ray then Disney movies
+821lancevance *Than. And, no, you don't.
I have been waiting for this for so long, still cant find a place to watch it but good to hear that you enjoyed it, expectations have been raised even higher
I'm still waiting for the oscars review.
+Chris Osorio He won´t do one. Ever since they didn´t nominate Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler, he just stopped caring.
+Florian Knauer ohhhh okay understandable.
In my top 5 anime movies ever. I can't Choose in my top 5 movies: Akira, ghost in the shell, princess mononoke, boy and the beast, sword of a stranger. Thank you for your reviews.
Oh man.
Wolf Children gives me sad memories.
I went and saw Boy and the Beast last night on your recommendation. Loved it! Totally worth the cost. It was a good mix of coming of age and storytelling with a message.
"...everyone who inhabits this area is some sort of animal and they can walk and talk and they have lives." -- So...it's Zootopia
Thank you for referencing Wolf Children, it's such an amazing anime!
Chris, you should review Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa. in japanese) directed by Makoto Shinkai.
I just saw that film and it was amazing!
I'm so happy you're wearing A Spirited Away shirt. I love Shinkai, Miyazaki, Hosoda and Kon as directors. I love their work. I give them so much respect with their work.
American directors and producers don't have the guts to make movies like this. All they want is box office success.
Amen brother
well ya, it is a business after all. blame people for not liking anime as much as other American cartoons and such.
You understand filmmakers make films for a living yeah? a full length animated film is hard as hell to make. hard means expensive.
Ever gonna do a Akira review? That'd be awesome!
+Hunter Lee read the manga...its 10 times better....
gursimar singh I know. The film is still hella good though!
You've hyped me up for this film. I was pleasantly suprised with how much i loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
I liked the movie overall, but the finale with the whale and all was completely out of place and almost ruined the movie for me.
I agree. An actual sword duel wouldve been better.
And Kumatetsu turning into sword
Cool dude you dedicated a whole quarter of your video to explaining what lootcrate is
While I really enjoyed this movie, I had a lot of issues with it too. There were a lot of things that I feel should've been fleshed out more, I feel like it should've added maybe another 15-20 minutes for this and that would've been fine.
Love your anime reviews Chris. Do more series that you've watched! Met you in the falls a week or so back. Keep up the amazing work bud!
I absolutely love this movie
I was sad, but I thought it was a very good ending. I liked how they didn't force the romance between the MC and the girl (can't remember names), it all felt very natural
Hosoda's probably the best in story crafting and an overall cohesive product.
Hey Chis, we don't care about Loot Crate.
Nice review though.
+Q I care
+Sinpansara Gaming
i dont
He's being paid to advertise it. Relax.
Who?
Speak for yourself
As always an amazing review Chris
I'm sorry I had to watch this video twice. The first time I couldn't stop watching your beautiful shirt. (and you're right, this anime is fabulous).
Yes! I love his shirt too!!!
I have a very anti-hot topic attitude, every time I walk past the store I shake my fist like an angry old man...I broke my morals to get that shirt
Hey Chris, I really enjoy the playlist where you dig deep and analyze ambiguous movies like Enemy, Prometheus, and Signs. It'd be great if you could do those more often. An in-depth analysis of The Shining would be great.
My neck is sore.
When's the last time you gave out 2 A's in 2 days?
Wow, I have to say your lighting is perfect now I wouldn't change a thing!!
I also think the moby dick symbolism is a little too on the nose.
K Damon The problem is that the second half felt incongruous with the first.
What should i see Zootopia or The Boy and the Beast
I enjoyed zootopia more but this is a better movie so just watch both
+Blake Scott That's your dilemma? Dude I still haven't seen Deadpool! Why oh why is cinema so expensive? Too many good movies out there for my wallet!
+Son Of Montreal Me too :-( Because work...
Zootopia
Boba fett in digimon!!! I'm watching it
Oh could you please review Hotarubi no mori e!!
Are we sure Miyazaki's actually retired?
