"I'm something of an Actor myself" - Willem Dafoe
Here before this blows lol

Willem Dafoe is like that one uncle who used to scare you as a kid for fun but ended up your favorite as you grew up
Precisely
Agreed!
He’s kind of that already. He terrified me in the Spider-Man films and now I see him as a cool guy.
Yes

Is Willem Dafoe a class act .. YES

always impressed how good Willem plays villains while also being one of the nicest guy. Just amazing acting
I really don't know why this surprises people. Most actors are nice people.

@cleanshirt9999 Well with Ezra he groomed a 12 year old girl, grabbed a woman by the throat and forced her to the ground, threatened to murder a married couple and broke into a couple of people's houses and stole some alcohol.
@cleanshirt9999 Finally with Seth Rogen, he attacked actress Gina Carano somewhere.
Willem makes every character he portrays completely believable.

Love his energy! He's such a treasure
his expression when he says "because people sometimes think we are our characters" made me laugh. actors must have to deal with that a lot.
Truth mate
very true
you telling me Dafoe is not Da foe?
@@ogaimon3380 Nah he's Da Fwend.
Can we all just agree that this man is a once in a lifetime actor? I honestly can‘t remember 1 bad performance
He never did one 1⃣
Carlson Clay is my favourite ones
Who tf is Willem Dafoe and why are people calling Mr. Osborn that?
even in madonnas sorry effort of a movie "Body of Evidence" he was amazing.
Man was awesome in the movie platoon
Now I understand how he portrays his characters so well, this guys bursting with energy.
In an interview Robert Pattinson tells a story about shooting The Lighthouse. It's an insanely intense movie with very difficult scenes. After long and challenging takes, Willem would go, "all right, let's do another take" and just give it his all each and every time.
he's just like me fr (when I just had triple espresso)
You watch the interview Pedro gives him? He breaks down how he gets into character and you learn so much about him
its only natural if you like your job and you genuinely enjoy working with others.. why NOT be the best 'you' you can be?
it will only put pressure and weight on yourself and others around you if you act and behave like a bag of salt.
Now there's a person who loves to laugh. Full of energy and humor. I bet he'd be a great person to have a conversation with.
he gives the vibes you could get him in a room with the most boring in the world and he'd still find a way to have a 20 minute conversation with them about super off-the-wall topics
If you've seen pictures of his wife, you'd know why he laughs so much.
Met him once in Rome, he was lost and I gave him directions. He was chatty and personable.
After listening to his answers, Willem sounds like someone you could sit with at a table, have a drink with, and enjoy a conversation.
I bet YOU would be a great person to have a conversation with.
I liked Willem Dafoe as an actor, but I never seen him in an interview. I never knew Willem Dafoe as a person would be so likable. 10/10. More like Willem Dafriend.
Willem gives off the cool uncle vibes. Like in every reunion, he's the one that seemingly never runs out of funny stories to tell.
Ya if the Uncle was Jack Torrance on many happy pills.
Could not have come up with a better comparison.

Willem Dafoe passing up a chance to play the joker because he has "more important things to do" is such a chad move
I'd rather he'd do that instead of him being type-casted as Ryuk in Death Note.
He said "other things", not more important
@@KEN-1991 Type casted yes, but he was easily EASILY the best part of that movie.
@@ktvindicare
He's the best part of any movie he's in.
But Ryuk as an English-dubbed version is supposed to be more like a Jack Nicholson type.
He still should play the Joker, tho.

THANK YOU, Mr. Dafoe! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I've been telling people this for years now.
It's becuase people don't hear their own accents.
Wow he's much more bubbly and upbeat than I imagined.
Willem Dafoe seems like the kind of guy who could sit in a room alone talking to himself for hours and be completely entertained
Lol this is hilariously accurate
he could record it and we all would watch the whole thing
His new movie (titled Inside) is literally like that lol
That's literally me
@@gurrenmed5319 in the end thats all of us
His positive yet unhinged vibe is absolutely great. Slightly disturbing yet hilarious at the same time.
The way he says "McCarthy lived there" was both creepy and funny at the same time lmao.
He very much looks and acts like one of my Uncles did. Hes even got a moustache which btw is wild to see lol. Never though of him with a stache. Beard sure but never anything else when not clean shaven.
If you saw Willems benis youd be disturbed as well
@@jmyers52995 So that's why Robert Pattinson was so crazy during The Lighthouse.
For real it feels like he's on drugs lmao
Wow, I didn't expect Willem Dafoe to be like this AT ALL. He always came off as a somewhat serious person who can occasionally crack jokes. Here, he's completely carefree and childlike. I love it!
"What is Willem Dafoe like in real life?". He's like a nice Green Goblin. Same energy level.
"Not of chemistry, or physics" But we already know that Willem Dafoe is something of a scientist.

This guy scared the crap out of me as Norman Osborne in my childhood and I just love his acting skills in his sense of humor and I'm so glad he isn't afraid to claim his Midwestern roots! I need more of him always
He's got so much charisma. You can't help but smile when listening to him
Facts!
yes
He is somewhat of a charismatic man himself
Literally read this as I'm watching him and cheesing ear to ear
Exactly...
He seems like a hilarious guy. Considering some of the serIous and dark characters he’s played he’s suited perfectly for comedy.
He has a small but comedic role in "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou" and he absolutely knocks it out of the park.
"What happened to Monday?" Was pretty good.
Mr Bean the Holiday
Yes he's definitely a JOKER 🃏
You should see him do drag I'm the boondock saints. That is solid comedy.

I think him and Steve Buscemi might be lost brothers tho. I mean come on 😂
It was heartwarming more than laughing.
He should have said

And I
"Just me, my mommy, and my daddy."
He looks like Agent Smecker

Willem Dafoe in some movies : *menacing, formidable characters with a massive presence to each*
Willem Dafoe IRL : *that one funny grandpa you really love to hang out with*
I love his acting and all but I always thought he's the serious and intimidating type, but he's so bubbly and full of energy, this was such a lovely interview, thanks Wired 😍
While I see why people find him intimidating, I never have. Possibly because Platoon was one of the first movies I noticed him in, and he plays a kinda "older brother/father figure/mentor" type character there.
He is a complete opposite of what I thought he was like. He is just so positive and energetic.
Id love to get drunk with him sometimes, Im sure he has 1001 interesting and funny stories to tell.
He's still acting
Hope they make one w Charles Dance, I bet guy's pure condescension IRL too.
The fact that this talented gentlemen hasn’t won any academy awards is honestly a war crime
I acc love his energy why have I never seen more interviews of this guy 😭
I don't believe that we still live in a world where Willem Dafoe doesn't have an Oscar!
Well, we're living in a world where Leo DiCaprio won an Oscar only for The Revenant and Saviing Private Ryan lost to Shakespeare in Love.
It took really long for Martin Scorsese to get one too
He got nominated twice
