    A field of flowers as Pictomancer's group buff is so lovely. They look like Elpis blooms.

    I wasn't very excited for Picto aesthetically but after the mechanical showcase they did in the live letter, I'm _very_ interested. It feels like it borrows elements from Red and Black mage in a way I really like. As an example, the hammer 3-hit combo has no cast time, but putting the hammer on your gauge does take a very long cast. So knowing where you can get away with a long cast gets rewarded with uptime during movement heavy sections.

    I still have NO fucking clue how this job is going to work despite literally watching it play. This definitely feels like the most open ended a job has been, unless there's some method to the madness.

      can apply canvas arts spells for each individual one of the 3 canvas with a long cast time during combat, but it's instant when casted out of battle.
      1st canvas is building up monster summons.
      2nd canvas does spell "weapon" combos.
      3rd canvas "landscape" party buffs and heavy hitting spells.
      The pallet gauge builds up using light and dark paint spell gcds as filler attacks. The Light paint attacks are instant with less dmg to use on the go if need to keep moving. While the dark paint spells that have cast times but do more damage when it's safe to be stationary.

    From my understanding of the job preview, you combo red, green, blue, to make the white paint for holy, then use the gauge to switch to cyan, magenta, and yellow to make black paint for the meteor and you switch between the two

    There’s some preparation for these spells it seems, probably has some high potencies. Hammer has no cast time so probably used for high movement phases. Downtimes can be used to reprepare spells again, im already speculating in how this would work, im really interested since it actually feels a bit different from other casters

    I was not into Picto at the reveal but they nailed it here for me, I actually really want to play it now. Way less jarring, doesn't give Splatoon, they toned down the gloopy sound effects. They hit the line where it's fun and cute without being overly ridiculous that it's jarring for me.

      its pretty much the same as it was when it was fist shown tho. I just think people are switching up after seeing what it can fully do now lol

      @@davidpower5710 It's not, they basically only showed the worse parts in the reveal intercut with the added Splatoon stuff in the edits. They didn't show most of the moves that kind of tone everything down and it's noticeably less goopy sounding, it was pretty much present and loud in almost every move in the reveal. Could be a situation where the entire picture is less jarring than the stuff they focused in on in the reveal.

      @@mismismism what do you mean Splatoon stuff? Because nothing has changed. Hell would even say its more "splatoon" with its dash. you even said it your self "they only showed the worst parts". Dose part haven't change.
      The point is that simply you like it now that you seen the whole picture. No need to try add stuff to justify yourself. xD

      @@davidpower5710 Rewatch the reveal, by Splatoon, I mean they added flat paint splats and gooey sounds to the transitions then only really showed off the other paint moves that also had that effect giving the impression that the whole job was going to have that when it's not even half the moves in the full reveal. And I just rewatched the reveal, the gloopy sound effect was very loud and on the majority of moves and that was not how it is in the job actions trailer.
      Go see how many people thought it gave Splatoon before. That's because we all commented on what was shown, and this version breaks it up enough that it's not as jarring visually or with the sound effects which also had loads of comments.
      Same thing happened with Viper, what they showed before was the most bland parts of the kit. You're out here trying to pick a fight because we're saying we like the job now that we see the whole picture and it doesn't all have that flat, Splatoon-like animation.

    I know the Pictomancer is dropping Poms but all I see is Mover from Crisis Core falling from the sky.

    I have concerns about Pictomancer's viability, considering how slow their actions are. Not even speaking to the potential damage output, more the usability in high end content. There's a reason that BLM's cast times have been getting steadily reduced over time (along with getting access to more ways to gain instant casts).

      That’s likely why they seem to have a fair amount of utility to raise overall dps despite their long cast times. Plus those potencies might make up for the lack of attacks when painting

      Picto has instant casts too. And swiftcast will be 40seconds. The landscape party buff also reduces cast time for picto. We also don't know how the fight designs are going to shift in DT. There's no way for us to debate anyway without being able to play it ourselves though, because trailer + LL don't tell us everything, and anything can be tweaked between now and the launch