+Scott Sandler He retired 5 times already so.. who knows
I thought he came out of retirement last year to do his first cgi film
Bruh he's dead
When I went to Japan last summer I saw the poster for this movie everywhere
Wolf Children > Summer Wars > The Girl Who Leapt Through Time > The Boy and the Beast
+eclipsesonic Is that 'greater than' symbol?
Indeed it is. It's more-so by my personal preference to be fair.
eclipsesonic I've seen only Wolf Children and The Girl Who Leapt, so far I concur with your conclusion :)
Well, you only concur with half of my ranking technically speaking. :P
I personally preferred this movie more than Summer Wars, but hey, that's just me :)
Glad you're having a good month with animation so far, hopefully you check out Anomalisa soon!!! It's my favorite animated film of all time! I've seen it 4 times in theaters now.
This weeks is really the dream week for furries
Meh
Agree
Not every relationship has to be solidified by a hug. And one of the premises of good screenwriting is Show, Don't Tell. And, honestly, would the inclusion of those moments really influence your overall experience with the film? I personally think they would instead retract from the experience. But, at the end of the day, these are only diferent opinions. I absolutely love The Boy and the Beast, I think it will become a classic in time.
They show affection in a more aggressive way, some people really are like that.
I know this is an old video but thank you. I just finished it and absolutely loved it.
Goddamit. Loot crate is everywhere😐
+Rohan sinha they took Chris too :O
MrSwadloon poor old chris😕
it must be catching on since it's every where now. personally, I don't get it.
Some pacing problems (particularly in the first act) but a great movie.
lolwut Moby Dick
+mariokarter13 The moby dick reference was pretty clear. The whale being a mirror for Ahab, Ichirohiko doing the same for Kyuta. Ichirohiko presents the idealized version of what Kyuta has always wanted, a nuclear family.
sans3go It felt kind of forced in places though.
*picks up Kyuta's dropped copy of Moby Dick*
"A whale, huh?"
*shadow creature becomes a whale*
+mariokarter13 the book reference was started in act 2, and what way to dominate your opponent than by being something familiar. Plus it is anime things can't get crazy from one frame to the next
sans3go Probably could've used more onscreen interaction between Ichirohiko and Kyuta before the third act. Most of their relationship was offscreen.
i love your videos Chris, hope you keep uploading this good content :)
I disagree, the themes were juggled badly and didn't go together well with the plot
care to elaborate?
My sister got this movie, and I did not watch alot of animated Japanese stuff back then, so I didn't know what to expect. When I saw it just chilling with my sister, wow. This is totally a masterpiece and watchable.
Are you a furry?
+vikipoyta are you?
Brandon Miller nope
Who gives a shit?
hungryXman3 me, obviously
I what a furry, a big black one.
Makoto Shinkai has a film coming out this year, too. Both great anime directors.
absolutely agree on your review; an almost mindblowingly beautiful anime with painstakingly hand-drawn detailed backgrounds, deep characters, GREAT story, love the Japanese voice-acting, love how the relationships evolve in this movie... I really REEALLY liked what Hosoda did with the theme of fatherhood and how you take bits from everyone who cares about you to fully become who you are
only thing i disagree with you on is the grade you gave it. I'd have gone for A++. Quality animation of this grade is rare!
love your reviews
I love everything I've seen this director has made so far. I'm looking forward to seeing this film too! Thanks for the review Chris.
Totally agree with you on your review. Loved this movie. It even made me cry near the end. Great review.
I just watched this based on your recommendation and adored it - very beautiful, great story! Thank you!
I love Mamoru Hosoda. I was so hyped when I heard about this movie. I cannot wait to see it.
Geez I remember as a kid watching the Digimon movie a lot on VHS, I dunno if I enjoyed the actual movie more or the cover art on the case!
I'm so excited for your spiderman 3 review
I wanted to see it again right after I finished it too, if it wasn't for the fact that the theater I had to go to in order to see it had expensive parking I would have. Only 3 theaters are playing it in my state and the closest one was 39 miles away in a place I had never been. The parking caught me off guard. It was $8 for 3-4 hours. This is one of my favorite films after seeing it.
