The restored third act as bold, brilliant. The fourth... was astounding. l saw a woman disguised in her maid's clothes hear her husband speak the first tender words he'd offered her in years. Simply because he thinks she is someone else. l heard the music of true forgiveness filling the theatre... conferring on all who sat there perfect absolution. God was singing through this little man to all the world. Unstoppable. Making my defeat more bitter with every passing bar.
+Kenneth Crain Mozart wrote some beautiful music without doubt., as did many others. For range of expression, feeling, sheer beauty and the ability to paint a picture with music, Beethoven for me was the best who ever lived. A genius of the highest order.
For three decades, I have gone back on forth in my head on this discussion: Mozart or Beethoven? Beethoven or Mozart? Aren't we blessed that both have lived?
don't understand why people say beethoven's music is more emotional than mozart's, anyone who listen's to this have to agree they are at least equal or more emotional. only mozart's music can make me shed a tear no matter how many times i listen to it.
When he goes to the deceptive cadence, then right back to it again, I lose all ability to hold back tears. It's not just the music, but the fact that it's about forgiveness. How absolutely beautiful and sweet something so simple can be!
^ That is what got me when I first really played this opera in 2010 or so. That deceptive cadence, plus, just the simple absolutely purity and clarity of line that only Mozart could have achieved - I had to leave the orchestra pit for a second cause I was just awash.
Maybe Mozart's music is not as complicated created as Bachs or others, but this part here proofes, that he is truly the greatest composer the world has ever seen.
The Marriage of Figaro is an opera I never tire of hearing. There is joy, there are tears, so much to enjoy. I think the second act in particular is a delight both as drama, as music and sheer ingenuity. The finale of the second act is breath-taking.
May God make every performance of Figaro this beautiful so that the world will know how perfectly it was written. Bravo maestro Gardner and director Mille. And Bravo to the most appropriate cast ever assembled.
Every time I listen to this my heart beats a lot faster. I pray God to have this feeling of sweatness and... (something I can't describe) even only for once in my life. Grazie Mozart.
the more i listen to mozart the more i am sure their we never be his equal he had a gift that come from i cannot say his work move me in ways out work do-not ,i still love listeing to handel . . . .
I can't speak for mozart but Ibelieve this to be the better of the two. It doesn't want to be rushed. with it slower you can enjoy every single much more to it's full value. Hear the piece in it's full beauty as it should be heard.
I like to log into UA-cam on occasion, just to comment, what a remarkable this is, and that it continues to be my favorite video of "Contessa Perdono".
Never envy those who seem to be naturally gifted, as more often than not these people will rely too heavily on talent, learning almost nothing of the most important lesson: that diligence, focus, and the pursuit of mastery are more valuable than all the riches in the world. Upon learning this simple (but profound) truth, every so-called 'marvel' produces himself. It's never too late. Don't delude yourself for one moment into believing that Mozart had something that you do not. Time is precious.
Poetry emotion😥 I can't find any words to describe how I'm feeling. A thousand questions come into my mind and only God who gave Mozart his gift can answer them all The greatest composer of all.
And he does it. Mozart really shows us that to err is human and forgiveness is truly divine. It’s the irony that Contessa perdona, from a comedy, makes me cry the most where opera is concerned. It affirms my faith.
There is Mozart. Then there is everyone else. Beethoven Who? Mozart, the master at every genre of music of his time and died at 35. What more proof does anyone need? The beauty. The Genius is right in front of you.
This a very passionate moment as she is forgiving her husband and they start singing together, Mozart was a genius composer and this for me makes me want to listen to more music he composed.
Here, to start listening and to start to cry is the very same thing... This is the real forgiveness we all hope to find after death. Thanks Mozart, my devoted friend.
I do understand what you're saying, but every generation produces a marvel. Van Gogh couldn't paint like Titian, and died poor because his work wan't appreciated, but we call them both geniuses now. There are different kinds of genius, different ways to express it - and when a new kind comes along, it can take decades for people to even recognise them because they're new. But geniuses never stop being born. This generation has geniuses too, thought maybe you and I will never know them as such.
"L'acte IV fut étourdissant. [...] J'entendis la musique de la vraie réconciliation emplir le théâtre, abordant à chacun de ceux qui étaient là une parfaite absolution. Dieu chantait à travers ce petit homme le chant du monde irrépressible." Amadeus.
If there is a God, he is speaking through this music, through Wolfgang Amadeus! I am from Salzburg and I should know....Just beautiful and absolute bliss !!

Salieri! ❤
Saliery to the priest in Amadeus by Milos Forman
cite please: AMADEUS schafer, words of Salieri.. please, be precise!!!!
Indeed..
Salieri did not kill the master...
The most sublime and beautiful 2 minutes of music in the ENTIRE operatic repertoire... just makes me cry every time I hear it...
Mozart was by far the greatest composer that ever lived.
No doubt. 35 years old and left countless works of pure genius unmatched by anyone.
+Kenneth Crain come on, beethoven, bach, those are 2 names of unbelivable men the made mozart less famous
+Kenneth Crain

lol

So beautiful in the seemlingless simplicity. Oh Mozart - I cannot imagine the world without you - thank you!
Lizzy Galloway but so difficult to sing. Such beautiful music!!
I cant find the words to describe what I feel when listening to this aria. "music of forgiveness"
Odette Alonso-Sañudo It's not an aria.
15 people think there are too many notes
no no, they just yawned :)
Those 15 people have to clean their ears.
Arthur Eustaquio LOL
they should have them 1st
Arthur Eustaquio jajajaja....estuvo bueno.
jajaja.

