- How I did a muffler install on this 2016 Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI. This is the second part of a muffler delete and installation. We will hear the sound difference with the new Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. My personal opinion as to the outcome and sounds of this muffler upgrade. Hopefully you can determine the direction you want to take for your car after watching this video.

Absolutely perfect choice of muffler for that car. As you said, sound is deep and pleasing. As a working musician, I can tell you that you were spot on with the subwoofer evaluation. We run into that on stage as "passive radiation" if two low end speakers are too close together and one will start causing the other to vibrate at the lowest frequency, which is sometimes very unwanted if a bass amp is bleeding over into a PA speaker. Ya' done good, figuring that out.

Thanks yes it’s great. You definitely know it’s there but it’s tastefully done. No crappy noise inside the car. I’m pretty happy with it. May delete resonator at some point. I just need more drive time with it. Thanks again 👍🏼

I have a 2016 Passat resonator delete with flowmaster Xtreme 10 muffler
How’s the sound? I thought about getting the 10.
crazy i have the same tip! ive removed my muffler and resonator off mine with a 3in pipe after the cat. lots of droning (obviously) at higher speeds. anything below 50mph isn’t too bad especially with music even at low volumes. sounds more like a fart can and i’m thinking of putting a resonator back on. something that won’t compromise the volume of the sound but will remove the drone and hopefully improve the tone. looking forward to seeing what you think should you remove your resonator!
Well thanks for the comment. After a little while I may keep the resonator on just to eliminate drone. I’m glad I waited and drove it for a bit. Prob going to keep the resonator for now. Although I may do a downpipe. But they are so expensive compared to what you get out of it. Not sure yet. But thanks for watching and the comment. @@grind-it-outMuffler delete, resonator delete is what I did. It’s very raspy and loud and kinna “ricey”. I then took it back and put a sport resonator on and it’s perfect!

Thanks a lot. Yea downpipe is good but it throws codes even with extended o2 sensor.

I live around the Cypress Houston area what shop did you take it to and how much did you pay? I would love to do this to my 16' passat.
That’s awesome. Yea the shop is 18502 Clay Rd. Ask for Alex. He will have to look at it before he gives you a price. I paid $75 but I had the muffler already. He just welded a small pipe and the muffler on. But that price could change. I kinda worked it out because I put the shop on my UA-cam channel. Just see what you can work out. What’s the model of muffler, I know it’s a Flowmaster but which one? It sounds so mean!!!
I showed the model and part number in the video. It’s a super 44. Apparently you didn’t watch all the way through 🤣. Just kidding but yea watch it again. I show it along with the part number on the box. It’s a good muffler fo sho 😎

Yes on any car. Just gotta make sure your pipe size and get the same size muffler. 💯👍🏼
