- The Marriage of Figaro (Italian: Le nozze di Figaro), K. 492, is an opera buffa (comic opera) in four acts composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with an Italian libretto written by Lorenzo Da Ponte based on a stage comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais, La folle journée, ou le Mariage de Figaro (1784).
This is not just one of Mozart's best. This is one of the best passages in human history. It is so simple. “A chef is measured by his simplest dish.” When the countess comes in, it is true forgiveness and the conferring of perfect absolution.” God was singing through Mozart. You hear that in the countess’ first five measures. I used to think if the world were to end we would lose Beethoven and Mozart. Now I think if this survived in a dystopian society, Mozart’s music and da Ponte’s word would be the seeds of a healthy world to come.

I saw a woman disguised in her maid’s clothes hear her husband speak the first tender words he has offered her in years simply because he thinks she is someone else. I love the music, Mozart and the movie.
Sire, only opera can do this. In a play if more than one person speaks at the same time, it's just noise, no one can understand a word. But with opera, with music... with music you can have twenty individuals all talking at the same time, and it's not noise, it's a perfect harmony!
If I see the gates of heaven, I hope this is playing while I ask the heavens for forgiveness

I love the scene in Amadeus where Mozart is by himself leaning over a billiard table, writing music on to paper.... he is using the cue ball as a 4/4 count by bouncing it off the bumpers of the pool table while Contessa Perdono plays in the background.....Mozart all alone with his music.... brilliant !!!

Ironically, Amadeus is probably the worst movie I have watched by a long shot.

I absolutely Love Mozart, ever since I was a child I loved his music. Every piece written not just to please the ear, but to connect to and nurture the soul. Nothing can ever Match the eternal beauty that Mozart was able to create! This song among one of his best!

Magnifique, merci à ce grand compositeur qui nous laisse un patrimoine musical sur le quel l'humain intellectuelle ce questionnairas sans cesse sur le génie de cet homme, comment peut-on arriver à composer sans erreur une tel musique, tout est beau et harmonieux.....