I agree.. this man was touched by god
They are paragons of different Genres. Mozart was for operas as Beethoven was to symphonies and Bach with the Piano.
the restored 3rd act... was bold.. brilliant
the 4th.... was astounding

This man and his obscene laughter!
Amadeus
One of the truly great moments of classical music
When he goes to the deceptive cadence, then right back to it again, I lose all ability to hold back tears. It's not just the music, but the fact that it's about forgiveness. How absolutely beautiful and sweet something so simple can be!

Surely there was an angel of music in the room when the Maestro was composing.....simply divine!
Mozart....the voice of God. Grazie Mozart
It's not hyperbole to call this divine. It's both love and forgiveness.
Definitely not hyperbole.
Even the perfection of it.
I am always sad when I listen to this part of the opera, because this is the very last part of it.
this one moment in the whole opera never ceases to move me to tears
no modern song can express apology like these 3 minutes of pure magic
How hell he arrived to put such notes that incredibly made us feeling such emotion and hearing as if GOD is singing THE FORGIVENESS..Genius for ever.
Rest in peace Mozart, divine just incredible
Maybe Mozart's music is not as complicated created as Bachs or others, but this part here proofes, that he is truly the greatest composer the world has ever seen.
Beauty in simplicity
Thank you I've been looking for this for the longest time after seeing it in Amadeus.
Achingly beautiful. It makes me cry every time I watch it.
God was singing through his little man. To all the world. Unstoppable!

Mozart opens a portal to our dormant emotions and love becomes multidimensional and without bounds.
1:31
Oh no! There is a man drowning in the front row and everyone is ignoring him!
Lol
Thanks for the good laugh.
As usual, I have to get on here, every few years, and state what an exceptional job was done with this performance.
TRULY MOZART WAS A TRUE GENIUS THIS LEFT ME IN TEARS ALSO!
IL CONTE
Contessa, perdono! (Perdono, perdono)
LA CONTESSA
Più docile io sono,
e dico di sì. (E dico di si)
TUTTI
Ah, tutti contenti
saremo così. (Saremo così)
This music really feels unreal, something transcends from it
ive got goosebumps listening to this :) i dont think there was ever a more beuatiful scene in opera and the music is utterly spellbinding!!
Every time I listen to this my heart beats a lot faster. I pray God to have this feeling of sweatness and... (something I can't describe) even only for once in my life.
Grazie Mozart.
A total act of forgiveness, and love, joy in the music, Mozart was touched by God.
i realy lovethis song and i dont mind replaying it the whole day it such a beautiful piece
it's so beautiful! I can't even describe it with words because beautiful is not enough
the more i listen to mozart the more i am sure their we never be his equal he had a gift that come from i cannot say his work move me in ways out work do-not ,i still love listeing to handel . . . .
The words are too poor to describe this. Absolutely brilliant.
How can anyone listen to this and not hear the voice of God coming through this little man?!
haha very subtle... *yawn* :)
Une musique merveilleuse, une interpretation parfaite, une melodie sublime. .
Voila le Mozart divin.
La più bella opera mai scritta!
Musica del cielo! Bravo Mozart.
We should be forever grateful that he was able to write that emotion down for prosperity.
It moves my eyes to tears...it's...it's...magical...:' ) I'm crying and I can't stop it...
It could also be 5 h long, but mozart's music put in pause the passing of the time...and I can only cry listening to it!
I cry in 36 different languages when I hear this...
every time I listen to this it deeply shakes me
"The only Words that Matter, the only Words that Count are those We speak when We have Pardoned and Love once more..."*

Besides the one in the movie, this is the best rendition I've found.
Oh, this is breathtaking! Hits me in the *feels* everytime.
That was beautiful and I loved how the Count pulled Cherbino's ear and then saluted him
There is Mozart. Then there is everyone else. Beethoven Who? Mozart, the master at every genre of music of his time and died at 35. What more proof does anyone need? The beauty. The Genius is right in front of you.
We need a lot more of forgiveness, music and kindness
Really astoundingly beautiful, forgiveness in musical composition.
so touching couldn´t hold my tears, heart breaking forgiveness
Absolutely fantastic !
Mi fa sempre commuovere ...
Such a beautiful and delightful scene.
Beautiful! Bravo!
The more I listen to this, the more I become completely enamored of it!
C'est beau, c'est beau, c'est beau!
Très très beau!
Turns the Brian Rix farce into a sublime act of forgiveness and unity. The greatest of music.

Mozart, a master of beauty ❤❤❤
Bravo ... Palabras de oro
Gorgeous, eternal music.
Absolute beauty.
My Most favorite opera of all time
I have watched this for many months. Not since "Amadeus" have I seen a more beautiful production. The absolute in forgiveness.
So perfectly Divine!

In all truth, this comment made me chuckle in the midst of tears. I completely agree with you.
Far too beautiful to express in mere words
This is what forgiveness sounds like.
