    The biggest wake-up call for me regarding proper cueing speed and not powering it in is when shooting down the long rail on an angle with low outside spin. If you try to power it, you get nowhere. If you hit with a good smooth stroke with less speed, you get the perfect position.

    Thanks! I felt so dumb not being able to draw correctly.. most youtube videos teach to go as low as you can and be as horizontal sa you can. Happy to find your channel and learn the truth 😊

    I've been working on my draw shot for months and months, the key is having a consistent and repeatable stroke, I can draw the CB, but I have to hit it harder than I should. Thanks for your clear instruction, I will start from closer to the object ball, I had been two diamonds away drawing back 6 diamonds. I do miscue/scoop maybe 10% of shots trying to hit as low as I can looking for that sweet spot. The audio was great on this video, earlier videos it was sometimes hard to hear, thanks for you video's and expert instruction ☺

    Brother you have a gift to teach! I got more out of this 13 minute video than I have watching countless hours of other videos! I think I'm TOO level now, after watching this. I'm off to practice, thanks so much!

    Thanks for posting, quality is A+. Have to disagree with one point. While hitting a short shot cue angle isn't going to matter a ton, and in some cases a higher angle is required if the object ball is very close and you need a punchier stroke to avoid a double hit, for longer draw shots your cue should be more level, and preferably with a closed bridge to keep the axis point low. 2 reasons for this... 1, you get a better stroke and follow through this way (think about playing follow too, you aren't striking UP on the ball), and more importantly possibly is 2, accuracy. If you strike even slightly down on the ball, and hit anywhere off dead center you are going to end up with a masse. Might be slight, but can be enough to miss the shot. The same doesn't apply as much to a level struck ball.

    A quality stroke over power is the biggest takeaway I learned

    Production of this video is awesome!! Big improvement and it really helps!!
    Would a fair takeaway be finesse > power ?

      Only 💯 correct😆
      Accurate striking (with timing) creates controlled and accurate power
      Are we saying a similar thing🙃

    This is good info and for more advanced I like the idea of not pocketing the ball how Demi described with Lil' Chris at 30 minute mark of "Training With Demetrius"

    Big X factor is if cloth is new or old also. Old cloth requires that much more stroke/speed/power to get same effect as new cloth. I think progressive drills are great tho,. Start easy and build confidence up. Good drill video.

    • @AdamMarr
      @AdamMarr 3 місяці тому +2

      not just cloth, and in some cases old cloth can actually give you a little more draw than expected on close shots as it grabs harder. The balls also matter a ton. I'd say the difference between super old beat up balls vs newer high quality balls (cue ball specifically) is actually bigger than the difference between high vs low quality cloth.
